About
The restaurant takes its name from the morning glory vegetable, which, after rice, is the most commonly eaten food in Vietnam. One of the more appealing aspects of this edible plant is its resilience. It can grow in any kind of climate and from soil, mud or waterways. Its durable and flexible nature makes it symbolic in the eyes of Ms Vy, who views it as a representation of the Vietnamese character. It can survive, even thrive, in the harshest of conditions; growing into a beautiful green vegetable with a white starflower.

Lovely food, staff and ambience. We had a table at the front and had a couple of cocktails with main courses of duck and sticky rice and also caramelised prawn and pork. We then had frozen yoghurt and banana ice cream deserts. Just excellent and...really quick. We had booked. The cocktails were very good but Monday hour here as it is sufficiently popular without.More

Visited Morning Glory with my wife and teenage son. The ambience is amazing. Food is cooked in an oval ‘kitchen’ immediately in front of the entrance in the ground floor so diners downstairs can witness the full on hustle and bustle of an extremely busy...kitchen along with all the sounds and aromas that go with it. We actually sat upstairs as it was a little cooler (and quieter) but the surroundings are no less pleasant. Very French colonial. My wife and I ordered sautéed prawns in coconut. The menu explains that the dish is served in the whole shell of a young coconut with the flesh still present but we still couldn’t fail to be impressed when our meals arrived. There were a good number of large prawns in the dish and the whole was full of flavour. Our son has the grilled pork belly with The pork was, as is not unusual with pork belly, rather fatty (but this is what carries the flavour) but the meat was delicious and the sauce a perfect compliment. We all shared a dish of ‘roll your own’ pork spring rolls which came with a rice paper wrap, rice flour roll, lettuce, unripened banana and a satay style dip, along with a plate of ‘regular’ rice flour spring rolls and stir fried morning glory. Gorgeous. Absolutely not the cheapest restaurant in Hoi An, I felt the beer was a little overpriced for the area at £2.50? for a bottle of Tiger but the overall experience with the quality of the meal makes it very much worth the price and it’s still massively cheaper than the U.K. Three of us ate as above with just the one desert (slightly mashed frozen banana with coconut cream poured over) with 2 beers, 2 juices and an iced lemon tea for around £40.00.More

It was a rainy day when we popped into the Morning Glory for lunch. The restaurant is better appointed and laid out than almost all other eating places in Hoi An Old Town. The food does not disappoint either. To many foreigners, prices at this...restaurant will appear low, but they are on the high side for locals.More

Wow. Just wow. Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I ordered the tofu, mushroom curry noodle dish two nights in a row. Amazing flavors!

After doing some research we saw that Morning Glory had some really good reviews. After getting more recommendations word by mouth we decided to come here for a date night whilst in Hoi An and it was well worth the money. It’s a bit more...expensive than your average local restaurant in Hoi An and we ordered dishes and drinks from 60.000 VND to 200.000 VND but it was well worth the money. We tried their fried dumplings, the famous white rose dumplings and their duck. For drinks we ordered 2 different lassi’s. I can honestly say it’s the best white roses I’ve had in Hoi An - I’ve tried them “on the street” and in other local restaurants too. Just treat yourself and have at least one meal in this cozy restaurant in the middle of Old Town - it’s worth it!More

One of the best meals I have had so far. The crab wontons were really good, the white rose dumplings were incredible and the shrimp pancakes were absolutely delectable. Really top notch food and the service was perfect. I normally try lots of different places...on holiday but I have to come back here again, it is so good.More

Great little Vietnamese Restaurant in the old town of Hanoi. Starters and desserts for 2 people approximately £20 . Food fantastic, atmosphere great. Food is cooked in an island kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. Appeared very popular with tourists, but managed to get...a table without reservation. Would definitely recommendMore

Excellent food! Got the stuffed squid, pork spring rolls and white rose dumplings for dinner. Prompt service, great atmosphere and lots of options on the menu. However it was a bit more expensive than we had encountered in our trip to Vietnam so far, with...the serving sizes a bit smaller. However my partner and I both agreed it was worth the bit extra for the great food!More

We ordered fried dumplings, the famous white rose dumplings of Hoi An, and bbq pork skewers with rice paper. They were all delicious, especially the white rose dumplings. The restaurant is clean and hygienic too and when we passed it in the evening, it was...packed with diners.More

Food was great quality and the staff very nice. But portion size disappointing. The coconut prawn dish looked nothing like the picture which shows a coconut brimming with sauteed prawns. There were 6 not very large prawns cooked in sauce. Hoi An chicken salad had...a bonus long hair in it. So great restaurant if you have loads of money and are not particularly hungry.More

Really good vietnamese food, we ate here three times during our three-day stay in Hoi An. It was by far my favorite restaurant in vietnam, we liked everything they served up.
