Huge breakfast! Crab omelette and apple cinnamon pancakes are primo. Atmosphere and TLC from your server? Not so much. But what can you expect on a fishing pier located on the back side of Atlantic City? Prices are a real plus and worth the trip!

Went for 2 days. Charged resort fee of $31.80 per day. Pool was closed and under construction. No one could tell us where the fitness center was. We're told that we could receive phone calls (we have cell phones so not necessary) and internet which...is available throughout the. building for free. We're charged for something not available or just casino guests got for free.More
A very comfortable eatery, informal and open daily until 2 PM for breakfast and lunch. Good service and food.
All the great reviews did not disappoint. Kim was our server, awesome. Food was quick and spot on. A definite stop on every trip going forward
Was looking for breakfast, especially decaf coffee and this place did not disappoint. The breakfast was like food you made right at home. Friendly service, fast, thoroughly cooked with options for everyone even if you have food allergies. Prices were decent and if you stay...in the Tropicana hotel you can get to it without going on the boardwalk.More
Quick and delicious breakfast. Coffee was good. Portions were just enough. The staff was nice and the service was great.
We were told about this restaurant by one of the Tropicana staff. He said it was the best breakfast joint in town. We were staying at the Tropicana and it is located within the Tropicana, but was a little hard to find from the casino,...but two escalators, an elevator and lots of twists and turns, we finally found it. Trust me though, it's well, well worth the trip. The blueberry pancakes are made from scratch and were simply fantastic. All the food was really good and the true shocker was that when the bill arrived, it was, seriously, about 1/2 of what I expected. Great food, nice folks, fantastic price. Great for a family with kids.More
Gilchrist Restaurant is my new go to place. Have been here a few times and the service is great, staff are friendly and the food is terrific. Nice place to eat on the water and enjoy a boat ride after.
Our family was in town for a Basketball Tournament at the Convention Center and was referred here by the locals. The portion sizes were spot on. We all got the Hungry Man breakfast. I had fresh fried cod with mine, my husband had scrapple, and...the boys got bacon. We got apple & cinnamon, blueberry, and chocolate chip pancakes with our meal. The pancakes were fresh and served with whipped butter. Everything was delicious. The wait staff and servers were kind and all worked well to keep things moving very efficiently! Highly recommend this restaurant! Looking forward to visiting again the next we're in AC!More
Solid breakfast food, excellent service, great relaxing location. A different perspective on Atlantic City for us. Will definitely return.
We finally found where this restaurant was and ate breakfast there both mornings of our stay. The breakfast food was so delicious. I tried the waffle special and although I don't order waffles when dining out, this waffle was terrific! Crispy on the outside, soft on...the inside, topped with fresh berries abnd whipped cream. I totally loved it. The hosts that we came in contact with were both great. Service was quick and we felt well taken care of.. Thank you Gilchrist for a great way to start my day! Will definately eat here again. Maybe we will try lunch next time.More
This was my first time to this back bay waterside restaurant. The place is rustic and the view great which is a nice combination. Most seating is outdoor on a large deck, with one large open dining room available inside. They also have a counter...seat area for 8 people that overlooks the outdoor dining section and bay. During busy times, you must add your name to the Hostess’ waiting list. Our order included coffee ($1.75 w/refills), two eggs scrabbled ($4.95), Blueberry Hot Cakes (3 - $10) and a side of sausage ($3.95). What I Liked: - Sitting in a covered area overlooking the water - The scrambled eggs were excellent, a 10! - The pancakes (8” diameter) were not dry - They serve Heinz ketchup What I Did Not Like: - There was a 25-minute wait for a table for two which meant standing in the direct sun - The “The best you’ve ever had” pancakes had an oily taste to them from the griddle and were very thin, no fluff at all - The sausages were average at best Note that you need to pay inside after you receive the check.More

I always return to this little joint when I am in the area. Excellent food at an excellent price. Great views, great service.... can't beat it!
We went for breakfast on a foggy, damp and cold weekday. There was plenty of seating available. We choose to sit outside on the covered deck as they had the heaters on. Amber out waiter was very sweet. She let us know about their specials...of the day. We choose the specials which were a crab, spinach and cheese omelette and apple/cinnamon flat cakes. All came quickly and was delicious. Would come here again.More
