While the food was good, the burger was a bit high priced from others we ate all over the eastern portion of Ireland. I had fresh tomato brushet & seasonal veggies which made a nice dinner for us. If in the area, go here but just note the pricing

We visited this restaurant as a family of 4, with 2 fussy eating children. Everyone was very happy with the food. The food is exceptional as was the service and it was also excellent value as we took advantage of the early bird menu. The chicken wings were a favourite and we had the fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection. Children had burger & chips and Pizza, both were great quality and delicious. Just to point out, our children are really fussy and they both agreed it was the best food they ever had! So 5 stars to JPs, we will have to travel from Dublin, but we will be back.

Visited JPs on a Sunday evening and had one of the nicest meals we have had in a long time. I got the steak and it was cooked exactly as I had asked and my partner got the lamb who said it was cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced for such a lovely dinner. Great portion sizes and dessert was also delicious. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

So only the second night of the return to indoor dining and we were looking forward to eating out once again.
The staff were very professional and friendly and we were put at our ease right away.
There was a good choice on the menu and we decided to share the JP's chicken wings for starters.
My wife went for the Steakhouse burger with melted cheese ,and I decided to try for my first time the fish dish of Trout on a bed of baby broccoli with almond nuts baby tomatoes and baby potatoes.
Let me tell you people the food did not disappoint and the Trout was amazing.
Very well cooked and presented.
We shared a bottle of the fabulous Birchmore Shiraz-Cabernet from Australia.
Well done to all at the JP's Steak House we will be back
Brian
Glad to hear you got your credit machine sorted guys

Quiet night when we arrived, great service to start from very friendly staff and starters. Ordered two medium/rare rib eyes-one looked divine the moment it arrived. One looked dry. The second cut in it was well done. The sauce and sides were nice as was the other main but the rib eye on one plate was rubbery, dry and inedible. Tried to get the attention of wait staff for the duration of the meal and couldn't. So just ate the sides. Such a disappointing experience. Especially with the meal in the restaurants name. Expect better.

I booked the table for Saturday night the 19th February for 4 of us. I received a reminder text to confirm booking. It was an absolutely miserable wet night outside. We got in to the restaurant and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. The staff were all so happy and friendly. The customers were sitting back enjoying their meal and everyone just looked so happy. The staff were flat out busy but yet they managed to get around to everyone on time. No fuss no panic. All so happy and friendly. The staff made sure we were okay, two of us are coeliac and the staff were well informed on what was gluten free and what wasn't. No running off to check. We got our drinks first, ordered our food. Everything was served piping hot and on time. It looked pleasing to the eye and tasted delicious. It has to have been our best experience in a restaurant. The men ordered the T Bone stake, that is some feed. The gluten free starts were delicious. The deserts were delicious too. i give it 10 out of 10. Definitely the place to go. There were every age group in their all enjoying their food and chat. We were in good company too and cannot wait to go back. The four of us give it thumbs up and the staff are just amazing.

This was the perfect place to go for our first post pandemic ‘date night dinner’.
The food (starters and mains) was really fresh, very tasty and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection.
We had wine by the glass and the ones we had were very reasonably priced and really good. The Guinness was also very good.
Service was excellent.

I have lived just outside Mullingar for 12.5 years and never visited this restaurant. A friend booked it last minute for a party of 6 women. I am glad she did. The decor is lovely. It is roomy and clean. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. The food was delicious and excellent value. We had the set menu and of course I had steak. It was cooked exactly as I requested ( rare). The sauce and vegetables were delicious.
All in all a lovely experience and I will definitely be back.

My friends and I decided at the last minute to meet for dinner. We had no booking. I arrived at JP's steakhouse and asked if they had space for a table of five on a Saturday. I was informed it wasn't an issue and that they could seat us for dinner.
We were promptly seated and served drinks. Midway through ordering dinner, a young waitress crept up behind the waitress who was taking our order and whispered in her ear. She was ignored and then asked us if we had a booking - to which I replied no, that I had asked if they had space to take us when we arrived. She then left and returned to inform us that JPs infact did not have space, and that the table was required for a booking in less than 15 minutes. This waitress was thoroughly apologetic, but we had to leave.
I'm writing this review because this left a poor taste in our mouths. The waitresses from start to finish need retraining.
Firstly, the waitress who seated us never checked the booking system when we asked if they had space to take us. We surmised there was ample space as a result. A simple check of the system or speaking to a more senior member of staff could have avoided this scenario altogether.
Secondly, as we walked out, the young waitress, who did NOT seat us, was being berated by other members of staff for seating us. She was not responsible for the situation whatsoever. The waitress who took our order was the waitress who seated us, and she stood there and allowed this other waitress to be berated for a mistake that wasn't hers. My friends were offered a "we're sorry, she's new". I missed the telling off as we walked out. I would have corrected them on the matter, however i did notice a visible argument (as did other guests who watched).
Finally, the fact that there was a visible argument and telling off on the floor of the restaurant is wholly unprofessional by all accounts. This is creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for customers and gives a poor impression of the restaurant.
Staff need retraining and the young waitress deserves an apology from her colleagues.

