Decided to disregard the last two negative reviews for The Mumbai. A mistake! The service was not too bad. Think we were lucky that a large table already seated when we arrived decided to pay for their drinks and leave because of the long wait...for their food. We received our drinks (two beers and a bottle of red wine) fairly promptly so didn’t mind the wait for the food which was disappointing. Our daughter’s prawn dish contained only three prawns and at 250 EGP (over ten English pounds) was expensive, our son in law’s chicken dish was six small lumps of quite rubbery chicken, the lamb dish was OK, the cucumber raita was very nice but the tiniest portion. The rice and breads were nice. Our son in law asked to see the Manager to complain about the food. He came to our table and said he would get us another prawn, which did not appear, and then sent out a complimentary chicken dish which seemed to be some chicken in tomato soup! We had been looking forward to this meal and were very disappointed. Our daughter and son in law lived here for several years and my husband and I have been visiting for fifteen years so we know the area fairly well. The best Indian used to be at Camel Bar in Na’ama Bay. It was superb. Sadly there no more. We will keep looking for another Indian restaurant on future visits.More

I have been here for dinner with a group of 12 people to celebrate the birthday of a friend of mine. We sat at the outside court. There was only one waiter running the show for the hotel guests at the restaurant and for us...as outsiders. The least I could say about the service is that it was very poor. It took the waiter ages to take the orders, he came back three time to repeat the orders, but never mind that, the orders came missing and people didn't get what they actually ordered. It was a complete mess. The orders took almost two hours to arrive at the table, and was quite warm but not hot. The food was very salty and that was not only my opinion, it was almost everybody's opinion. The chicken I had in my chicken tikka masala was very rubbery. We actually had to eat the food rather than complain about it because God knows how long it was going to take them to replace every salty main dish on the table. Not recommended for big groups. My first and last time there.More

We were told about this restaurant by a resident of Sharm. It’s inside the Grand Hotel but you don’t have to be a guest staying there. The menu was full of classics you would see back at home in England. We met the chef personally...who was from India. The food did not disappoint! The dishes were full of flavours and genuine Indian ingredients! Would highly recommend!More

Loved the restaurant, the interior, the food. A bit slow service, though. Very friendly staff. Was great looking at the chef by the tandoor oven while making nans.

Blink and you would miss it but this little Indian at The Grand Hotel in Hadaba is definitely worth a visit....Service not always the quickest as they cater for hotel guests on set menu first but def worth the wait ....The Sag Aloo (Spinach) is...one of the best I ever had and the Lamb in the Roganjosh was delicously tender...Very reasonably priced...More

This place is part of The Grand Hotel with public access from the street. It came highly recommended to be from the discerning masters of cuisine that own the Elite Dive Centre. Wow. Spice and flavours from heaven cooked by a lovely chap flown in...direct from Mumbai (funny enough). Excellent, friendly and totally efficient service. One of the best Indian dinning experiences I've had in years. Lamb Rogan Josh so full of flavours that I had to ask the waiter to bring out the chef so that I could learn the recipe and thank him. Nothing like Indian food back home but significantly better in terms of spices and flavours. Garlic Nan was good. Mushroom pillau rice was exquisite. If in Sharm and if you like curries you must visit this place. 100% on all fronts.More

Every time we visit Sharm we come here and normally it's not just the one visit! Cannot fault the food. The curry is so tasty and one of the best Indians around and we eat a lot of curry! They are generous portions so sharing...a rice is a good idea. They also have wifi available. The waiter is very attentive. A must go! We hope to visit again next year!More

The Mumbai was attached to our hotel we had a meal here on a night that I didn't feel too good. However, I enjoyed the food and that is unusual for me as I don't usually eat when I'm unwell. I booked again and this...time I fully experienced the amazing plate of taste in front of me. Perfectly cooked Butter chicken yummmmmm . Naan bread so light and Keer dessert. This was the best meal of my holiday and I will return for more.More
