We discovered this lovely restaurant on our Philosopher’s Walk. What a charming gem! Beautiful and minimalist decor and delicious Japanese lunch. The wait staff was friendly and very accommodating to all, but especially to one of us with food allergies. Wonderful environment to eat and...enjoy lunch with friends.More

Great little place next to the Tetsugaku-no-Michi! Varied menu with a lot of fun local beers. Food is good and the location is quiet and beautiful, with great prices to boot compared to many similar establihments around Kyoto. Very clean and lovely service

We spotted this restaurant at the end of the Philosopher's path, with it's terrace overlooking the canal, and a lovely bright room behind. We were warmly welcomed and the menu offered a pleasant choice of food at reasonable prices. The food was well presented and...very tasty. Well worth a visit.More

Saw this as we were walking on the path. The people here are nice. We got the "mix pizza" . and it was just okay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and great to find something veggie. Cold noodles and a cold beer on a hot day with a stunning setting was a moment in paradise!

My wife and I stopped in here for a brief respite from the summer heat during our walk down the Philosopher's Path. This cafe is the one we decided on, and we couldn't be happier! It was very relaxing, allows for great people watching, provides...comfortable chairs and ambiance, offers a varied selection of breakfast food items (we both got a breakfast toast with marinara sauce and assorted veggies; it was delicious!), and the drinks were refreshing, too. Also, WiFi is available, which is a big plus. If you need to take a break during your journey on the Path, this is a great spot, especially because it is right next to Honen-in Temple, a place you'll definitely want to check out!More

We were hot and thirsty after climbing to dimonji hill. We walked along the philosophers path, so we entered that cafe. We set near the canal under the tree superb location. The waiter brought two cups of cold water with a hint of ananas which...we found out you can refill. We ordered iced coffee and blue-cheesecake. The coffee was good and the cake was great! The atmosphere is very nice and everything was nicely styled!More

We were in the area to do pottery at Mansagama's and came early. Stumbled upon this wonderful eatery! Very chill environment with great drink and food selections. We were lucky and got a free glass of sake - so pure and tasty! I ordered the...pizza and a beer, my husband ordered a maple syrup cheese toast (I was dubious but he loved it) and has been attempting to re-create at home. English-speaking/English-menu friendly. Credit cards accepted. Beautiful neighborhood and just plain a great place to stumble upon. It was our last day but had we found it earlier, I could see us easily eating/hanging out their daily.More

Just came across this place walking the philosophers walk. Very relaxing terrace. Looks brand new. Nice for a coffee and cake. Not the cheapest place , however let say you also pay for the location.
