Lovely visit here last Saturday. We were passing through Mullingar and chanced upon this restaurant. Excellent choice, food was super, my husband had the Lemon Thyme Chicken and I had the Power Bowl, flavours were perfectly balanced and vegetables cooked al dente superb. On top of that the young staff were extremely pleasant and attentive, full marks all round.

Just off the train from Dublin with my boyfriend, we felt a bit peckish so popped into new Wholesome Kitchen in Mullingar, Delicious coffee and dessert at a very good price. The staff are super friendly, and ensured that we were accommodated for at all times. Very warm and inviting restaurant with place very well kept and comfortable seats. Would highly recommend to anyone to make a visit as I can assure you will be back!

This place had been on my radar for a while as I follow them on Instagram, being from loughrea its bit of a spin to visit but was lucky enough my hubby booked a babysitter to treat my to a lunch date and here is where is said to go to! We arrived around 10past 12 on a Saturday and were able to get a seat after ordering straight away. I wasn't aware at the time that they were only open 10mins as most tables were taken up! Thank goodness we arrived when we did as a q wasn't long forming to get in. (Always a good sign). I decided to get the earth bowl with falafel and the Alpha kale shake, my husband got the chicken fillet burger which was served with baby potatoes, colsaw and side salad, he got sparkling water to drink. The cost was €30. We didn't wait to long to get our food, it looked fab and tasted even better. My husband practically inhaled his it was so good and mine was so filling. We then got two cappuccinos a mint aero cheesecake and a peanut butter cookie costing €14. The coffee was perfect the cheesecake was lovely extremely filling def wouldn't of been able to eat it all on my own and the cookie was delicious very moist. I would definitely recommend coming here as a treat, they also do dinner and for those looking to track what they eat they provide a menu with macros which is great, i also seen they serve wine and beer. Cant wait to come back.

We are regular customers to wholesome kitchen and regularly eat both in and out. Prior to this evening I have always been satisfied with the food and portions. This evening we ordered a take away . We were happy with 2 dishes but the portion sizes of the beef stir fry were disappointing. The box appeared to be half full which we haven’t experienced before. On top of that, the massive portions of rice were totally disproportionate to the servings provided. The aero cheesecake didn’t seem to be set either. As I said , prior to this evening I would rate WK 5/5 as food is always great and staff too.

I’m sorry to write this in hard times, but are people going to start telling the truth about the food here? Yes it’s healthy which is great and a restaurant selling healthy food was what the town needed however, the price of it for dry and tasteless food is ridiculous. For example: A spice bag with no spice? A stir fry with very little sauce, no spice or herbs to taste, bought 3 and it cost 38€! Is that not madness?
I have tried almost everything on the menu and I’ve been mostly disappointed.
Also to note, they bring out a dish every once in a while that you can only order for a week, and these are the nicest dishes they make! Makes no sense to me, a Ferraro Roche cheese cake and a Katsu curry that had taste and was nice but aren’t on the full menu?
Just think this place isn’t worth the hype, overall the food isn’t great and the prices don’t reflect the standard of the food.

Let’s be honest here, I don’t think you sorry to write this in the ‘hard times’ that you reference. If you were, you would reach out to a business to give your feedback and give them a chance to resolve your complaint directly. I’m afraid we don’t have a record of you getting in touch. It’s also disappointing to see that the majority of your previous reviews towards other businesses in Mullingar are very negative therefore we can only assume that your preference is for this approach.
We pride ourselves on our food, taste and quality. That said, we know we can get things wrong and will always do our best to fix any issues and improve. To give you an insight into what makes us different compared to other cafes/restaurants. We make all our food from scratch in our restaurant and all sauces are made from spices and veg - not your usual fats, butters and creams. We also don’t own a deep fat fryer. We hand prepare, oven roast, don’t buy in pre-cut/pre-cooked ingredients, don’t use processed ingredients/msgs etc and we pack our dishes & sauces full of veggies. As a result of this our food definitely wouldn’t be considered expensive.
Our Spice Bag is simply a once off special and at €9.95 it absolutely may be considered expensive if you’re comparing it to your standard deep fried bag from a chipper. We hand prepare and oven bake it and yes it’s much dryer compared to your usual deep fried spice bag but I guess that’s our point of difference - a healthier version. If you’re looking for a €6 deep fried spice bag you’ll find plenty of options elsewhere. A note we might add it’s our most requested item by repeat customers. In relation to our ‘Weekly Specials’, these are launched for ONE WEEK at a time and then we bring out a new special the following week. Not too sure where the confusion or anger lies here?
Given your feedback it looks like that this style of cooking and our restaurant would not be to your style so we wish you all the best. Given your previous reviews and this one may we suggest that in the future you make the effort to reach out to businesses to resolve any issues you might have.

