About

According to Ms Loc who is known as The Banh Mi Queen story, in the past, She sold Vietnamese Sweet Soups and then moved to sell bread for more than 60 years. In the early days of the opening, Ms Loc’s shop had no name, then a Wester after coming here to enjoy the bread, He Named the shop brand after Ms Loc’s Husband, Mr Khanh. Before she opened her bakery, she went to many famous bakeries in Hoi An to enjoy and then researched and created her own unique recipe with a signature taste. Every day, She and her family have to get up early in the morning to prepare the ingredients for the whole day business. In addition, bread is also bought at a reputable bakery in the city. it also contributes to the signature flavour of Banh Mi Madam Khanh.

Best Bahn Mi in Hoi An

If you’re looking for the best Bahn Mi in Hoi An, come to Madam Khanh - Bahn Mi Queen! Prices range from 20,000-30,000. I ate here multiple times and tried nearly all of the different kinds. The BBQ was my favorite. I also tried the egg chocolate, which was interesting but tasty as a dessert. It was served in a larger bowl of hot water with the egg hot chocolate cup floating in the bowl. The consistency was thick like pudding and was served with a spoon.

Better than the rest

Tried a few banh mi places around town but this place is definitely the best. They have a menu to choose from different sandwiches but best to stick to their ‘classic’. The bread itself was also good. They normally heat the bread so when you have it it’s warm and crunchy! Simply the best!

We walked 2km every morning from our Hotel to eat breakfast here, even though a full Buffet Breakfast was included with our accommodation. We ate our way through the menu and everything was delicious. The banh mi isn't too big so it is easy to eat 2 and to try different fillings each time. Recommend pairing the banh mi with an iced coffee for the perfect start to the day.

Don’t really get the hype...

After loving the Banh Mi in Hanoi, we couldn’t wait to try this famous Banh Mi restaurant. Sadly we had a negative experience here. The Banh Mi sandwiches were already pre-made and not freshly made compared to other restaurants we have been at. The ingredients mentioned on the menu didn’t fully match the actual ingredients on the sandwich, which was quite weird. The staff was pretty rude and pushy, trying to make us leave the restaurant as soon as we stopped eating (it wasn’t too packed, and we also didn’t see any customers waiting for tables). We also tasted waaaay better Banh Mi sandwiches in Hanoi and even in other places in Hoi An.

Possibly best Banh Mi ever!!!

Was highly recommended by hotel and it didn't disappoint! We ordered a 'Mix' and a 'Ham & Pork' and they were equally good. Heavenly delish especially when coupled with their home-made spicy sauce! I love spice so i put a huge chunk of the sauce with every bite but caution if you can't handle chilli well as it is quite spicy. Don't worry if you can't handle spicy as the chilli is separated. Place is simple decor but clean and service is friendly and speedy. Huge juice menu to go with Banh Mi. They have 5 different Banh mi to choose from including vegetarian option. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Hoi An - So good i had to have one everyday in Hoi An!!

Best Banh Mi in Vietnam!

This was seriously the most tasty Bahn Mi I had in all of Vietnam! Especially if you’re a sucker for spicy food like me, there is a chili on the table which takes the experience to a whole other level. While eating I knew that I would come back the day after an enjoy it again! Took the barbecue pork both times. Highly recommended.

Bahn mi was ok

We tried this place after seeing all the great reviews, but found it just ok. It wasn't bad, just didn't taste amazing - like we expected. Also the bread was already filled in, and the spice mix was added once we ordered. The place was not busy, so I'm not sure what was the need to pre- fill the breads. It gave an impression that it wasn't fresh.

The Banh Mi as it should be

Before i arrived at the Banh Mi Queen i have tried banh mi in Hanoi and Hue but only in this place I can say that i truly understood what it takes for a banh mi to be perfect. The secret is in the bread and the pate that is spread on the bread. Madamme Khanh does all this in house abd the result is fantastic. You can try whatever type of meat you want it will be ultra delicious. The bread is real frbech baguette that is soft and breaks easy when you bite. If you want to say back home that you tried Banh Mi in Vietnam, try the Madamme’s banh mi!

The most delicious banh mi’s

The most delicious banh mi’s ever - we went back three times after getting taken here as part of a food tour. Service was quick. Catered for vegetarian, non pork eaters and willing to try it all. Great family story behind the food. Would definitely recommend and look forward to going back.

Best Bahn Mi

This was probably the best meal I had during my trip to Da Nang/Hoi An! The baguettes are fantastic and baked fresh - crunchy on the outside, warm and tender in the inside. We got 4 different flavours to share. To be honest I couldn't even tell which was which because they were all densely packed with toppings and meat, but they were all delicious. They also have an extensive selection of yummy juices and coffees. All very affordable. They have seating if you'd like to dine-in, but it's a bit cramped. I'd recommend getting take out and enjoying the bahn mis by the river. 5 stars!

Did not disapoint

We had the 1) mixed and 3) the vegetarain. Mine was delicious, nice crusty bread, cheese spread, boiled egg and salad with medium heat. Yummy, I could just eat one now. Two for 50.000 ( £1.50) - what's not to like. We ate it at the beach.

Hoi An Banh Mi

Madam Khanh appeared as a very popular sandwich shop for the locals and tourist. The menu is focused on banh mi sandwiches which were very good. The bread had the expected crispy, crunchy crust with soft inside. Would go again for a fast, cheap good lunch.

Best Banh Marketplace Ignition we’ve had in Vietnam!

We came here with our guide who told us the story of the 80+-year-old owner and how she started this long ago and he grew up going to this restaurant. It’s on the ground floor of the family‘s home and they still make the Banh mi the way they used to when he remembers as a child. It was absolutely incredible and at the price of just a dollar or two you can’t beat it. No matter what make sure to stop here when in Hoi An!

Best BanhMi so far

If you are looking for great service and great ambience, go someplace else. The only reason why you should come here is for the Banh Mi. We tried 3 of their BanhMis but the one that we all absolutely loved was their Barbeque Pork BanhMi. I plan to go back just to grab another BBQPork Banh Mi.

Extremely popular café with a high turnover of patrons and food. The service is quick and efficient. The mixed Bahn Mi is delicious and reasonably priced. You may find cheaper on some street carts if you are prepared to eat room temperature meat and egg products. The hot egg coffee was delicious. Unfortunately, they did not serve an iced version of the egg coffee.
