If you think Starbucks is expensive, try the reserve, it's over the top! The location is good and there is a nice sitting area if you can manage to find a seat. The coffee is usual Starbucks quality.
This place is more like a coffee museum rather than a coffee shop. The two-storey building houses a large collection of machines ranging from the grounding of coffee beans to the brewing of beverages. Staff are professional and possess good knowledge of coffee. Customers can...enjoy freshly brewed coffee drinks on site or bring home their choices of packed coffee and other exclusive souvenirs.More
Good for a single experience to see the design and coffee roasting cuve. Crowded, not a place to enjoy your coffee (that is over sweetened there). A fashionable place, nothing more, unless you are a Starbucks fan.
An extremelly impressive ambience with the 'live' witness of how coffee beans being processed besides the nice, huge and ample surroundings to enjoy coffee with your friends or family members in it. A place you wanna keep patronizing with a vast range of selections in...the souveniers sold.More
As much as I hate to admit it, but I wanted to spend money in that place (even though everything is so overpriced - from croissants to coffee). The concept and execution are impeccable. Many different mini cafes under one roof, include a bar serving...normal and coffee cocktails (alcoholic and not). Great pastries and cakes.
But most importantly the design of the place make it look and feel like a trendy hi fashion hang out, not a coffee shop. The roasting vats and transparent pipes shuttling coffee beans, kind of remind me brewery visits.
Definitely a place to visit - worth spending the money and lining up to enter. Just don't get addicted to it, because it will get expensive ;)More
It was an experience to go to this Starbucks reserve. The place is huge. Expect to stand around alot because there is limited seating and Shanghai has a lot of people. Eventually, you can sit after someone gets up to walk around. They have coffee...roasting machines in there, snack-ie type food and coffee tasting. Mostly I felt like this was a place to sell their merchandise (clothes and everything related to coffee).More
Not a fan of Starbucks in general, but we had to check out what had been the largest Starbucks in the world until the week before we got there when an even larger Starbucks opened in Seattle.
It was impressive-looking, with giant sparkling copper machinery...and enormous roasters, conveyor belts with bagged coffee floating through and coffee contraptions every way you look. There was a beautifully choreographed and elaborate ritual performed to create a siphon brewed single-origin. About 8-10 bucks later... not really drinkable coffee emerged.
All of the drinks, while dramatically created, looking very hi-tech and scientific, were... meh. And of course, overpriced. If the coffee is not good, then all of the bells and whistles in the world leave you dissatisfied in the end.
Go to a local small cafe and save your bucks for other stars.More

Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have quiet cafes and independent boutiques.

Unfortunately, I don’t know. We bought two tumblers there and they look great. So, if we lost one, we would feel bad.
My husband has a Starbucks tumbler mug from Hawaii. The handle broke off after several years.

A great idea if you enjoyed Shanghai, a great reason to visit again and visit the Roastery. Hawaii sounds great to.
