Saw the Iceland Visitor's Guide ad for this food hall in a beautifully re-imagined old dairy and stopped in. What a great space right at the intersection of Hwy 1 and 34 in Selfoss. Industrial-chic building now houses many styles of cuisine. You order at the separate counters, get a beeper and pick a centrally located table or seat to wait until notified your order is ready for pickup. I had an exquisite cod plate at Samuelsson Matbar (full review there) while hubby chose a yummy garlicky penne pasta in tomato sauce from Romano Italian. Perfect place for groups with different tastes or anyone looking for good food served quickly. There's also a craft beer tap room and a Skyr exhibition and smoothie bar.

Had lunch here after sightseeing. Was a little concerned that it might be full of coach trippers and impersonal, but it had quite a cool vibe. There a several restaurants within a food hall so you can buy food from different vendors but still eat together. I had a veal rib eye sandwich with truffle fries and hubbie had fish tacos, which he liked so much he had seconds. You order your food and are given a bleeper, which will tell you when your food is ready, so you dont have to stand in a queue. There was also a good bar there.

I searched google maps for a restaurant in the area i was visiting and found the Old Dairy Mill. Finding multiple restaurants and eateries inside. Samúelsson Matbar caught my eye for being more Icelandic than the rest and I wasn’t disappointed! The waister was helpful, kind and very well spoken English. I sampled a beer to see if it was to my liking and he helped me with his personal choice from the menu. This is no exaggeration when i saw the duck was the best i have ever had. Tender, fell of the bone and accompanied by a gorgeous mash potato and a delicious coleslaw (raspberries were in it… i had no idea). The slaw had an amazing crunch to it which complimented the tender duck and the sauce topped it off. The dessert was Lava Cake and my oh my… this was stunning also. Hot inside and out. Gooey, rich and balanced with a helping of smooth ice cream and blueberries. 10/10

At 19:00 on a Friday evening restaurants should have prepared the weekend. Not so much at this place. Every time I go there (4 times) there is something missing from the ingritents. The food it self is just like any other takeaway. Small doses and high prices and seating availability is very poor.

This place has gotten mixed reviews by the public so I wanted to see for myself. The outside seating are not finished so the group of remade old houses are not as connected as they probably will be. The tables outside were scattered most likely due to people moving them around and some had no chairs. Staff tried to be quick about cleaning them but people were scrambling for tables and chairs and it was a mess. We opted to sit inside. Munch of the seating is a high chair seating in the middle of the room and people constantly brushing up against you and we felt totally in the way. The layout could be done better expecially during a pandemic where one wants to socially distance as much as possible. Hand sanitizers were only by the food service areas. I had tacos at El Gordito. I had 3 different but they ended up tasting very similarly due to the same vegetables being used with all the proteins. The pulled pork was the most distinct one. They took a little too long to make as I was the last one to get my food (the others had pizza)

Food court has a variety of options to please all. The five of us came here for dinner all getting the Thai food, chicken with noodles, panang chicken that came with egg rolls and fried shrimp served over rice. All were good, nice change of pace adding a little spice.

Samúelsson MATBAR does amazing food as well as drinks. The cod melted in my mouth, it was so good. The whole place (The Old Dairy) had a great atmosphere and I loved that you can order different foods for the same table. Second time here, last night my husband has Thai and I had tacos, perfect!

This is a Mall like eatery complex with several cuisines to choose - Thai, Mex, Italian, burgers, fish.... It's set in a beautiful restored building in the very center which used to be the Iceland first dairy factory collecting milk from farmers. Prices are reasonable (for Iceland) - in any of the above a main will cost you around 20$ pp. We tried burgers, Mex and dumplings and I must admit all were delicious.

Stopped in Selfoss on the way back to Keflavik from Jokulsarlon. Happened upon the food hall and The Old Dairy quite by chance. There were no vegan options on the menu but the chef said he could knock something up for us. What he 'knocked up' was the tastiest sandwich we ever had, perfectly seasoned with mushrooms, aioli and deep fried Oumph served with a generous portion of seasoned fries. Forgot to take the before picture but the after picture also tells a tale! The chef was keen for feedback on the meal and chatted in perfect English about his efforts to create vegan food that's as tasty as meat and he achieved that to perfection. The beer was pretty delicious too!

The old dairy house in Selfoss is the centerpiece of the new downtown area of selfoss. The new downtown is one the most successfull construction projects in the history of Iceland. It is a downtown area with historic Icelandic houses that were burned down or demolished rebuilt with a touch of modernity. The old dairy house in Selfoss is a food hall offering a variety of resturants. If you come here with your family everyone can get something they like. Even though the selection of resturants is not quite as excellent as the other food halls in Iceland i would say the overall feel and charm of the place more than makes up for that. To summarize this place is a must visit and i cannot wait for the second phase of the new downton to finish being built

Order your food from a dozen different places, grab seat in the bar and order drinks, and then pick up your food when it's ready. Everyone can get a different cuisine. The food was excellent. Great value. Across the street from the Hotel Selfoss. Wish we had this at home.

Low key place to have supper, yet top notch food. Pick from 5-6 venders, none close to chain style restaurants. All of what we ate was very tasty, especially the mushroom soup and lamb from Samuelsons.

The place is absolutely gorgeous, very cute where you can eat / drink together (different menu), vegan options. If you come across Selfoss, please take time to come here. We arrived too late to visit skyland and we were so disappointed. Love the place :)

We weren't expecting fancy dining outside of Reykjavik, so a food hall with several international dining choices was a pleasant surprise. I had a dim sum dish which was okay, but not up to the standards you'd expect in London, New York or San Francisco. My wife enjoyed her cod plate with vegetables.
