I'm not sure why TripAdvisor ratings don't allow one to rate restaurants as "good." Instead, the ratings jump rather precipitously from "average" (a three) to "very good" (a four). Manos Jujenas isn't really either of those things. It is neither average nor very good. This...restaurant is good. And there's certainly nothing wrong with that! I don't have much to add beyond what other reviewers have already written. The interior is cozy and rustic. The restaurant is certainly not elegant ... and it's not trying to be. It's an authentic, traditional family restaurant. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is hearty and plentiful. But in my opinion, the food lacks a little spark ... I'd say most of what I ate was on the bland side. My wife added an entire serving of salsa picante to her order of mondongo to try to spice it up a bit. I thought the meat in my llama stew was a little tough ... it could have been improved with a few more hours over a low flame. The wine selection was unimaginative ... considering Jujuy has some wonderful, high altitude wines, I was surprised none of them were featured on the menu. I tried a regional aguardiente that I enjoyed ... incredibly strong but flavorful and intense, and very warming! So, all in all, I enjoyed my meal and would recommend the restaurant.More

A very pleasant surprise and opportunity to enjoy Andean food. We loved the locro and the picante de lengua, and will return to enjoy other choices in the menu. A can’t-miss experience while in San Salvador de Jujuy!

This is a very sound restaurant, a rarity in Jujuy where mediocrity reigns in the restaurant scene. It's no frills but the service is pleasant and the tone is set with a couple of tasty salsas with the introductory pan. While I wouldn't rate the...locro as out of this world it's tasty. The obligatory empanadas are also tasty. The wine prices are reasonable. Good enough for me!More

Serves traditional food. The service is very good! Don't expect the glamour of a Buenos Aires restaurant, but the food is very good and cheap! Serves llama meat and some corn dishes which are traditional in this area. The Tamal was good and so was...the llama lomo. Atmosphere was good with folk music.More

Stale bread, poor wine (Los Morros Malbec), and flavourless overcooked food (I had the llama steak with papas Andino and queso). Very dissapointing. Interior very aged. Only redeeming feature is friendly service.

went to this wonderful restaurant the last night of our stay in Jujuy and much preferred it to viracocha..this should be no.1! Christian our waiter was totally fantastic, and such good fun. (Despite us not speaking Spanish and him not speaking English!) the tamale was...the best we have ever tried and the trout was delicious. The meal was great value and so was the wine. The aubergine dip and spicy tomato sauce was to die for too! We kept asking for more and more. Couldn't recommend this place more, lovely staff, delicious food and great ambience!More

The place does not inspire much, dark, old... But the food is very good. I had the Lucro, which is a kind of heavy soup, with corn, beans and pieces of meet that was excellent. My wife had the Llama, which was also good, but...I could not taste it as I imagined the gentle animal. My daughter had pasta with tomato sauce and she liked it a lot, my son ate a Lomo (steak with pepper sauce) that he ate with gusto. All in all it was a good experience the looks of the place notwithstanding. The salads are simple but are good.More
