Those are the best dumplings I have ever tasted. Must try!! Place doesn’t look much, but food is excellent, give it a try!

When you are a dumpling lover this is a must-visit place during a stay in Shanghai. All dumplings they serve (famous fried, or traditional cooked) are delicious. All fillings are tasty, seasoned well, the dough is very good - in cooked one it is as it should be and in fried one it is crunchy. My favourite fillings are - shrimps and crab meat. I also tried wonton sup - very good one as for fast food type bar. Regarding the place - let's be honest, it is a cheap fast food type of bar. You seat where you find a free spot, the sticks are reusable (of course cleaned every time), and you can find some dirt (pieces of dumplings, or broth) on tables or chairs. But service is doing what they can to clean is as fast as possible (because sometimes there are queues outside, approx. 10 minutes of waiting). Definitely recommended!

It was very close to our hotel. We went hungry at the first night. And came back again and again. These dumplings are delicious, satisfying and of very god price. The simplicity of the place adds to memorable meals

No wait in the early afternoon. Point to dumplings, pay, turn around and motion that you’d like to eat in or take out. Dumplings are seriously good (and juicy!! Watch that first nibble). Cheap eats for sure.

Tasty and good price. Most of them are soup dumplings which are very tasty. Would recommend the shrimp dumplings.

These are so delicious, the outer skin is soft with crispy fried bottom part. The fragrance and taste are just so nice that once you think of it, you just feel like eating it. We try Prawn, meat and vege and the prawn filling was really generous. Meat and vege also quite delicious. Caution. Hot soup in the dumpling, so don't get yourself burnt.

These dumplings lose some of their doughy steamed texture as they are partly fried, and that was exactly what we were looking for as a welcome change! Three types: crab, shrimp, or pork. If you order one kind, they do come in a plate of 4, despite just one being pictured on the menu. You can also get some mixed and matched. Soups were good too! They don't speak English but the Mandarin/English menu is on the counter so you can point. After ordering, you take your receipt to the window beside and give it to the person making the dumplings. Soup is at the back but they gave us a plastic number and then delivered it to our table. Quite a busy place but we were able to find seats. Also a word of caution: take a small bite of the dough and slurp the soup out of the dumpling before trying to eat it. This minimizes burning your self and also having the soup run everywhere when you take a bite!

I love these dumplings. We have been eating them for the past two years and always order the Dumpling Plate. I have always given a 5-star review. This visit was different. I saw a sign on the wall at the Ningbo Road location advertising Crab Powder dumplings and decided to give them a try. When they arrived they were no different than what was included on the dumpling plate. I told the lady at the counter with the Chinese Translation app two times that these were not the dumplings I ordered and that they were not the crab powder dumplings from the picture. Each time she told me that they were the correct order. Do not order the Crab Powder dumplings.

This is a chain, so, you can find branches of these stalls at a few locations. The one we went to was next to the pearl tower. Business is brisk. The process is such: order what you need at the counter and take your number. Then find a table and the food will be served almost immediately. The place was quite crowded, but, folks move in and out quite fast and we managed to get tables to eat in a matter of minutes. The dumplings are fried and come with different fillings. I had no idea what I ordered. Not being a native mandarin speaker, I just pointed at pictures and spoke numbers in broken mandarin. So, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. When the dumplings arrived - it was Wow. Never had this taste before. No idea what i ordered, but it was really good. Especially for me, I eat them with the chilli oil and like that mix of spice. So, i can safely recommend that even if you dont know whats in the dumplings, they all taste good - so, go ahead and radomly order.

Very delicious fried dumplings. The crab dumplings are amazing but the regular Yangs dumpling are great too. You get FOUR for a little more than 1usd! Insane. Service is typical - fast and to the point. We also tried the hot and sour pork intestine noodle - Fantastic!!! Pro tip: to eat dumplings without making a mess/burning your face, make sure to get a spoon, put dumpling on spoon, poke a whole into dumpling, drain soup from dumpling, and then enjoy, DO NOT BITE OR STUFF DUMPLING INTO MOUTH.

Heaven! Their sesame dumplings were the best food I had on my trip. I only discovered them near the end of my trip so the last day I went back for breakfast, lunch ànd dinner. Highly recommended! Even though I usually don’t have any problems eating with chopsticks, here I was struggling not to splash the juice of the dumplings all around - so don’t wear your best clothes ;-) Don’t miss this place when in Shanghai, they are so delicious!

These fried dumplings were pretty good! English menu at the front, but staff speaks maybe two words. Very curt and not at all remotely friendly. It was very busy when we went around 7, so be prepared to sit with strangers. Ended up ordering 3 orders of Yang’s Dumplings, they were out of the Dumpling Plate, and a soup. It came out to around 50 CNY.

We stayed around the corner from here for 6 days. The dumplings are awesome. My favorite really. However the cashier is horrid. We came here many times. First couple of times no problem. Then we went in and the woman cashier stared straight ahead not acknowledging us, not telling us to leave, she just stared in a catatonic state no matter what we said, in Chinese or English, until we left. We tried again, later that day same woman, it went okay she took our order and money. Our last day we were looking forward to our favorite dumplings. We stood in line and waited our turn. When it became our turn the same woman cashier who was there all week ignored us again. She started taking orders and money from people behind us in line no matter how much we tried to object and get her attention. Just crazy! So two stars for service, 0 some days three others. The guy actually dishing out dumplings is great. The people at the Huanghe location seem to all be good so given a choice go there. I don't know what is wrong with the lady here. I would be concerned if sometimes our interaction didn't go completely fine and normally.

People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
