This is an awesome place with absolutely great food. We had a chicken momos and cheesy garlic chips for a stater, and this was super. For the mains, we had a chicken thali and Tikka chicken and a bacon and spinach pizza. The mains we...well prepared. A little slow on the service, but it's worth the wait. The food is excellent and the staff, especially Arjun, was at your service. Met with other international visitors from France, and they also enjoyed the food here. I will highly recommend a visit here and will visit it again.More
Lovely place, very good food! The service can be slow, though. Would recommend and go back there soon again!
My daughter and I had lunch at Kathmandu about 2 weeks ago during our Christmas adventure in Chengdu. We live in another city in China, so we were looking for cuisine that we normally wouldn't find "at home." We tried an Indian curry, some braised...yak, and some really good dumplings. The menu was a bit limited, but it seems that the limited menu allows for the dishes that it does include to be extremely well prepared. Happy hour was a welcome addition, with but two and get three beers! It was reasonable priced for a first-tier city though not cheap[. However, the staff were extremely attentive, welcoming, and friendly. English was not a problem. We will definitely return should we visit Chengdu again!More
After hotpot the day before, we were craving Indian food and this fusion of Indian, Nepalese and Italian (!) appealed to us. Lovely place in the west of Chengdu with seating options outside and inside. Had an Indian and Nepalese dish (they do have Western...food also but we didn't try) and both were delicious along with Lhasa beer. definitely recommend this place and we'll be back on our next Chengdu trip.More
Lovely restaurant in the west of Chengdu. Advertises as a "Himalayan" bistro as it sells food from Nepal, Bangladesh and N India. For the fussy foreigner it also does western food. We ordered starters but everything came together, no problem, just saying. The food was...exquisite, flavoursome without the fire. The yak momos were a real hit. The Sri Lankan style dahl curry was great and the naan bread, the best in town. We actually ordered seconds! Prices are reasonable too, I hope to be back before Christmas.More
Hello from quarantine. Kathmandu is a quality Indian/Nepalese/Italian restaurant in Chengdu. It has made my two weeks here bearable with deliveries of all sorts. The veggie samosas are legit and the chicken tikka is on par with good Indian restaurants I’ve experienced. I will definitely...pay a visit once I’m free and visit Chengdu again.More
I was so pleased to find Kathmandu when I visited Chengdu last week! I ordered the yak momos, the butter fish, and the cheese naan. The butter fish was absolutely delicious and I wish it was bigger because I could have eaten it all night!...The fish just melted in your mouth! The cheese naan was generous and full of cheese. The momos were also an ample plate (I barely ate half of them) and were delicious and a little spicy. I highly recommend Kathmandu while visiting Chengdu if you want delicious Nepali/Indian food!More
I had heard of Kathmandu in Chengdu, but had no idea where it was. I was pedaling around town after a park I wanted to tour was closed due to the #Virus. I found a quiet spot along the river to stop and catch up...on some correspondence. I saw an unassuming little cluster of buildings on the other side and realized that it said Kathmandu above the 1st floor corner spot. It looked closed; but by the time I was ready to head home or find some dinner, the light of their outdoor seating area were on. That was invitation enough. It was their 1st bight reopening after the virus. The ambiance is incredible! An eclectic mix of chill tunes fill the air— not too loud for conversation though. I had the chicken Tikka, minestrone soup, and AlooJira potatoes. Insanely delicious!! Friendly wait staff. I’ve found my new go-to. If you find yourself in Chengdu and you like Indian food, it’s a MUST!!!More
I am a vegetarian and it is hard to find vegetarian food options in Chengdu. However, this restaurant had plenty of options written in Green so you know they are vegetarian. Also the location is right next to the river which is very pretty at...nice. Some English service available but can be busy during peak times.More
They actually have a variety of vegetarian foods on the menu that are easy to find! Delicious pizza, best salad in Chengdu, and delightful desserts! The fusion works really well bringing together all of the different flavors, I do recommend the mixed veg appetizer platter!...Also the cheese balls put me on cloud nine! Beautiful view of the river and a nice casual atmosphere make it an ideal place for long multi course dinners, and you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee with dessert. Service can be slow when they are busy, but I have been there several times and will be going back. Honestly one of my favorite places in Chengdu.More
A wonderful indoor and outdoor setting overlooking a river. This restaurant surely is a one of the kind offering in Chengdu - Nepali food ranging from curries, pizzas and burgers among other varieties to satisfy my hunger. The food were great, portion size was sufficient,...wait time wasn’t long, services were friendly, although sometimes can take some time to respond due to busyness or unable to see what is happening outside due to outdoor covering - a great initiative to protect from bad air quality days in Chengdu. Shout out to the enthusiastic owner Sonam and his team for providing a wonderful experience for my friends and families while we dine at Kathmandu. Will definitely return here again.More
Great food and good service! No better idea Indian place ! Great food like butter chicken and cheese naan plus rice
For all the enthusiasm on here, we felt it was pretty average and also that the beer was watery. It didn’t feel like the ingredients were very fresh and the staff were very cold. Considering it’s so popular, the attitude was simply eat, pay up...and get out as soon as you can.More

My family of four had a wonderful dining experience at Kathmandu. I had seen Kathmandu on Meituan many times but had never tried it, so we finally decided to give it a go, and boy are we glad that we did! We started off with...some garlic cheese fries (surprisingly, they were incredible! we ordered a second one)More