Visited yesterday, we were greeted & our order was taken & paid for. We then asked where we should sit, I girl pointed to a table & said she would clean it. We were given our coffee, we had to ask for milk & sugar. We had all asked water, we were given 1 glass, when I pointed out we all wanted water he went and got it. Our food was brought down, we then had to ASK for cutlery. When my companions were happy with their pulled chicken burgers, my Thai street noodles were gloopy over cooked but the chicken was nice & plentiful.
In essence this looks like a nice place BUT there did not seem to be any MANAGERIAL direction for the young inexperienced staff. Setting the table would be a good start.

I’ve visited this restaurant a good few times over the last few months and each time it amazes me. Very friendly staff, lovely experience, amazing atmosphere and the FOOD is PERFECT!!! Had a Beefless Irish Stew today and it was lovely. Local food, Asian wok dishes, and great healthy lunch and dinner options all at a very reasonable price. Very impressed :-)

Myself and a few friends went for dinner here. The food catered for all our requirements, namely vegetarian and gluten free, while also offering non vegetarian options. The food was absolutely delicious while also being healthy. There was a great selection of drinks and desserts, as well as mains.
The staff were happy to accommodate any specific requests we had and overall were very attentive and friendly.
The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated - a bit quirky, modern and classy. It was also very clean. We were also happy to see that tables were spaced to allow for social distancing and all staff wore face masks.
We were very impressed with this restaurant / cafe and felt that there wasn't anywhere comparable in Dublin - anywhere similar would only cater for vegan /vegetarian diets.
I would highly recommend visiting here. It was delicious, healthy and had a lovely atmosphere.

Stopped in for lunch on the way back from a trip west, found this place from trip advisor reviews and certainly worth the stop off the N4. Very good COVID procedures in place. Interiors and setting stylish and comfortable. Staff all very good and excellent service throughout. For example, I asked for soya sauce to go with the stir fry rice and waitress said this was available or she suggested she could get me extra stir fry sauce which was then made fresh for us with no problems. We had goats cheese bruchetta, chicken satay and beef stir fry. All the food was really tasty and fresh. Good value. Would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed the Vegan burger, Coconut Chicken Curry and Linguini with pesto and mushroom.
Also the Mango and Apple Smoothies and the honeycomb
We loved the compostable packaging, and we were very impressed with how well the takeaway system is organised.
If only we could pay online in advance....that would be a bonus. But well done Wholesome Kitchen!

Side order of stir fry vegetables were excellent at about €3. The warm dressing was a little too sweet but ,obviously,appealing to children and adults alike used to suga.
The goats cheese salad was very good.
The food is brought to the table after ordering and paying at the counter.
The above was enough for two!

The bowl of soup was large and the earth bowl wrap was lovely. The service was very good and there were good hygiene practices in place. The staff wore masks, there were dividers between tables and tables were properly wiped down and sanitised. There was a wide variety on the menu, especially for vegans/ vegetarians.

I visited Wholesome Kitchen on Saturday evening for a takeaway for the family after a busy day. First of all Sophie and Patryk are brilliant staff. They were attentive, genuinely cared that my order was fulfilled correctly and went to great lengths to deliver wonderful customer service. Their manners and professionalism are second to none. Sophie is exceptional, helping her colleagues, attending the busy restaurant which was very busy and being hyper aware of everything around her. Amazing customer service.
We ordered the Satay Chicken Skewers, Rice Paper rolls and herbed potatoes for starters. The rolls were so fresh and crispy veg was mouthwatering. The skewers were so tasty and flavoursome and the herbed potatoes are so nice. For mains we ordered Beef stir fry, VIetnamese Lemongrass chicken stir fry, wrap and soup combo. My son very much dislikes veg however with this sensational and healthy stir fry he clears the plate. Has to be one of their best dishes. The Vietnamese Lemongrass stir fry was so beautiful and the food was bursting with flavours of Asia. The soup and wrap were for my mam, she’s quite picky but she ate every last morsel. The care the staff and chefs give to the food is amazing. Mullingar is so blessed to have such an amazing restaurant like this on their door step. I actually travel from another town to get this food it’s that good. Finally, for desserts, we had Banofee Pie and Vegan Brownie. Both are lovely. Also try, the Lemon Slushie, I have been told before this is sweetened naturally. I spoke to the owner briefly via messaging to praise the staff and the ethos of customer care from the owner obviously emanates to the staff. He was so pleasant. Also lovely to see a business thriving during these hard times of Covid. We are going for another takeaway on Wednesday for my birthday and I cannot wait. It’s so healthy and at the same time so tasty.

Everything about Wholesome Kitchen is perfect. The food, the staff and the service they provide makes it easily one of the nicest restaurants in Ireland. The menu is has a great selection for all and I love the weekly specials they do have to offer, which means every time you go you will have a different option. And the portion sizes are amazing. Love it here and everytime I leave I already can't wait to come back

Visiting family we came from limerick my first meal out since lockdown food was excellent particularly the lemon chicken. Cleanliness fist class all staff wearing masks queue at door met by staff member told waiting time got seated on time . Contact details taken. Tables regularly sanitised well spaced out. Finished with desert very friendly staff and well trained . 10 out of 10. Recommend it highly as a very safe place to dine with great food
