Very old Tea House! Could play Mahjong. Could also get a massage or get your ears cleaned. Beautful garden and lake. Lovely Pagoda!

We booked this last minute and ended up with the obstructed view. Deal-breaker if we had known. No one spoke any English, even to understand we had arranged a booking which was difficult. We showed a picture of a can of Sprite for the kids...and waiter couldn’t fathom what we were taking about. And it ended up they did have sprite, just like the picture I showed. Honestly I felt they were being difficult on purpose. Show was budget, although the kids still enjoyed it. The shadow puppets and the mask changing were the favourites. The microphone volume was cranked to max which on the higher pitched screeches was a bit much. Food was sub par. It’s fine for the low price but if you want to see something special go elsewhere.More
Taken by friends, this can only be described as true experience. The food was indescribable, so many interesting local dishes. The Sichaun Opera was the star of the show, and when we attended it was pretty packed. The staff were great, piling plates and dishes...of food on the table for everyone to try. If you want a good night out in Chengdu, I don't think you could do much better.More
Had a number of local dishes and I suppose the price set a higher-than-average expectation. Judging by the other reviews, probably watching the show would have been a better reason to take a 30-min car ride down than for plan vanilla dinner.
We decided to come here for dinner and the show after reading the reviews. The building is a huge, very nicely decorated tea house. here tripadvisor shows it on the map was correct when we went. The show was a great example of Sichuan Opera....It cost 88yuan so it's most budget friendly than the big one. We saw dancing, solo instrument, shadow puppets, tea pouring with 1m long spouts, a comedy and face changing with fire breathing. The comedy and shadow puppets were boring but the face changing with fire breathing was fantastic, especially as we hadnt seen either before. The dinner menu was huge! Prices ranged from small soups for 8 yuan to dishes that were 300+ yuan. The whole roast duck was delicious. The orange rabbit was full of chopped up bones so we couldnt really eat too much (typical here). The lamb cutlets was yummy but a majority of the actual meat had been cut off and it had lots of peanut which we didn't know (one of our diners had allergies). We also had some soups which were good. Its best to make a reservation - the phone number on tripadvisor works. When it came to paying the bill there were no problems. Overall it was a really enjoyable night out. Our total bill for three satsified, full people was 730 yuan which we are happy with.More
I went here for the show and found it fascinating. It was a good way to see Sichuan culture via music and dance and just fun things. Good for entire family.
The show at the Shungxing old teahouse is incredible. For us was a great opportunity to learn about this ancient culture. The food are very good, but the problem is if you don`t like sichuan cousine, that is very very hot spicy.
I very enjoyed this place. My gf uncle invited us there to experience tradition Sichuan entertainment including art of Sichuan Opera. The atmosphere altogether in fabulous. Large round tables, traditional architecture and design and music. There is even a small museum which I recommend to...walk through as well. There is easy parking also. This place is a must visit if you travel to Chengdu.More
Located in the newer part of Chengdu (to the south), the Shunxing Old Teahouse is an exceptional place to eat; there are many options and we had a private suite for our party of 12. The food was excellent with many Sichuan delicacies and were...of high quality. The service was great and the room overlooked the banquet hall and had a nice view of the stage where the entertainment would be performed. The entertainment program is similar to that of the traditional Sichuan Opera (with the changing faces). All in all, very enjoyable evening with great company, food and entertainment.More
The restaurant is big, like many famous restaurants there. Great local food, very delicious, though a bit costly compared with local restaurants there. It's less than RMB 200 per head to make you full with nice performance show, so still worthwhile.Remember to try roast beef....It is located near the conference centre, good for business trip.More
Had a chance to visit with some friends during a recent business trip to Chengdu. Shunxing came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The place is huge and has many eating areas but we were interested in the show and were able to get great...seats to watch the performances and the face changing acts. The service and the food selections are great. Go and have a great time and be sure to walk the history areas. Its next door to the Intercontinental and the Holiday Inn. Reservations recommended.More
This is located just near the intercontinental hotel and is also connected to it. You can have a large banquet hall or private rooms from all size to accommodate your group. The food is well served and authentic. They also provide vegetarian food.
The restaurant offers the Chinese cuisine, the true one, with all details arranged, and of very high quality. The staff is extremely friendly, and the place is really attractive.
I am sure the only reason to find your self in this part of Chengdu is you are attending an event at the exhibition centre. This restaurant was very nice, good Sichuan spicy stuff, nice decor and friendly staff. They don't speak a word of...English but with a good menu with pictures and English words it wasn't much of a challenge to order. I had more food then I could eat plus tea for about RMB100. Be warned smokers and non-smokers are not segregated.More
