We came here because it was highly recommended by a friend. And believe you me we were glad that we did. they have the table all nice and set up because it was our one year anniversary they had rose petals and little cut out hearts and stuff. They had a personalized card written to us. And that the end of it they gave us a complimentary dessert which was scrumptious. Our server Brandon was awesome and very informative and had great recommendations. We enjoyed our food Brussels sprouts were badass. Crab cake badass. The adult beverage named Maverick was very good as was the Mango muleNeedless to say we won't think twice about coming back to Eddie V's just be ready to pay top $$$$.

An unforgettable experience in Austin. I started with Gulf Oysters and then a prime Rib-Eye Steak really juicy and excellent. thanks to Luigi, opur waiter. I had a beer while I was waiting, then a white Chardonnay to join oysters and then a Red wine from Sonoma really tasty. excellent dinner. price list in the average, nothing more than that. suggested.

We went to Eddie V’s from on the recommendation of our hotel shuttle driver. Having never been to the area before, he suggested we give it a try as he said the steak he had there was one of the top 3 he’d ever had in his lifetime. That was good enough for us so we went. Upon walking through the front door, we were promptly greeted by staff and it only took us a couple of minutes to be seated. The ambiance was great, the staff all dressed in white suit coats for the men and classy skirts for the ladies. After having been asked if it was our first time there, a chef brought over a shrimp appetizer just because. A little something to tantalize our taste buds, he said. It was great. I ordered a bacon wrapped filet, that had crab meat, asparagus and bernaise sauce which was AMAZING! Ginny ordered a stuffed sole, which had a crab and basil risotto with a lemon sauce inside. They were both simply fantastic. The staff during our visit were very attentive and couldn’t have made us feel more welcomed. I would highly recommend the trip to Eddie V’s in Austin TX to anyone and everyone passing through there.

Sadly, just like all the other good restaurants, once Corporate America becomes owner/operator it's never the same aka food becomes pedestrian but maintains high price tag.
We were also disappointed as my wife had requested a table out of the congestion path and it was for a very special occasion. They gave us a table top for two for four people in the worse location in the restaurant.
Never again.

Look, here's the scoop: If you can do the pricey dinner tab and have a date you want to woo The Right Way, then this is the place. Or at least one of The Places, let's put it that way. It's hard to get a vibe right for The Dinner Date experience (any kind or occasion), but these guys have it down.
It's the original construction, but it's aged well. The decor is pretty timeless, the location is pretty prime. Booths, tables with a view, tables where you can sit side by side, like me and my Lady. Good cocktails. It's cozy, with a nice bar. But, it's a restaurant so let's get to the point.
The food and the service, IMO, are amazing. The staff is personal and conversational, but they don't hover. They don't oversell. The food service itself, pretty flawless. It's a la carte and there are courses, so getting that timing right in a high-end restaurant is critical. These guys have it nailed. You get your appetizers, your second course, your main course, and it just kinda rolls for about two hours.
The food quality is so on the money. I got an off-menu steak, they comp'd me some white cheddar potatos au gratin for a side, we started with some incredible oysters, a big crab cake and a couple of salads. The steak was badass. Fish looked really good. Steak was big, the temp was right where it shoulda been and this was a really big cut of meat. They did it as right as it could be done.
So, like I said, this place is good. There's just super nice attention to detail, and the price is right where you'd expect it to be for four, five star, night out, fancy date joints. Your date will approve. What happens after that is up to you.

My husband and I come here for just about EVERY special occasion - birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Luigi is the Bomb and other waiters do not disappoint. Food always delish. Atmosphere awesome (tables are close together which reminds me of NYC, where I lived before ATX!). Never a snobby "too cool for school" vibe here - unlike so many new places ("can I tell you about our soup and the 87 local farms from whose harvests it is made?" Snore.)

We had a fantastic time at my birthday dinner for 4 couples. We shared raw oysters, entree choices were varied and the comments were very positive from everyone! My husband had steak which was perfect and I had swordfish which is a favorite and didn’t disappoint. The service was wonderful- the table set with rose petals and a signed card from the staff, including a complementary flambé dessert. I highly recommend!

