True Cajun (South Louisiana from Lafayette-Houma) and New Orleans cuisine! Herbal with slight "bite" but not too much pepper!
Casual, family friendly, very friendly and professional staff.
Large portions easy to share an entre! All entrees are delicious! Try the bread pudding--YUM!!!
DELICIOUS !!!!

We went as a foursome for breakfast with a reserved table. We arrived about 10 AM and there were available tables but by 10:30, the place was almost filled and by 11:00, there were people waiting outside. Good thing it was a nice morning!
We were seated immediately and our server was on the spot as well. Drinks ordered and we perused the menu. I chose the Bayou Breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and home fries. It was quite good, the eggs fluffy and the bacon cooked right. The sausage patties could have been browned on both sides a little more and the home fries were somewhat dry. The Creole Eggs benedict ordered by others in our party were reportedly excellent. The mimosas, bloody mary and coffee were standard size and tasted fine.
All four of us enjoyed the breakfast very much and vowed to return soon. Just remember to reserve a table if you want to come late in the morning.

Good selection of New Orleans style food. A bit of a wait for seating but worth it. Child friendly seating. We make a special point to eat here on every visit to Austin. For four adults and two kids the total bill was $180.94 so not cheap. Gumbo is normally very good but was way too salty this time, almost inedible. Atchafalaya Catfish was good. Shrimp Platter was even better. Best fried okra around.

We ordered online and I made specific notes about people in our group who have dairy allergies. I got a call from one of your employees (Marie?) who recommended adjustments to our order to meet that non diary need. I was touched by her concern and diligence, but then I have come to expect that from your workers...always pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. The quality of the food was maybe just a tad shy of its normal excellence, but probably because it had cooled a bit on the drive home. We remain devoted fans of Cypress Grill!

I went to Cypress Grill and ordered take out from the parking lot. I got a newer item on the Menu of Meat Loaf and it was an excellent meal. From the time of ordering until I received in my car was around 10 minutes and the order was taken and delivered within a very quick period of time and by a very considerate wait staff. I also got a shrimp cocktail and a Hurricane which made very special meal for me!

I had not planned to have breakfast on this visit, but upon realizing we were there during brunch hours, I decided breakfast sounded pretty good. I ordered a meal that included two eggs cooked to order with a choice of three sides. I chose bacon, sausage, and home fries. All were good, but I wish I’d have added one additional side to have either a biscuit or toast. Food was delicious. It’s a great place for Sunday brunch!

I tried the trout dinner this time and it was cooked perfectly. AND THE SAUCE! Yummmmmmm!
This restaurant is well run from management to kitchen staff, to wait staff, to bartenders, to greeters.

Well, to be accurate, Door Dash delivers the 'always awesome,' food from Cypress Grill. I always opt to have them hand the great smelling and tasty food through my car window, when I show up for curbside delivery. Sadly, I haven't entered Cypress Grill in more than a year.
My recent food order was provided sooner than I expected (that's super!) and when I got home I told my wife that I had the best smelling car in Austin. Of course, the quality of our food exceeded the smell!
We're very grateful that Cypress Grill has managed to stay with us through the pandemic challenge.

We arrived at 4:30 p.m. Cypress had advertised boiled crawfish would be available starting at that time. I ordered my 3 lb. platter upon my arrival. They were great, a little on the small size but hot and tasty. BUT they ran out about 15 minutes later! Apparently, the on-line orders at up (literally) all they had on hand. So disappointed and annoyed. If you keep running out, and you have limited options to acquire more, limit the bugs to in-house dining.
Anyway, the owner who happened to be there that night, was able to locate more. He went and bought them, hauled them back to cook, and let us have 1st preference. What a way to keep a couple of customers. He's such a fun guy, but more importantly, he knows how to run a business. Thanks, unnamed manager.

Cypress Grill and Bar, I lived in New Orleans for years so I appreciate your authentic Creole and Cajun food. I am a fan of your Duck Gumbo, Crawfish Etoufee, Pot Roast/Gravy, Mustard Greens, Eggs Napoleon and Creole Eggs Benedict.
Had your Chicken Tenders with Cream Gravy for the first time today. Good job and exceeded my expectations.
The service is always welcoming, warm and attentive. Kitchen is consistently good and timely. I'm a tough grader on restaurants so it is hard to get an excellent rating from me. I've been spoiled over the years.
Thankful to be able to enjoy Cypress Grill and Bar.
I would very much like to see Crawfish Yvonne and Shrimp Creole added to the menu or as a frequent special. Would much prefer Black Drum or Pompano instead of Tilapia. Hope Duck Gumbo is back for months this winter. Would also love a veal chop special once a month. Nobody in town does a veal chop really well anymore. Would come back 3 or 4 times as often if all these changes were made.

First time we have picked up an order at Cypress Grill and still a delicious meal. Blackened Catfish Atchafalaya was very good even though we had to wait for the 25 minute drive home to dig in. Service was quick and food ready when we got there.

On January 6, 2020, I took two guests to dine at our favorite restaurant - Cyress Grill!
My companions had the Trout Meuniere (they RAVED about it!). I had the Featured Monthly Menu Special for January, Chicken Cordon Blue. I had enough to take home for a second meal!
Our waiter (Josh B.) was very helpful and competent!

Dining by myself enabled me to choose two appetizers and then dessert rather than a more traditional entree. I savored every bite of my seafood gumbo, fried crawfish tails, and bourbon chocolate pecan pie. Delicious and didn't feel like I'd over-indulged!!

Despite COVID Pandemic, we felt safe dining in at Cypress Grill, our favorite neighborhood restaurant! I would highly recommend their establishment, the food is always good and wholesome. I know they use local vendors when possible and that reflects in the quality of their dishes.
Sabrina was excellent in her service, suggestions and friendly attitude! It was Monday evening so we enjoyed two bottles of wine at half price! A great value!! Everyone ordered a different entree. I had the Crawfish stuffed Poblano pepper. It was a great fusion of Cajun and Mexican cuisine!

My mother and I were soooo disappointed to find out your shrimp and grits plate is no longer the delightful dish we've always enjoyed. Not only was in unappealing to the eye (nasty), it reeked of bell pepper, and there was no way I was eating that. Fortunately, our server whisked it away and returned with shrimp Rockefeller which was lovely.
Service was as great as usual. But I was really bummed about my (and my mother's) favorite dish.
