I can't remember the last time I ate in an atmosphere this pleasant. An absolutely beautiful garden setting, truly lovely hosts, and phenomenal vegetarian food! Though only a 5-minute ride from our hotel, I felt like we'd finally escaped the tourist zone at least a...little, which is not an easy feat in a town like Siem Reap.More

Delicious and fresh vegetarian food. Especially enjoyed the spring rolls with peanut sauce and the red curry. We also tried a very interesting local dessert that the owner took time to explain. Will return!

After weeks of eating meat on a trip to Asia, we were in the mood for something different while vacationing in Siem Reap. Via TripAdvisor we came across this fabulous vegetarian restaurant. We had two dishes that were of incredible flavor bursting with all the...usual Cambodia spices. They were terrific, combining traditional Cambodian cuisine with French accents. We highly recommend this restaurant.More

Good food, reasonable price, excellent service. Must visit. It’s in the middle of the city (pub street area), double storey.

Having struggled to find good vegetarian food I was delighted to find this little restaurant. Our starters were fresh and tasty . However , I ordered an eggplant stir fry and it never arrived . About 15 mins after my husband had finished his Stirring...Curry , I enquired how much longer mine would be .up. I was informed that my order hasn’t been written down and therefore wasn’t coming I mistakenly thought cluttering of pots was my meal cooking but instead it was the cook washing up. Although the manager offered to provide my order it really was too late by then and I finished my husbands leftovers . A disappointing experience.More

We absolutely loved this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we felt comfortable. The setting is pretty and the welcome was friendly but always quietly efficient. The two stand out dishes for us were the wedding day dip and the mushroom pot, simply delicious....This was good honest food with a subtlety to the flavours that made every mouthful a delight.More

Chamkar House is a truly wonderful old style Khmer house and the Vegetarian / Vegan food they serve is exceptionally tasty. The wedding day dip is a must for starter. Mushroom pot & stuffed Tofu are stand out dishes for me but everything I have...had to eat there has been very good. Nicholas the owner is a very creative chef and with his wife Lucy running the service side of things this restaurant should be on every veggie / vegans list of must visit restaurants whilst in Siem Reap. The menu at Chamkar House is fully vegan but this is not commonly known. Check their Facebook for both locations.More

Makes a nice change to go to a restaurant and know the menu is veggie . There’s a smallish menu which is good . Less is more, which means everything is fresh . There’s a couple of starters to share . The!mains were great ....Service was pleasant and efficient . There’s nice fresh drinks .Lime and lemongrass just what you need on a hot sultry night .More

We couldn't get enough of this place. Even though we were on a budget we splashed out the little extra money to visit their restaurant twice because it was so good. The food was heavenly. Highlights were their wedding day dip, mushroom pot and tempeh...cooked in wine. The flavours were so delicate and the quality of the ingredients was high. Portions were not massive but they were happy to give us extra bread and rice free of charge so we always left full. The chef made the time to talk to us, explaining the recipes and their story. In fact, all the staff were extremely hospitable. They took a real interest in making conversation with us that went beyond simply being polite. They gave us some fresh wild thyme they had harvested in France and their contact should we wish to know any more of their recipes. And of course the charming little Sita who was friendly enough to share her colouring book with us. Their restaurant just outside the centre (didn't go to the pub street one) was beautiful and relaxed. We were truly sad when the owner told us they might close down that location because of slow business. This was the best culinary experience we had in 2 weeks of travelling Cambodia. If you are in Siem Reap then definitely consider supporting this great restaurant.More

Lovely little vegetarian oasis tucked away in amongst the Night Market stalls! I had a delicious pineapple and cucumber-based salad, whilst my friends enjoyed the glass noodles. The lime juice was okay, but I would certainly visit again to sample some more vegetarian and vegan...delights!More
