Amazing find and great value for the money!

After checking Trip Advisor for some ideas of where to eat near us we chose El Coloso Arenal and it was so good we went back the next night. Portions were very generous and it was great value for the money. The chicken fingers were...the best my son has ever had. The julienne chicken was good as well as the pollo marron and the Cada Casado. Highly recommend!More

Had supper at Colosal Arenal. Great service, we both ordered chicken. Came with salad, fries or vegetables. Had one of each. Fantastic meal, English speaking server, Yuri. She was there when we needed her, just buzzing around the restaurant, great job! Not a high end...place, but very good. Highly recommended.More

Great soda/restaurant in La Fortuna

We stayed in La Fortuna for a couple of nights and ate our lunch as well as dinner here after a recommendation from the hotel - it’s not your typical ‘rustic’ soda so we weren’t sure initially what the price would be and were pleasantly...surprised (Casados CR 3,500). It’s decorated/furnished nicely so you didn’t feel like youre eating on the roadside, the food was great and the service fantastic - there was a coffee tour eating on our first visit and the young waiter even brought us over the traditional ‘percolator’ and explained what it was. Not sure why ‘vegan’ is mentioned as I only saw veggie but, if you asked for no queso on the casado you’d probably be able to ‘veganise’More

Delicious food

We were 3 nights in Arenal and had dinner here 3 nights. And ... delicious food! Nice and relaxed restaurant with friendly service. We actually only had the Casada (with a choice of beef, chicken, fish or vegetarian). A traditional Costa Rican dish that is...particularly tasty and varied here. Price quality is great! Portions are large (including the wine). Recommended!More

Great Dining

We arrived in La Fortuna late at night and took a chance at El Coloso. Our waiter recommended 2 of their best dishes, Chicken Cordon Bleu and steak they were both excellent. We also had their house Cabernet which was delicious. you should also get...the Nachos with guacamole, bean dip and salsa, so yummy. Our waiter was excellent.More

Delicious lunch following our ATV tour

Lunch at this restaurant was included in the cost of our ATV tour with Power Wheels. There is a special menu that the restaurant has just for the ATV tour guests. My fiance ordered the fish casado. I am vegetarian, and unfortunately none of the...items on the special menu were vegetarian! However, our great server Yuri told me not to worry, and had the kitchen prepare a special and delicious vegetarian casado for me! The service was great, and Yuri went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. Highly recommend!!More

Great meal for our tour group

Our tour group had a traditional lunch at El Coloso, and it was a GREAT meal. My son, his fiancé and I had the beef, my wife had the fish, and our daughter had the chicken. Our daughter (who is 25 years old) said that...the chicken was the best she has EVER had! The lemonade with peppermint was also good.More
