We had all intentions of going to the Mumbai at the Grand Sharm, but the Thompsons representative recommended the Asia House as a better restaurant. We should have stuck with our original plan. The setting is predominantly Chinese, with Chinese lanterns and decor. I requested...the wine list and this came as a greasy laminated sheet, with a selection of three local and two European wines. The menu was limited and this to came in a plastic and greasy folder. Two beers were ordered and arrived fairly promptly but the beer was warm. A starter of Shish Kebab was ordered, this was not on the limited starter menu, but as a main dish shared between two. The kebabs were over cooked, poorly seasoned and spiced, the accompanying garnish tasted better. A tandoori chicken and a jalfrizie chicken were ordered as main dishes, with plain rice, garlic naan and Bombay potato. We have tasted better supermarket TV dinners than the dishes served, in fact I asked for mine spicy and this was done by adding copious amounts of ground pepper. On the bright side the rice was done correctly and the naan bread was passable. The cost for this was 320 Egyptian pounds and to be honest we should have gone to the Grand Sharm's Mumbai and spent considerably more.More
