Also known as, Yershari, this restaurant never disappoints. There are a chain of Yershari restaurants in Shanghai and they each maintain the same high standards in terms of food quality and taste. The staff are extremely welcoming and work hard to accommodate all guests. There is an English menu and the grilled lamb kebabs, noodles, fried breads, aubergine dishes are outstanding. On some nights there is live dancing on the stage. It is a lively, warm and welcoming restaurant. Sometimes there is a line to get in, but that is proof of how good the food its! Do try this branch, or one of their many in Shanghai (both Pudong & Puxi sides!).

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Shanghai. I usually stay at Holiday Inn so the restaurant is very convenient- across the street. The food is fresh and absolutely amazing. I recommend the fresh tomato/cucumber salad, the lamb kebabs also their bread. Overall everything we have tried was really yummy. To me the taste is a combination of Chinese and Arabic flavor. The place is always packed so i suggest t make a reservation if you don't want to wait.

It was snowing outside these few days and we came in on a really cold day. No queue this time and we jumped right in. The skewed muttons on a small stick was so good we called another plate. This time we took the soup and the meat was tender too. The grilled fish came much later but it was not enough for 4 of us. Another round. We enjoyed the dance show which was at 12:30 and 12:50. Dancers looks like authentic xinjiang people and they are gorgeous! Another thumbs up for another meal!

Came to this restaurant a couple of times with my family (we live in Shanghai). Then decided that I can have a good dinner with my team here as well... Overall, very affordable and authentic Xinjiang chain of restaurant with locations around the city. The atmosphere is lively and packed, you will enjoy the great food options of beef, LAMB, chicken and fish... Great lamb skewers and roasted leg of lamb Then comes the dancing performance....Not to be missed

The place is very crowded and after taking queue # at 7pm, I'm settled around 7:45. They don't take reservation. I saw lots of food delivery been packed as well so kitchen is busy. It's Halal. So it's good if u can't take pork. So it's just muttons on every food level. It's tasty and tea infused with goat milk is also interesting. Good entertainment so I see lots of non Chinese that enjoyed the show. Good place to chill with beer and muttons!

I must say this is the best halal restaurant in Shanghai where you can take your Muslim clients. The food is not as good as the reataurant in Xi An. But this is Shanghai, the cosmopolitan where every tastes are available.

Located away from the centre of Shanghai. I don't usually go to this branch but has a voucher that couldn't be used at my usual branch so decided to give it a go. Management didn't inform staff on the voucher so it was a big scene to try and redeem it which included me ringing up the company who the voucher was distributed by and giving my phone to the manager to speak to and my phone being taken away for 20 mins! Completely ridiculous. Food was below standard to usual. Seats uncomfortable. Music too loud. Not my best yershari experience. Super brand mall branch is the only one I will visit now.

Best muslim restaurant in Shanghai. Just want to warn that if you come at 6PM you have to wait more than an hour to get vacant seat. Visit either before 6 PM or afte 7.30 PM for dinner.

1. Specialized on Authentic Xinjiang Cusine. 2. Great food 3. Great Environment, show started around 6:30 PM 4. No reservation, first come first serve. Line-up starts at 5:30 PM. Food we ordered and ate: 1. Special Beer from Xinjiang, various containers 3.6 lit. 2. Lamb chops - 5 pieces for 3 people - Excellent 3. Xinjiang Chicken - Organic - Great 4. Lamb in sticks, you must have 2 sticks each to get all the taste out. Great 5. Xinjiang Veggies - Average 6. Xinjiang Bread - thin - Great 7. Xinjiang Tea 8. Xinjiang finger fried rice - a little greasy At the end, we got rid of what we ate by walking 6 kilometers back to hotel. My friends said, the best he ever ate. Great Xinjiang Dance and beautiful dancers

The number of Russians eating at this restaurant attests to its Central Asian authenticity. Yogurt, lamb, are very good. The bread is okay.

Great halal option for the Muslim traveler. Ambience is suitable for families and casual business meals. There are dance performances in the evenings. If you're worried that you can't communicate in Chinese, look for the middle eastern restaurant manager toasts its you.

Food was good not very good. Quick service not perfectly friendly. I staid in a nearby hotel so it is convenient to visit this Restaurant. Nice is the dancing act they showed between 7:30 and 9:00. Two shows and one with a snake.

We were staying in hotel close by and were recommended this place by a local shanghai colleague. The entrance process was interesting with taking a ticket and waiting for your number to be called for a table. With it all in Chinese not so easy, and it is very popular with both locals and tourists. There are periodic floor shows that are a bit noisy but quite entertaining. A tip on the food - you get what looks like a paper place mat - in fact it is your meal order! Check the separate menu and tick the items on the paper place mat you want and hand it to your waitress who may not speak English. The sharing platters are great especially if you like lots of food. Good quality food and service is quite prompt. One other point, we were not sure but thought the beer we were drinking was alcohol free, which as it is mainly Muslim style Chinese food would fit.