JP's Steak House I was extremely disappointed with your service and response when we complained about you forgetting a starter and arguing at our table about the complaint that we made about the steak that was served. The complaint was made after the first bite of your €38.90 T-Bone was eaten. Leaving a customer with a legitimate complaint about the food you served with the feeling of being ganged up on by 2 staff members who stood over them at their table is absolutely unprofessional. Your statement that ‘everybody else’s was fine’ was ridiculous. Our steak was not. You were condescending and rude and it was not appreciated.

Called in yesterday just arfter 5.30 with a friend..We thought the 2 course option was good value at 29.00
The young waitress arrived to our table with an incorrect starter and rectified it shortly afterwards
My brie with salad was on the miniture portion size
.I would have expected at least a decent size piece ..
My main of a burger without Cheese was just ok..Lacked flavour ..The lagasne was also average ..
I dont mind paying a price and coming away with the feeling the food was delicious and good value. Unfortunately It.was 5 out of 10.

2nd visit to this restaurant and even better than the last time. Staff are very friendly and more than helpful. Went here with my wife. We had ceaser Salad and crispy potatoe skins with bacon for starters. Both were delicious. For mains we had lasagne with chips and a 12oz striploin with chips, mushrooms and onions. Food was very tasty. Plenty of choice on the menu for all. You can get Guinness and Carlsberg on tap. The restaurant itself is nice and big with plenty of room.Would definitely recommend a visit here fabulous food and service. Will be back.

We went out here for my wife's birthday. It was a Thursday and the place was very quiet. I've been here a few times and have always been pleased with both food and service. There were 7 of us and we were all delighted with our meal. I had the T-bone and it's a serious cut of meat! I like my steak rare and it was perfect, nicely charred on the outside and red and juicy inside! It's great to find a restaurant that really understands steak! Others in our party had the burger, chicken, lamb and seabass and we were very happy. Staff are really friendly and obliging. Cannot praise this place highly enough!

I have been to Jp's steakhouse many many times but unfortunately I won't be going back. No real problem with the food as its always tasty and very good quality. I was given a pint of Carlsberg that I couldn't drink due to the foul chemical taste and smell of it. Staff are very good and very quick but the prices are outrageous. €22 for a burger, €35 for a steak. I understand prices and costs are rising but of things don't change here they'll price themselves out of the market. I was there on a Saturday evening at 8pm and the place was half empty which is not a good sign

Staying in Mullingar overnight, don't know the town, happened on JP's Steakhouse. It was quiet on the Monday night of a Public Holiday. 2 waiting staff were excellent. The restaurant was very clean. I had a glass of pinot grigio which was lovely. Our main was baked chicken stuffed with brie. This description totally undersells the dish as it was beautifully presented. The chef knows his flavour combinations. The produce is local as far as I remember and what's done with it in making up a dish that satisfies, is well cooked, really well presented and is to be appreciated. We had no problem waiting for a cooked to order dish. The taste was just something to be savoured. Succulent chicken, well cooked, not dry with the wonderful brie had a crunchy coating of breadcrumb. The texture really added to the dish. It was expertly seasoned and needed not a grain of salt more. I always think how the veg is cooked and presented can make or break a meal. Veg that keeps its' own colour, its' form and has modicum of crunchiness does it for me every time. The little pot of mushroom sauce with the veg dipped in was truly yummy along with some tasty mash. We don't eat out that much, but for what we got in JP's and what we paid for it, it was top notch as far as we're concerned and worth the money. We know good food when we find it. It was a bit of a special event for us to be there and was marked by a memorable meal for all the right reasons. I definitely can recommend JP's.
