Sunday 8th September we visited this restaurant for lunch, it was the pre-arranged lunch stop on our Bali Great Introduction Tour. Although we booked the tour through our TUI Rep at our Hotel, it was only the 2 of us in a taxi with driver...and our Guide. From the outside it was rather apparent that this was way above the average tour lunchtime restaurant. There were steps up to the resturant which had a variety of statues along the steps, really impressive. As we entered the resturant the first image was a imposing colourful carved Garuda bird on display in the entrance hallway. Inside the restaurant was so ornate and decorated with red and gold paints, very reminiscent of the inside of a Chinese Temple, all rather beautiful. Our Guide took us to our table for 2, with views looking out towards Mount Batar. He then took us to the buffet pointing out the aspects of the buffet and explained what certain foods were. There was a large vegetarian section as well as meat, fish and chicken. This was a massive well stocked buffet with so much to choose from. The food was included in the tour price, however, drinks had to be paid for a small bottle of Bintang was 35,000 Rupiah, which was then subject to 21% which made it 42,500 Rupiah, roughly £2.50. The food was really good, the interior of the restaurant was amazing, spent more time looking around the place rather than paying attention to my lunch. For dessert we did try the black rice pudding with coconut milk, let's say we tried it but won't do so again. Like every other stop on the tour, street sellers and stallholders were there waiting for us, here was no exception. They did not hassle here. Nearby the restaurant there was a building, we climbed the 3 floors to the rooftop where we had views over Lake and Mount Batar. It was overcast so we were unable to see as far as Mount Agung in the distance.More

Food buffet was ok with amazing view of the hills if you sit in the windows. Not sure about price as this was included in our tour cost. You can go to the roof of restaurant to take some pictures of the lake and volcano.

Our driver brought us here to have lunch and the servers told us that the only option we had was to have either the Indian vegetarian buffet or the Balinese buffet, both of which were prices high for the quality of food around. We asked...if there was an a-la-carte menu and were told multiple times that there wasn't. Since we were hungry, and this was practically in the middle of nowhere with a view to die for, we kept thinking of making a compromise and having the overpriced buffet there. But, good sense prevailed and we started to move out of the restaurant to go in search of another place. As soon as we turned our backs, out came the a-la-carte menu with the fruit and smoothie bowls, pancakes and burgers. The rates also were decent on that menu. We ordered our food, sat in front of Mt. Batur and had our meal. The food's taste could've been so much better, the staff could've avoided the entire charade and made this a beautiful place to stop at. Oh well, if only...More

THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO RIP YOU OFF. From the minute we walked in i had a bad feeling about this place. We were advised we could have al a carte on the way in but when we sat down we could only have...the buffet. There were 8 of us in total. Two decided not to eat as the food looked terrible. We were advised the price was 150,000 for each person. The table next to us were advised 120,000. They guy writes it on a piece of paper so no one can here him. The 150,000 doesnt include water thats extra. When we got the bill it was 6 + 1 persons. The were charging us extra for the driver despite him getting commission and a free lunch for bringing us there in the first place. Please dont change money here also as i noticed the rates they were offering were margined by at least 10%. i've been in Bali for two weeks and this is the only place on the island that i had a negative experience in. The place should be shut down by the tourism departmentMore

If you are reading this you probably have already been here having been dropped off by your driver or tour guide. If you are reading this before you go to Kintamani then avoid here at all costs. Super overpriced all you can eat buffet. 121,000...Rp for oily stale food sitting in bay-maries for hours on end. Place is really run down and overall crappy (and trust me we don't have high standards or expectations) Left feeling ripped off, gross from eating the food and pretty clear the guides get kick backs for directing unwitting tourists to this place. Major tourist trap and rip off, avoid at all costs.More

The Kintamani Restaurant is located in the mountains overlooking large volcanos. They offer a wide variety of traditional Balinese, Indonesian and other Asian cuisines. Other dishes are available on request, simply ask. Set in cool surroundings it is a fantastic location, well priced. Highly recommend.

We were brought here by our guide. This was a buffet restaurant. There were lots of food but the majority of it were just to fill the stomach. The only food that was I felt was good enough was the chicken satay. But, it was...BBQ so slowly that you would not want to stand around to wait for it. I suspect this was done deliberately to discourage people like me 8). This is a restaurant I would not recommend.More
