Had afternoon tea here, and was seated near the window. Absolutely beautiful view outside, along with quaint decor on the inside. As one of my kids was above 6 years old, we had to order another set for her - which I thought is fair....Service by Robin was polite and prompt. Overall, a good experience!More

Oh please! We had the afternoon tea - Christmas set. The scones were unrecognisable as such, and were the texture of cardboard - at least a week old; the red velvet 'yule log' was mushy and vacant of any taste or texture; the savouries were...all bland and, with eyes closed, completely unidentifiable; something that can be only loosely be described as a prawn hotdog was soggy, the bread inedible; the cheesecake was placed on a cheap biscuit; the whole miserable effort was served on a cheap plastic stand that wouldn't have looked out of place in Toys r Us. All this can be yours for a mere 388 RMB (only 688 RMB for two)! Needed a stiff Scotch in the Long Bar to recover (the bar at least is worth 5 stars).More

Good for those who wants to have gourmet afternoon tea near bund area like old times, but be prepared to pay almost 90 usd for a afternoon tea and some dessert, does it worth? I do not know but ‘not my cup of tea’

High tea at the Salon de Ville Waldorf Astoria was an event that cannot be missed. Like high tea at Harrods or the Empress in Victoria, this high tea ranks at the top. Lori and Helen provided excellent service and they could not have done...enough for us and made sure our experience was the best.More

I highly recommend Salon De Ville for Afternoon Tea. The food and tea is exquisite and a ‘must if’ if you are staying at the Waldorf Astoria. A 5* experience at a 5* hotel! The surroundings are elegant. There is a relaxed atmosphere and at...3pm a harpist starts to play. Our highlight of our visit, was the impeccable service by Robin. He was very professional and we were most impressed. Thank you very much.More

High Tea here is like being transported back in time, old world charm in a fantastic location by the Bund. This room is worthy of a visit, it’s probably one of the most classic - if not the most classic - and elegant rooms by...the Bund. Comes with a five-star service too.More

The Salon de Ville is about the highest class tea stall East of the Suez Canal, including harp music and an incredible atmosphere! One can relax the entire afternoon here, from limited opening hours for limited people!
