Excellent! Later arrival than planned at the Boquete Garden Inn, so we headed to George’s for dinner, as it was less than 5-minutes away, shortly before closing time. George was welcoming, and ensured we felt at ease and not rushed. The food was fantastic. One...of our best dinners in Panamá! Highly recommend!More

I arrived at my hotel nearby and was starving but didn't feel like walking to town, so I decided to pop in here. I'm so glad I did! At first I was a little taken aback by the eclectic building and unique vibe, but it...grew on me quickly. I had roast chicken with vegetables and fried yucca from their gardens, and it was the best meal I had in Panama - I even went back my last night and had the roast pork. George is the sweetest man, he really cares about his food and his customers and there's a personal touch in everything. It's also a family affair: his teenage daughter serenaded us on the piano and sweet old pup Bambi kept watch outside the dining room. If you want a delicious meal and a special experience, head to George's when you're in Boquete.More

I like a honky tonk bar with the best of them, but I am afraid to say that the food was a little better than McDonalds and their daughter, who is incredibly sweet, has been charged with the entertainment, but she can't sing.....at all, not...a little bit.More

My husband and I paid a visit to George's Fire Side Inn on a recent Saturday. We were treated to an excellent thin crust pepperoni and mushroom pizza baked in George's brick oven. Super taste and the perfect crunchiness! We also enjoyed the Thai fish...curry, prepared this particular evening with tuna. Combined with a savory and spicy curry, fresh sauteed vegetables, and a tasty baked potato, it made for an exceptional main course! Great overall value and an impressive wine list to boot! George’s place is 100% non-pretentious and George will bend over backwards to give you a wonderful dining experience.More

Very dingy inside, small and cluttered. We decided to eat outside. Okay....but not the greatest. Lots of junk lying around. They say they were remodeling. We decided to give it a chance with our meals because we heard it was so good. Wrong! First, the...service was terrible, my friend ordered vodka on the rocks and got watered down vodka. They admitted they ran out of vodka. I ordered calamari and it was like eating shoe leather. My friend got a wrap that tasted disgusting. The only one that got a decent meal was my husband who ordered pizza. Needless to say, we won't be back!More

My wife and I recently relocated to Boquete Panama. We had been driving by the Fire Side Inn - Georges' Grill on our way home for a while before we just stopped in one afternoon. George met us at the door and we were instantly...charmed by his warm and generous personality. He took us on a spontaineous tour of his restaurant and gardens where he grows much of what he cooks for his guests. George is an accomplished 3 star chef and his food is fantastic. We have stopped in regularly over the past couple of months and have enjoyed both the lunch and dinner menus. His family operate the restaurant and hotel and are so gracious and hospitable. We love his food and the eclectic atmosphere . His wood fired pizza is the best in town and a bargain as well. We now stop by a couple times a week as Georges' Grill has become a favorite for us.More

Loved George! The drinks and food not so much. You’ll get the real mountain bar vibe from this place. Heated by the brick stove, you can have a great mountain drinking adventure here. We sat in this bar for hours having drinks And chatting up...a storm with George. A stray dog wandered in and out of the area, which I promise didn’t bother me at all after the initial shock, however, the food was not good. Edible yes, but not good. I would go again to hang out with George, have drinks, and socialize with friends around the fire, but I won’t be eating anything there in the future. I recommend you eat first or after and spend all your money at his bar. He’s good people, and his family are very sweet and helpful. We’ll be back.More

Well, we found George's Fire Side Inn by the recommendation of our host at The Inn at Palo Alto. We were told that it was rustic and George was eccentric and the food was good. George was just the breath of fresh air we needed...several days into an excellent, although very scheduled itinerary. Granted, we were the only folks who came in for dinner that night, so by the sound of some of the reviews, perhaps we lucked out....and LUCKED OUT we did! I am sad I left the camera behind for this dinner...George has created a gustatory oasis with food coming from his garden, poultry and local seafood connections. I had a fabulous dish of giant prawns with garden veg saute, velvety mashed potatoes and a from-the-garden-anise liqour flambe. My daughter had the fish and chips, and my husband had the filet mignon. We loved that his children were about, giggling, playing with the hutched rabbits and being admonished to help out in the kitchen. He regaled us with a heart-felt guitar solo as we waited out the rain storm to walk "home" for the night. What a treasure, one of THE BEST meal experiences of our trip!More

Wanted to go somewhere nearby our accommodation and this was one block up the street. The place is quite rustic appearing, which set our expectations low. We were blown away by the variety on the menu and the quality and intensity of the flavors we...subsequently experienced. I had the octopus. It was minced with a chimchuri sauce and I devoured every bite. It’s owned and operated by an indigenous family with some serious cooking skills. The daughter who spoke a little English served us in her new Christmas dress and was so sweet. Prices were about half of what other restaurants in town charged for the same meals. Thanks for a memorable meal!More
