We picked this place over a local friend recommendation as well as this restaurant is ranked black pear on dazhongdianping. Menu looked very good and we wanted to order everything :) be aware that mushroom dishes follow the season and are not always available. We...had the chicken soup (their speciality) - amazing, local vegetable - a bit too salty to me but still very good, coconut rice - sweet and more like a dessert but still excellent, local mushroom with chili - spicy but very good and pork slices with an herb and spicy sauce - delicious. This restaurant is not really expensive (about 150-200 rmb) Service is rough but friendly. Not really used to see foreigner.More

A variety of authentic Yunnan food: ham, chicken, mushroom, vegetables, fish, fruits... all taste good. Nice environment. Service is good too.

Excellent way of starting Yunnan specialities. Price low , quality very high what to expect more ? A decent service ? Dont ask too much and remember where you are ....😜

My wife decided to treat me to lunch here and when the food arrived, we wanted pepper, surprise...no pepper. but they gave us a pack that tasted lik pepper. Overall the food was ok. nothing special. What ticked us off was when we wanted to...settle, there was a 5RMB charge for that pack of pepper! My wife was outraged and refused to pay that amount. We asked the manager why the outlet does not have pepper, her reply was there was. You see where we are going with this. Another thing is the chopsticks were very short, and in order to have a decent lenght one must 'buy' another section to add to the chopsticks. We found this very stupid! So, in order to have a proper meal with normal chopsticks, one has to pay for them. This smells like a tourist trap to me. What a rip off!!! Never again!More

The restaurant is a bit out of downtown in the location near by the zoo. It looks like similar many other restaurants in Yunnan but the dishes are good for a kings table. The famous chicken pot is same as from grandmothers cooking. It's done...by a special style. But that's not the only tasty dish. Try the special potato in the pack or the roasted pigs belly with spicy sauce. We enjoy our stay there... try it!More

A restaurant owned by the Jin Jiang hotel group and a reasonable introduction to dining in a Chinese restaurant -- though best to do it with a Chinese speaker and with a reasonable proficiency with chopsticks. Dishes well illustrated on the menu, but that's not...much use if you don't know what they are! The food was all tasty -- but that's what you would expect in this great city which is obsessed with food. The donkey meat was absolutely delicious and highly recommended.More
