We have been here 3 times during our 8 night stay in Kota Kinabalu. On the first morning after some 24 hours of travel we were hungry. The breakfast looked lovely but is served cold so be prepared to eat it like that or send it back. Second morning my partner had the omelette which we asked for well done which was piping hot & delicious. I had the yogurt bowl which was equally delicious. Third morning we were later so both wanted the egg sandwich minus the chicken which we had seen on a previous visit only to be told we couldn’t have it without chicken?? Weird response as clearly the sandwich we had witnessed another couple eating the day before looked absolutely delicious & did not have chicken in as we asked them! The breakfast tea & the coffee on the first day were lovely but they ran out of tea & as of this morning hadn’t replaced it. The ginger zinger was available on 2 of the days & that’s very refreshing. Staff friendly but a few things need tweaking for a 5 star rating.

During my 7 day stay in Kota Kinabalu I was a repeat customer for breakfast and dinner. They have a great selection of food and drinks with a lovely atmosphere. The wifi is great and the staff are even better. Not to mention the coffee is absolutely exceptional. They are very passionate about what they do. I would recommend for anyone to come and try it out when in town. Plus they have authentic Chai Lattes which are the best I’ve ever seen!

Nook Cafe was full when our family and our friends entered, but the staff helped us find a good spot for such a large amount of people. After we were seated, they didn't bothered us so that we had time to decide what food and drinks we would like to order. They came when you called them too. The wait for the food and drinks weren't long, and the drinks looked beautiful. The food also tasted great, especially when there is relaxing music playing in the background. I highly recommend this cafe as it is clean with great food and excellent customer service.

25 minutes to get a coffee is not acceptable. Reason: sorry sir, we have other orders. It’s bad when you are running a business and can’t cope especially when it’s not even full. My $11 ringgit flat white was lukewarm as they added cold milk to it. Won’t be back.

Bad service We had placed the order for 30minutes and approached the staff for checking on the order. Then the staff explained that the food will only be started making after payment settled, which is not introduced at arrival. They had actually received and printed out our orders, but not even to remind customers to settle the payment for 30minutes. Leaving us to wait for that long time.

Very nice hip and trendy coffee place. They hve a kitchen so you can also order some food though the menu is limited. Cakes and scones are nice and not sweet. Coffees and matchas can also be made with soy milk. Mine was lovely. The place is small inside. Especially now with sop restrictions in place. There’s a terrace in the back outside. Perfect place to have a coffee, some scones and read a book for a while. The crowd is mostly local youngsters with money to spend (nothing is cheap here…but it’s worth the money). Nice place to visit and recommended

We came here for breakfast as we’d seen the menu online and it ticked our dietary requirements and the food looked really nice. When we arrived, the staff were apologetic and gave us a long list of things that were unavailable, and a number of these were options we would have ordered. We placed our order and after 5 minutes we were told that one of the breakfast items we had ordered was now unavailable and so we had to order something else that we wouldn’t ordinarily have ordered. 5 minutes later, we were told that we owed 1 RM for the new item! The delivery of the food to the table was staggered and we watched as the other ate. The staff are very sweet and it’s a nice restaurant but it’s not great when half the menu is not available. The smoothie bowls were average and whilst tasty, compared with other smoothie bowls we have had, the fruit portions were tiny with the thinnest and most paltry slices of jack fruit and banana which was disappointing. We ordered a hot cappuccino and it was luke warm. The food for what we got was average and overpriced. A disappointing experience and sadly we won’t recommend this place nor would we come back.

Nook Cafe holds the top spot for cafes in KK for good reason. Very trendy, relaxed layout, friendly staff and a good choice of breakfast options. We sat outside in view go the world's biggest Banyon tree, peaceful and cool. I has the Shakshuka, my had the French toast, both were big portions and were delicious. Flat white coffees were very, very good- strong but not bitter. So highly recommended, we'll definitely be back for breakfast, lunch or early dinner- hopefully all three but not on the same day (:

The food was good, service was great and perfect music choice if you like kpop 👌🏼. The grilled cheese was delicious. The only 'bad' thing is that the portions might be a tad small if you're crazy hungry. Would definitively recommend!

Hip eatery in the busy city. Friendly and helpful staff. We had breakfast here; smoothie bowl and sandwich with scrambled egg (2 pieces otherwise what little) The smoothie bowl was a bit too cold, otherwise everything tasted good.

In the last month or so we've been having Fruity Churros for breakfast at Nook, they are absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately the last time we were there it seems the Churros are now off the menu. What shall I do now, I'm bereft !? Hope they have a rethink and put them back on. Their other breakfasts are also yummy, but not quite as good as the churros

Decided to visit this cafe after seeing the reviews from trip advisor. The cafe has great food and ambience. Love the breakfast set! Everything is so tasty. The earl grey chocolate drink is very unique and yummy too. Will definitely recommend and come back again.

Ordered coffee with milk on the side and scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. My food came but they didn’t bring cutlery and I had to go inside to get some. I’d finished my food before my coffee arrived. I was given soya milk when I asked for cows milk. This curdled my coffee. But I had waited so long I had to go anyway! I wouldn’t mind but they charge service! Shame as it’s a nice place and eggs were very good.

The cafe was closed the first day that we tried to visit. On our 2nd visit the cafe was open but had limited food choices for vegetarians. Bread looked great though and the scrambled eggs were good. Staff not particularly helpful.

Had a few take away cappuccinos from here. Really good coffee. Has a nice atmosphere and it was one of the few cafes open by 8. They also sell sourdough bread. They do charge extra for a TA cup.