Eddie V’s is one of the steakhouse we bring out of town business associates too. We brought our out of town friends to Eddie V’s because we were going to Antone’s to listen to a band after dinner and it’s literally next door. It’s like a typical steakhouse - lots of dark wood, old men, steak, scotch, cognac, bourbon... You can’t go wrong with the food. Lots of things to do within walking distance too!

We went here for a birthday dinner for my wife. We really were impressed with the ambience of the place. The service was very friendly and helpful. When we checked in they asked if it was for a special occasion and so I told them. When we went to our table they had a card at the table wishing her a happy birthday and it was signed by the staff! They also had covered the table with some rose petals! The food was well prepared and presented, and we were very full after eating it! Our meal was followed with a complimentary dessert for her birthday, and it was awesome! We hope to make a future return visit!

....with the chill atmosphere, the soft lights and the jazz music playing quitely in the background. Order a drink at the bar while you wait for your table. Or simply have drinks and appetizers. The appetizers are unforgetable. It is truly a delightfull experience. The bartenders are attentive without being cloying. Everyone in this establishment does their job extremely well (most especially the chefs)! You feel pampered--and who does not love that? Thank you, Eddie V's, for all the wonderful times I have spent enjoying your amazing cuisine and pleasurable atmosphere.

Sweet. Goodness. Book a reservation right now. Wow. This is one of the best meals I have had in my life. The drinks were delicious, the lobster bisque was creamy and tasteful, the George Banks scallops were life changing and the steak melted in your mouth. The sides of lobster mashed potato’s, truffle Mac and cheese and crab fried rice were also fantastic all to be finished off my delectable bananas foster (I don’t even like bananas!). Crystal was simply delightful, knowledgeable and kind. She along with the entire team made the entire experience so genuine and welcoming. Whenever I’m back in Austin, this will be my first stop for a meal!!! All the thumbs up for both food and employees (which are the heart of any business)!

During the snowstorm, with most restaurants shutdown, Eddie V's came through. They only offered takeout and a fixed menu, but it was great! Perfectly cooked ribeye with fries and lobster bisque. For takeout, they packaged everything separately, including the lobster and bisque, so the food would still be delicious when opened up at home. Service was great and the food was ready exactly as scheduled - no small feat considering this was one of the few restaurants open during the storm. Well done and thanks for feeding a desperate city!

Every time I eat here I’m blown away. The food here is absolutely top notch
We were here with a party of eight and had oysters, beef tartare, hamachi, giant seafood tower, lobster fried rice, filet mignon, stuffed shrimp, and Chilean Sea Bass. They have some killer cocktails and the service is always first class

My college age granddaughter and I went to Eddie V's on a recent Monday night. We had reservations and arrived on time. We were told a table was being prepared. But, I got a little impatient after a couple of parties without reservations were seated while we waited. After about 10 minutes we were led to our table and I immediately realized that I had requested a somewhat quieter area of the restaurant so we could talk without yelling at each other and the hostess had worked hard to get us a table that was just right. Everything else just made our experience better. Our server Charlie was helpful, attentive, and did a great job of pacing our meal to let us enjoy a relaxed dinner, while avoiding excessive delays because of two large parties clogging the kitchen. Our bone-in rib eyes were delicious and cooked perfectly and the truffle macaroni and cheese and the crispy brussel sprout sides that we selected were also delicious.

Our hotel had called and made our reservation for us. We were celebrating our anniversary and we were given a table out of traffic and were surprised with rose petals on table. Our server Aaron was excellent. He did not rush us and gave us great insight into the menu. We went with two of the specials , filet mignon with creole shrimp and carpetbagger... fillet with fried oysters and bernaise. Both were cooked perfectly and were excellent. We also started the night with a seafood tower. Oysters , shrimp, and crab. Beautiful presentation and delicious!
The night was finished with the restaurant sending us a plate of wonderful desserts with Happy Anniversary written on the plate.
