My hubby and I visited for lunch. The atmosphere in this restaurant is charming and relaxed. We ordered the Fried whole snapper, Filet mignon and shrimp cocktail. The seafood was fresh and very tasty. You also get a mini ceviche everytime you order a beer!...The service was very attentive and friendly. Great value here! I will certainly return for some delicious seafood.More

This restaurant had the most awesome seafood. 4 of us went and ordered something different. Each meal was incredible. The seafood was very fresh and tasty. The service was great, too. Loved the ceviche!

My husband and I dined at Bona chica last week and had such a delicious meal! We split the mixed ceviche and then paella. Both dishes were so very good! In addition, our waiter - Luis I believe was his name - was so helpful....I used my limited Spanish and he used his limited English and we figured it out! Luis started our dining experience by bringing us a sample of the Covina ceviche. Everything about the restaurant is wonderful! Would definitely recommend!More

One of the locals at our hotel suggested this restaurant. It was fabulous! Prices were very reasonable and our waiter Luis was great. The ensalada con camarones was the best, many fresh vegetables warm and steamed to perfection with many many tender shrimp! The maricada...de las casa fed 2 of us and it was so delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant 🙂More

I ate here 2 nights in a row, not because it was so good but it's convenience to my hotel. As in Costa Rica it seems in Panama seasoning food doesn't happen. Bland food needs help.

This restaurant was quite busy on a weekday evening and offers air conditioning in one large room while the climate of the rest of the restaurant is more tropical. The service was fantastic and our food came quickly; the problem was the quality and flavor....A lot of people were eating the same thing we ordered, a mixed seafood platter, and seemed quite happy. Maybe our language skills were to blame, but the proffered dish didn’t seem to be what was described by the waiter. I might give this another try on a future visit and order differently.More

The owner was very friendly, the monkeys were fun to watch, the room was clean and the food was good. They even packed our sandwich lunches in one of their coolers for our beach excursion to another island.

I have been to this reastaurant many times and is very good for informal eating of fish and seafood. Loved the fact that every time you ask for a beer you get a free small ceviche. Very good!

It has probably been more than a year since I have had a lobster dinner in Panama. This restaurant has had consistent good seafood over the past couple of years of my visiting. I selected the lobster dinner, steamed vegetables and a salad, The lobster...and vegetables were served hot, (sometimes a luxury in Panama) and the beer was cold.More

Nice little seafood place. Typical Panamanian. You get a little cup of ceviche with your beer. Indoor with AC or without and outdoor looking at the street. They will turn down the AC and music if you ask :>)

Three blocks from the downtown Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra Park. Nice relaxed atmosphere, smooth jazz background music, and we sat on the patio (which had fans for circulation). My wife ordered fried shrimp and I ordered Corvina. It made for an enjoyable dinner.

For David, this is considered an upscale neighborhood restaurant. We saw well-dressed couples and families having a relaxed dinner. We sat outside because the inside was very hot and stuffy. Even at night, David is sultry (think New Orleans or Houston). But the patio was...fine. We ordered two corvina (sea bass) dishes- one in white wine sauce with capers and mushrooms, the other in a red seafood sauce with shrimp and octopus on top. Both came with sides of salad and potatoes. The fish was served piping hot and was out of this world good- perfectly cooked and super fresh taste. The total bill for 4 beers and two large plates was $28.89- cheap by U.S. standards, pricey for Panama. Service was good by Panamanian standards, just a little slow by big-city U.S. standards. So don't go if you're in a huge rush. We walked to and from the restaurant from Hotel Cuidad de David, about 8 blocks away. Although we walked at night, we felt safe in David.More
