Working season: 23 April - 30 September The Emona Restaurant is situated on the sea-shore, in the south-east of the old Nessebar, at the end of the main street called ‘Messambria’. The restaurant has more than two hundred seats, one hundred and fifty of which are panoramic, with a view to Bourgas Bay and Emine Cape (the cape has actually given the restaurant its name). More than a hundred of the panoramic seats on the sea-shore are protected from the summer heats and showers by beautifull designed bowers. The restaurant blends old Greek style with Bulgarian renaissance style, both of which are typical of the old Nessebar. The terrace is designed like a big garden with a lot of exotic flowers, alpinariums and pools with running water. The restaurant is one of the places on the Bulgarian sea-side that you visit the most. The Emona Restaurant offers you a varied menu including fish, sea delicacies, lamb specialties, chicken, pork and veal, vegetarian dishes and especially selected wines.

Should be number 1 in Nessebar! We’ve been coming for 17 years and tried many many restaurants. Finally found one that ticks all the boxes. To start with the atmosphere and welcome you get from staff is lovely, inviting and the ambience is romantic and family friendly at the same time. The staff, I’ve downplay finally a restaurant where all the staff are all happy and so good at what they do. Not just a summer job to them, there’s something different about them. Our waiter was great, he asked if we would like anything to start (along with our drinks order) which as you will know on Bulgaria never happens. We got our started so quick and then he took our main order. the timing was perfect! The food was amazing… 10/10. The first restaurant where we got starters turned up separate from main, it was lovely and not rushed. When we ordered our main our son wasn’t feeling too great so he didn’t fancy anything, when the mains came out he changed his mind, the waiter was so accommodating and got his order out to us within 5 mins, maybe less! The food was faultless, the whole experience was that good we’ve booked again this Saturday to take our friends. The price is so reasonable as well.

We were walking around the streets and the scenery of the restaurant caught our eye so we decided to sit in for dinner. The waiter Dinko came to our table with 2 super fresh fish and offered to put it on the grill for us. The fish was amazing we cleaned our plates. The 2 kids shared a margarita pizza and loved it, recommended to dip the crust in the olive oil.
Looking over the sea, amazing breeze, this was a great and authentic dinner experience.

After several years we returned to Emona for dinner, our first impression was how busy it was with a short wait to get a table but as soon as we were seated a waiter arrived to take a drink’s order, we perused the menu and decided on Lamb chops again the waiter arrived after a short time to take our order. Then the maitre’d approached us to say he remembered us from 5 years ago and my comments regarding the duck, ( now unavailable ), he asked what we and ordered and promptly ensured the BBQ chef new how we wanted our lamb cooked. The meal was perfect ! Considering how busy it was,(the staff were at times running ), I was very impressed.

Disappointing experience at "Emona": rude service, overpriced food, bland taste. Not recommended. Will not visit again. Food was without taste, waiter was rude, cocktails didn’t contain alcohol. Overrated place. Next time I will double check reviews before visiting such place.

Chose this restaurant as many reviewers rated it very highly. The setting was gorgeous with its outlook over the sea and the pretty flowers mingling beautifully around the tables. However the prices seemed quite high - we had almost exactly the same type of food/drinks that we’d had a few nights previously in another restaurant, but at Emona we paid TWICE as much. I appreciate one pays for the view/setting but this seemed a bit of a rip-off. The other disappointment was that the starter, then mains, arrived so quickly we weren’t able to enjoy lingering over the meal and drink, and we were in-out in less than an hour.

My family and I had dinner at this restaurant. We had a lovely table overlooking the supermoon rising over the Black Sea.
The waiter spoke good English and knew the menu very well. The food was well prepared but the portions were small (and the pricing was significantly higher than other parts of Bulgaria).
Overall, we enjoyed our meal.

We visited this restaurant during the evening as part of our visit to Nesebar. The restaurant was packed and we thought it would be a good place to eat… how wrong were we?!
A long wait for food, portions were ridiculously small when they came. They brought 4 portions of food to the table, and left the other one of us waiting for ages. The mashed potato on my dish was cold, I complained, only to be brought another plate of cold potato.
Flavour was good, but portions were small and not worth the money. The whole menu was very expensive!
Staff were very rude when we tried to speak to them and seemed rushed off their feet, they obviously couldn’t cope with how busy it was.
Would not recommend to anyone visiting Nesebar!!

