The last time I have been here was 5 years ago. Food is good as always but way too much overpriced. I paid 700 baht for one 250-gram grilled river prawn. The average price at other restaurants is only 500-600 baht. My favorite dish at this place is green curry with fishball.

This restaurant has been open for more than 50 years. Located along the Pa Sak River in the city of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, it has received the Michelin Guide for 2 years in a row.
If you look at it from the front entrance of the store, it won't be very eye-catching. Because it is an old wooden house This is different from the nearby shop building which was newly built and stands out. Opposite the shop is the parking lot of this restaurant. You can park your car and walk across the road to the restaurant on the other side.
The atmosphere inside the store is good. Because you can see the scenery of the Pa Sak River. while eating food
The award-winning menu is Green curry with fish balls and grilled shrimp. I ordered grilled shrimp to eat. By choosing to order the largest size Most expensive to eat Delicious taste, fresh shrimp It is carefully grilled. Because the head of the shrimp is cut a little, the oily part will flow down onto the shrimp meat. If comparing the price with the quality, it is still not reasonable. The price is quite a bit high.
The service staff was late and sent the wrong menu. The grilled shrimp menu that was ordered differently from other tables was served. It's good that I didn't eat. He hurried to get it back first.

Nice located restaurant at the river, and when you enter the restaurant you see a cosy atmosphere. The Thai menu card is large, the English card is 1/4rd long. They are not foreseen for tourists and English is not easy.
We were with 4, so tried different things. The prawn of 700TBH is not recommended (too expensive for what it is). The fried garlic fish was good value for money! The fried rice could be better in taste.
At 20:30 the music was shut down, and the 3 remaining tables were made clear to go home. A pitty.
Summary: it is average and there was more potential...

This restaurant is a little hidden gem. The venue is on the river with great views and cool breezes. The service is efficient and you never feel neglected.
The cherry on the cake however is the food...it is fantastic local food, very tasty and extremely cheap for what you get. Our meals were typical Thai and not a morsel was left on the plates.

This is the same text as I wrote in Google:
The best aspect for this restaurant is the location.
Rest is a bad dream:
- service staff did not show any ambition for their job when we ordered.
- the food is extremely overpriced. A good Tom Yam Gung should not cost more than 150THB. A small cup of soup here costs 300THB.
- the soup itself was the worst Tom Yam we have ever experienced. In my life I tried almost 150 times a Tom Yam Gung in Thailand. Taste here: flat! Exactly 3 shrimps were in the soup. Two of them were only remaining heads from shrimps used for other food. Call it waste or trash. The other ingredients were minor quality. Like the used ginger or the lemon grass.
Summary: this restaurant is focussed on mass tourism (I guess during lunch it is filled with busses with chinese tourists), provides overpriced bad quality food from staff which don‘t like their job.
Don‘t go in!

The tourist cart is not the same as for locals. Be careful to what you ask for and what you get, they tend to get it wrong. Maybe intended.. They mess up two of our orders, and I’m pretty sure that they understood what we wanted.
It’s also terrible expensive to what it is. The prawn is just ok, not worth the price.
Would not recommend.

We were brought here by a friend that lives in Bangkok when she took us to Ayutthaya. The food was fresh, local, authentic, and delicious. We had the tom yum soup, fried river fish and a few other items and everything was excellent. The view of the river and the enormous barges that passed were an added bonus, as was the little alley you walk through to get to the restaurant, with its little fish ponds, birds fussing in cages, and the rustic rest rooms. All in all a wonderful and authentic experience.

Superb seafood in Ayutthaya on the river bank. Super fresh , tasty and huge prawns. We also had deep fried battered prawns, corn sticks and green vegetable. All tasted fantastic with a nice sweet dipping sauce.
Tom yum goong was good but sadly lacked a little flavour and spice.
But the prawns are to die for. The dipping sauce was beautifully balanced with spice, salt from fish sauce and zest from limes.
If you get a table close to the outside you can enjoy a great view of the river.

Very pleasant location with live music nightly on river. Food was pleasing and well presented, but fully priced. Experience was ruined by absolutely inattentive service. Servers were unapoligetic over error in ordering. If I returned, I would do the bar for drinks and listen to the music.

This is a great riverside restaurant, the food and location being excellent, we were fortunate that our guide translated our tastes and ordered the food for us, the translated menu is limited, the Thai menu is vast, the Tom Yum superb.
Oh and make sure you have your mosquito repellent on, it is on the riverside.

This is a great restaurant set in an old Thai house on the Chao Phraya. Great location, nice breeze and imporantly great food. Despite being extremely busy at 1pm the staff were very efficient. My advice is to come with friends so you can try as much as possible.

I've been there with my girlfriend for Christmas'eve.
The place is beautiful. Right in front of the river crossing Ayutthaya with a terrace that is literally on the river.
The atmosphere is very relaxing with the boats passing at your side.
We got the shrimps, which are not bad but not worth the price you pay for them (700 thai baht each).
Personally, I think the real deal is their Tom Yum Goong with shrimps. It's a soup with lemon grass, cassia leaf, galangol, onion, cherry tomato and shrimps. So much flavour and freshness. This is about 300 thai baht (normally it costs between 130- 180) but I have to say is the best Tom Yum Goong I've had in Ayutthaya.
The place is expensive and with European prices (it is like eating in a good place in your country), but once in a while it's worth.

We are an American family traveling with our Thai family on a day trip from Bangkok. This restaurant is a family run place that has tables along the river with a beautiful view of the water and the boat traffic.
We ate excellent grilled river prawns as well as Ayutthaya regional food. The size of the prawns were huge and cooked to perfection (juicy and delicious). The cured beef dishes were also tasty.
Afterwards, the restaurant helped us hire a long boat for a 1 hour river cruise that was very enjoyable. There is a small parking lot across the street where we parked our van.

This restaurant is not far from the bridge over the Chao Praya, and an easy tuk tuk or bicycle ride from the centre of town.
Thr restaurant is in a long terrace by tbe river which has water trickling down the front to cool the air. There is also a floating pavillion.
I went with a Thai friend who told me this restaurant was a family favourite that he visited frequently in his childhood, and that it had been here "forever".
I was assured by my friend that the food was real style Thai food with none of the tourist embellishments.
We ordered tuna with lotus in a gravy which was deliciously salty.; banana flower salad with chicken which also had boiled egg, lemon grass, crushed peanuts, fresh mint, and was sweet and lemony; prawn fried rice: green curry with "clown knife" fish balls with 2 different types of eggplant, and basil, which was tasty and quite apicy; and soft drinks.
The also have the famous Ayuttaya river prawns for 600B each, which we did not have.
What sets this place apart is the old style traditional cooking and the relaxing location riverside.
The total bill for 2 was 620B.
