We are on a family visit to Donetsk and went here to celebrttate my birthday. I previously had little experience of Georgian cuisine. There was a wide choice of dishes, both hot and cold.I opted for grilled vegetables on the barbecue and meat from the tandoor. Everything was freshly cooked and most enjoyable. There is also an excellent choice of Georgian wines. The service was efficient and unobtrusive. It cost slightly less than £15:00 per head.

Khinkali has changed name to Borjomi

Yes, they did not change anything but the name. Apparently from what I understood they were part of a discount program all over Ukraine and decided to leave this network and therefore they had to change name. Fortunately they changed the name but not the cooking. A very good place, especially in the center of Donetsk and a place where many of the local business people go to eat and discuss business in an informal way. At some hours of the day it looks like a Gentlemen's club in the British tradition with the drinking level of the Ukrainian tradition. The menu is wide enough to provide changes even if you go there many times during the week. The personnel always try to be nice and smiling. I meet a lot of my business acquaintances there and I have never been disappointed. The prices are usually reasonable and I especially love the grilled food because they really do not overcook it nor put sauce to hide the taste.

Cozy, tasty, relaxed and unhurried. Actually had live music on a weekday, and as opposed to the usual loudness of such things, here it was for ambiance, which was great. A definite repeat. PS The same restaurant was already reviewed here as "Schinkali", with the address written in German - as you can imagine, there are no Shtrasses in Ukraine :)

Huge menu, so lots of choices. Good Georgian wines by the glass. Good hatchapuri, nice lula kebabs. Only downside is that it is a little expensive for what you get.
