Ambiance is nice, cozy, warm, well appointed, inviting. Service is bit laid back, can be prompt & responsive. Staff is courteous but fawning for tips. Food is delicious, simple, authentic flavours of local cuisine. But Govindbhog rice should have been steaming hot. It’s just lukewarm...at best. Prices are high, but for overall experience it’s ok once a while. Rest rooms need to be increased on both ground and first floors to ease congestion & queue. Restrooms can be maintained better. Overall a nice dining experienceMore

We had the buffet. One veg and one non veg + one extra Daab Chingri. The ambience was excellent and very tastefully done. The food was made available immediately being a buffet. However it was hot and fresh. Special mention of the Pabda Fish, Mutton,...Daab Chingri, Mishti Doi, Luchi and Begun Bhaja. Must have. Not to be missedMore

A friend took us there for real Bengali food. We had fried fish, deal, paratha and some vegetarian dishes that were delicious. Non alcoholic. Lived the fresh lime sodas and Lassi ( yoghurt drink pronounced Luss ie).

Very nice place to take everyone if you are in a mood for pure and authentic Bengali food that is typically seen only in Bengali homes. Names of their entrees, drinks are quite thoughtful and very authentic with Bengali film reference or characters and take...is pretty good. Food is quite expensive but they are presented really nice and garnished well. Plenty of hosts/hostess looking after you while you dine in.More

I visited the Choauranghee outlet near Kolkata Exide more. Food is extremely costly and quality is good but not extraordinary. We took fishfry which is 250 RS per piece but size is not large rather a medium size, we can get better quality fishfry in...many places in Kolkata itself in better rate. Also we had spicy chicken curry it's cost 575 for 4 pis of Chicken but it's acceptable considering the place is a reputed chain but the chicken pieces are not at all tender rather but hard so that's disappointing. Any way it's a mixed experience..More

Named after the...location of its first outlet, which used to be the bungalow of a former Rai Bahadur, the restaurant spotlights unexplored aspects of Bengali cookery. “We have always served authentic Bengali food using the best ingredients available, thus maintaining quality from day one. We have also introduced a lot of lost recipes, which were at one point in time cooked in almost every Bengali home,” says Chef Sushanta Sengupta, Founder Director and Executive Chef of 6 Ballygunge Place.More

Restaurant serves good authentic Bengali culinary delights, but overall the experience was marred by the services in the restaurant! My elderly father who has mobility issues had to climb the few stairs as there was no wheelchair accessibility, and the solitary toilet serving the toilet...was busy with queues outside and no cleaning in between uses. There should be at least a separate one for men and women as the general public has no sense and courtsey of using public toilets. Plus lunch hour can get very very busy and you should always make a reservation before venturing to the restaurant!More

This place doesn’t need any review, the food and hospitality speaks for itself! However, would like mention that they really looked after my guests extremely well, it was a small family get together. Spl mention goes to Hostess Kajal, she really looked after us well....Keep up the good work👍🏻 and the manager (sorry can’t recollect his name).More

If you are a mood of some pure Bengali food, this place certainly can cater your needs. Very conveniently located right of crossing of Chowringhee Rd and AJC rd; has parking in the building. Food options are really awesome with some innovative names and terminology...used in Bengali films and history. Everything we ordered was pretty good and “Chetol maacher Peti” was awesome. Stuffed crab was super awesome and the luchi was fresh and scrumptious Great place to spend some quality time and quality foodMore

We had been there twice during our fortnight long stay in Kolkata this year. The ambience was culturally appropriate... the restaurant had the look of a traditional 'Bari' .... house in Bengal. The food was super delicious.... Mochar ghonto... curry made with banana flowers, prawns...in delectable gravy and an amazing chutney made with tomato and raw mangoes. On the second occasion, we had our all time favourite chicken and bhetki fish... it was mouth watering to say the least. What I truly liked was their sincerity and honesty... we asked for 'Illish'...Hilsa fish.... and they told us that they won't recommend it in that season ..end of winter..as it is not the very best.More
