Fantastic food

We stopped for lunch during our visit to Meteora. We have ordered Baked Feta cheese with walnuts, vegetable pie and sauteed mushrooms. Food was divine! My husband even praized the chef which is something very rare.

Great Greek food experience

In a very touristic town like Kalabaka, I was lucky to find this nice looking restaurant serving good quality authentic Greek food. Very good and polite service, showing appreciation to the customer. Great experience and highly recommended.

Authentic and Delicious Very Fresh Greek Food

Delicious food that included meatballs in a yummy stew, grilled vegetables perfectly prepared, and a shepherd salad of carrots, fresh greens, and supple mushrooms. All of that plus the yummiest bread totaled less than 30 euro. Big black-and-white photos on the walls show family members from years gone by prepping meals and lend a lovely air of authenticity to this favorite local Greek restaurant. The waiter's gentle and attentive air made the experience especially marvelous. We'll go back tomorrow for day 3 of our stay in Meteora.

Bad vibe in Valia Calda Restaurant

This is a very bright, modern place. BUT why serve a dish Spinach Pie when it is totally inedible - crust so hard we could not cut it, it was not even lukewarm, the spinach filling was tasteless. We felt like fools because the waiter said it was one of the Specials that night. So, what does he do? Right in the middle of us finishing our Greek salad he brings a Cream Pie piece saying it's for us from the restaurant!! Everyone in the restaurant got a piece, the gratuitous sweet at the end of a Greek meal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

To summerize, we fell in love with this restaurant. When we arrived (near 5 pm, so out of classical service time) we got welcomed nicely. The service is amazing, the food is EXTRAORDINARY, and big up to the waiter who made us laugh and suggested exactly what we needed. You have to try, nothing more to say.

If you are looking for an authentic dining experience in the heart of Meteora, look no further than Valia Calda Restaurant. This little gem offers a variety of traditional Greek delights that will delight your taste buds and keep you coming back for more. Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the owner, a really nice and welcoming person. His knowledge of the menu and his willingness to customize my meal made the experience much more enjoyable. I had originally intended to order three separate dishes, but at his suggestion, I opted for a single dish which he expertly created for me. The star of the meal was undoubtedly the lamb, cooked to perfection and tender as butter. The meat melted in your mouth, leaving a trail of robust, aromatic flavours. Accompanying the lamb was an exquisite spiced Greek cheese that added a creamy, tangy note to the dish. But the surprise doesn't end there, the fried aubergines seasoned with garlic and spices were the perfect complement, adding a crunchy texture and sweet and sour taste that balanced the dish beautifully. To wet my throat, I opted for the local beer, Plastigga, which was a great choice. Served in a generous half-liter bottle, this beer has a slightly smoky flavor that paired beautifully with the richness of my meal. Its refreshing taste was exactly what I needed to cleanse my palate between bites. All in all, the value for money offered by Valia Calda Restaurant is exceptional. The generosity in serving large portions without compromising on quality is something I appreciate immensely. This, combined with the genuine hospitality of the owner and the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, makes Valia Calda a must for anyone visiting the Meteore area. Overdue review: best in Kalambaka

I feel bad I didn't leave a review last time. Sorry. I was looking for the best restaurants in Kalambaka, and this one came up among the top. From the pictures I recognized that I actually already ate here 2 years ago, and I remember clearly that the food was indeed excellent, the staff was super nice, and I especially remember their interior, and the pictures which include their amazing grandmother, who I think was in her 90s or even 100. I'm going there immediately.

The hotel directed us, we went with the recommendation of the hotel we stayed in. First of all, we drank the best wine there, we chose a wine from the Meteora region... The portions are very large, there is the dish of the day and the soup of the day, there are grilled meat varieties, the mixed grill pan was quite delicious.. 3 main courses, 2 appetizers, wine and We paid 80 Euros including water.

This is the best restaurant we have eaten at in Greece. Expertly prepared regional dishes using fresh local ingredients make dining here a highlight. The menu has great options for both carnivores and vegetarians. We started with local cheese and thick slices of homemade brown and white bread. A vegetable dish of grilled wild mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini and peppers followed. Grilled lamb chops with broad beans and orzo with wild Forrest mushrooms completed our meal. Then finally complementary desert of rice pudding with pears appeared. If you enjoy great food this is a wonderful choice.

We loved this place and wished we had the chance to visit again. The waiters were great and the food was really, really good. The wine was very good at a great price and one of the waiters told us where to buy it to take with us. Would recommend and visit again…and again.

If you want a starter, main course and dessert within an hour and want to get the bill on the table after your last bite without any questions, so you have enough time for other things the rest of the evening and your table frees up for other fast eaters, this is the place to be. The waiters have elevated fast food to sport and are very skilled at this. There's no waiting. After the order, where the waiter advises, your food arrives almost immediately at the table and the main course arrives a fraction later than the starter, so you can combine the flavors nicely and you do not have to be afraid what you are going to talk about with your partner in the time between dishes. The quality of the food is quite ok; stew meat fairly tender, black fried pig nice and long baked so you don't have to be afraid of raw meat, pasta quite tasty but just not al dente. You don’t waste any time with coffee as the end because the bill is already on the table. All in all not bad by the nice service, although this restaurant will only stay in our memory by this review.

Best food in Greece!

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel Kosta Famissi and are so grateful for their recommendation. The food here was so tasty that we not only had lunch but came back for dinner. The staff took great care of us even when they were busy. The orzo pasta and the black pig were definitely two winning dishes.

We wandered the streets of Kalambaka and were welcomed by our waiter Tassos who reserved a table for us later that evening. The selection of traditional Greek dishes is very good, and all were excellently prepared. We especially recommend the meatballs, the grape leaves, and the trout. Wine selection was very good. Prices are excellent. And service was exceptional, especially by Tassos.

Wow. Loved this place! We had grilled veggies, stuffed peppers, walnut balls, huge salad, large beans, mushroom pasta, all super tasty and felt welcoming to the tummy. This is the place to enjoy a meal in Kalambaka, Greece. We are dreaming about going there tomorrow to try some of the other vegan options.

We just had a wonderful dinner at Valía Calde and I would say it’s one of the best so far on the trip. The food was fresh, interesting, well prepared with lovely flavors and much of it was vegan or vegetarian or gluten free. ( my husband abs I are vegetarians and he has celiac disease so imperative to not eat gluten). In addition our waiter (? Owner) was friendly and went out of his way to help and answer questions. We may eat there tomorrow night too! I do recommend that they label gf to those items that are . It would be helpful and - why not brag!