When we went to Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, we loved to go on a boat to our beloved Nessebar, where we liked everything. The very atmosphere of the place was conducive to something romantic and pleasant. In 2016, while walking around Nessebar, we came across a cafe on the very seashore. While we were waiting for our order, we enjoyed the proximity to the sea, breathed the clean sea air, fed the seagulls... The cuisine, as far as I remember, was good. They brought a whole octopus, very tasty. Previously, in other cafes, when ordering this dish, they did not offer the whole octopus. In Emon, the octopus was intact and beautiful. The seafood soup was delicious. Well, I won’t say anything about mussels, because I really love their dishes and like everything. The wine was good and tasty. In general, if after so many years I remember a lot and write a review, it means it was a very pleasant cafe. If you have the opportunity to visit this place, I recommend it

We wanted to eat good meat and fish and the smell from the kitchen was very good. but then... they forgot our french frites (never got them) the lamb was overcooked and the waiter was clear when we received the bill that service was not included. It was almost 400 liv what is €200 voor 4 adults and 1 child (expensive for Bulgaria) without service. Because it was our last day we gave all the cash money that we had and payed the rest by card. The waiter said how much it was and we paid. Then he said he didin't got a tip. we said we will pay by card. He then got mad because tips are in cash and called us names for the entire restaurant. We said we only had cash in Euro's so he said we had to give hem that wich we did but I have never been that insulted in my life. Please do not go there.

The weather was horrible, and it might be a reason for this review. The rain suddenly started pouring down, and the staff perhaps was not quite ready for the influx of guests. There was a bit too many tabkes not safe from the rain, and we didnt get a good table. Not completely their fault, i dont think they realised the water was coming down that hard. We got seated, and ordered. The lemonade was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Had the cherry flavor and it was so good. Even if it was because they were out of all the other options. The food was so so. Mainly my order. My pizza was not optimal, as it was not cooked all the way through. Spaghetti bolognese was good. With the pizza for my part, mainly due to the rain, it was very hard to get the waiter, and just ate it instead. We were also seated where the rain was worse, which didn't make it easy for the waiters to get to us. They kept high spirits, and that itself was good. So service was good. And high praise for trying to keep a smile on the customers faces.

We went for a family dinner at this so called ''restaurant''. Terrible service from the begging. They didn't keep our reservation at all! The serving is a total mess. We waited almost 2 hours for 4 meals. The food is cold, tasteless and dangerous ( especially old seafood). We had the most disgusting sea food ever.
The waiters are unprofessional and very tired from all day work. They complained to us from work conditions. So it's clear that the service will be very bad.
Regarding the prices too high for such disgusting food and unprofessional service.
One thing is sure if you choose this "restaurant''-you will be very disappointed! There are much better places around.
Never again!

The waiters are unpleasent. We got our starters before main dishes which came in cold anyway. We got a dirty fork, and when asked for replacement the waiter basically rolled his eyes at us. Not to mention food coming in cold. Would not reccomend

The food at Emona was excellent - we ate here 4 times, even though we planned to try different restaurants every day. There is a lot of variety in the menu, and everything we tried was simply delicious. We went as 4 friends (2 couples, 1 of us vegetarian). The view to the sea is simply amazing, and the restaurant is very cozy and nice. The staff were friendly and even offered to translate the bill.
Like everywhere in Nessebar, the lemonade is sparkling water and made with syrup, so make sure to ask for sugar free (separate sugar in lemonade) if you are not used to it being very sweet. Excellent coffee as well.
The only downside is that it gets very crowded in the evening (the restaurant is quite big, and usually full at dinnertime) so you may not get a spot without a reservation. Also, in the evening it takes a bit of time for the food to arrive - this is normal considering there are many customers, but keep in mind if you are very hungry.

The restaurant view is very nice but the service is not ok. The waiter's attitude is not ok, we want to order some plates and he says that doesn't want to served that dish and suggested to us to order something else more expensive. We accepted hoping it will be a good choice. When we want to order the dessert he said to order after, but I think is not ok to wait more if I know what I want to eat. The waiter gived us the wrong soup and he doesn't want to admitt he made a mistake, and after we asked to give us the soup that we ordered his attitude was very bad. Starting that moment he ignore us and take the orders and start to serve the other persons that arrived after us. I received my fish after 1 hour and half after all my friends finish to eat and they have to wait for me.
When we ask for the bill, the waiter, with an incredible nerve he warned us that the service is not includided in the bill. With other words to give him tip. For what? For an incredible long waiting time for a grilled fish and a bad attitude?
The food is ok, the view is nice but the staff is a big problem, I don't recomand at all.

The whole experience is perfect, from the warm and friendly welcome, to the amazing food and perfect view. The staff makes you feel comfortable the whole time, the food is amazing, we've eaten alot of the foods they offer - seafood, pizza, pasta and everything is served without waiting. Great portions, great plating and last but not least - great taste. Each year we visit the seaside we come to this restaurant on our last night, it has a sentimental value to us and it is the perfect final touch to our vacation.
