El Centro is located in the middle of Kota Kinabalu's central business district near hotels and shopping centers.El Centro serves a variety of healthy and delicious food options from tacos to wraps, salads, burgers and local Malaysian favourites.The open concept restaurant has a friendly, laid-back atmosphere that hosts a number of specialty nights like--pub quiz, jazz night, salsa lessons, them parties and art openings/exhibits. Open form 5pm - 12am for food and drinks. From the bar you can order beer or one of Katie's Killer Cocktails.

Solid Mexican Food in Kota Kinabalu

We had an excellent late night dinner with a vegetarian burrito, chicken quesadilla and cheesy beef nachos. Everything was made fresh, had good portion sizes and came out piping hot. The restaurant plays classic pop hits that will make you and the staff dance. Lots of good drink options and very tasty desserts as well.

Food so tasty and fresh and a great vibe

We stumbled across this place and then went back for more! Amazing food full of flavour - Mexican fusion. My kids 13 & 15 loved it! There’s definitely something on the menu for everyone. The salads were ‘so’ fresh and they also have vegetarian options. Staff were also super friendly!! Totally recommend.

We just found this nice place

We just found this nice place by coincidence. The food was very delicious and we enjoyed a glass of light red wine, deserved after having climbed Gunung Kinabalu the last two days. The prices were low, the quality of the food and service high. Our bedste recommendations😊

Located at busy middle business area.Especially for those who choose the western style cuisine,here's the right restaurant. Convenient for lunch takers as plenty of light foods availabled, for example salads, burger, sandwiches and etc

Great food and service

We came here for dinner as a big group of 10 and we had a really enjoyable time. It was a Sunday night and the place was packed and the only complaint was that it was hard to hear our conversations as there were noisy children in the restaurant on the opposite table. The menu is very varied with lots of options for every palate. The service was good and all the food for our group seemed to arrive more or less at the same time. I had the Thai chicken salad and there was way too much chicken and I would have been happy with half the amount. It was delicious with a great spicy flavour. Others ordered tacos, burritos, burgers and pizzas and all the food looked really good. We thought the food and also drink options were very reasonably priced. A great spot for dinner and we would definitely recommend.

Crowded but worth it

We went out last night in KK and had a good time. It was Saturday night and the place was packed, though we only waited 10 min or so for a table. Service was a little slow, but the wait staff were attentive to our needs for drinks etc. I think it must be a small kitchen and the crowd on Saturday night makes keeping up with the orders challenging, but the food is worth the wait. Mixture of Mexican, Asian dishes. I had the chicken satay (best peanut sauce ever) and the chicken and black bean burrito was incredible. Great drink menu with pitchers of frozen drinks available making for the most likely night life we saw in KK. Definitely worth a try.

Lovely tacos

Visited twice, first time the taco's were phenominal and were scoffed in a few minutes. Dessert very good too, special offer on a monday of free can of beer with every mexican meal ordered. Loved it. Second visit was good, though not as good as the first time. Probably beacuase we had the exact same meal as last time so the surprise wasn't there. Highly recommended

Great atmosphere and food

We have been there for pub quiz night and it was a blast. Maybe a bit lengthy but with a prize (drinks) to be won in every round. The drinks are fantastic, there are no plastic straws. Instead they serve drinks in real glasses and with metal straws. The food was delicious and I truely enjoyed my time.

Delicious Mexican Food

Enjoyed our evening here. Turned up without a reservation and it was busy due to a very large table. Advised we would have a wait for a table which was fine. Sat at bar and had a beer. Service was a bit haphazard and food came out separately. Our son had finished his main before we got ours but no big deal. Ended up eating at the bar which was fine. Food was very delicious. Our sons burger was very tasty indeed. Vegetable burrito was amazing and steak fajitas plentiful and tasty. Good value for money and we would definitely return but would plan to book next time to guarantee a table.

Best breakfast spot!

A great selection of breakfast meals and very reasonable. Shakshuka is by far the best I've had and the big breakfast is everything you could want in a meal! Coffee is great and the fresh juices have become a daily favourite. Great spot for breakfast or brunch with friends!

After many days with great local taste, we have opted for Mexican dinner 🥘. Ordered quesadillas and tortillas, quick dinner, served in short time. Restaurant decently occupied mostly with tourists. Enjoyed

Wonderful restaurant, wonderful staff.... in this city

Fantastic restaurant in that city with good prices for alcool ( wine) It’s really a better option than the restaurants expensive and not so good at the Waterfront. Bravo to the staff very kind, bravo for the food.... Thank you.... Stop to go eat at waterfront..... Stan

Friendly, fresh & tasty

I ate lunch twice here, both times were great; friendly English speaking service, fresh tasting food and great selection of drinks. First time was chicken & mango salad, that was too large and I couldn’t finish it off unfortunately. Second was a bean wrap for something smaller. Great location, airy and highly recommend it.

Good place western tourists

Good place to cool down and find something to eat a little more familiar. Salads are awesome and I loved the three bean chilli. Cocktails are really well made and definitely moorish.. Service is friendly and helpful and English is spoken. Very economical, a great value for money cafe/restaurant. TIP: Can get crowed so if you going at meal times arrive early.

Good mexican in KK

Nice Mexican themed restaurant also serving pizza. We had the flatbread and hummus which was very tasty. I had vegetarian tacos - 4 in the serving as a main and my partner had quesdilla. Good serving size and good service. Quite a few options for vegetarian/vegan as well. It a pretty popular place in the evenings, especially with tourists. It is in the mid price range menu for KK. Plenty of seating and close to the city centre as well. Drinks menu as well. Able to cater for families/groups.
