I came here on the recommendation of a guide book so was a little dubious. However I needn’t have been! The staff were friendly and extremely knowledgable. I was travelling with a friend and we had the wine and food pairing menu, which was excellent and which they offered a vegetarian version of. The food was well presented and very tasty and our waiter/sommelier took his time explaining each of the wines and its origins. This wasn’t a cheap meal but neither was it overpriced, with three courses and five different wines this was great value and only wish I could have come back again to try some of the other amazing wines on offer.

Concept of this restaurant is excellent.
Food was delicious.
Wine menu impressive, all from Chile. We really liked their set tasting flight wine menu and also extensive menu that you could make your own flight with.
Sommelier was knowledgable and answered questions. He recommended one wine which we would not normally order but it turned out to be excellent so we bought a bottle of it!
One of best meals we had in Chile and we enjoyed being able to try lots of wines at affordable prices.
More wine regions around the world should offer this wine flight set up.

This restaurant was recommended by our driver, it has a cafe style atmosphere with basic furnishings.
We had lunch which was slow cooked lamb shoulder and the sommellier recommended a Carmeniere red wine which was a great choice. they have a very extensive wine list that the sommellier is more than happy to discuss with you!
The lamb shoulder was so tender and flavoursome and we had dessert with a nice glass of dessert wine. I would be happy to recommend a visit to this restaurant!

One of the best meals we have had in Chile! Bocanariz provides a wonderful way to sample a number of wines from the region. They have flight, single glass and bottle options to satisfy all desires. Iván was extremely helpful in suggesting wine parings and detailing the history of the wines we selected.
The experience was so wonderful we invited some friends to join us mid way through our meal and they too raved about the quality of food. The depth and unique flavors in some dishes really did make for one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We heard many guests making reservations to come back because the food was so good. We will definitely be back!

We did not have a booking but the staff found us a table. We had a mixture of vegetarians and meat eaters and everyone really enjoyed the food. You buy 3 different taster wines grouped into various headings which are all Chilean. We are not knowledgeable in wine and the helpful waiter gave us some information to help us chose. Although the wine was nice, we fee the food was what made this place special.

This restaurant was recommended by our guide from Tours4Tips and he was right! They offer 250 different Chilean wines and a wonderful menu for the ultimate pairing experience. Our waiter explained the origin of each wine and the conditions in which it was grown and recommended the best wines to accompany the appetizer we ordered. We were to rushed and the experience was top notch. If you are a wine person, find this little gem in Lastarria!

This is excellent choice to enjoy Chilean wine combining really taste and visually very nice portions of food. We had 3 course menu with wines recommended with 39 000 pesos/person. We can highly recommended this option. Also available variety of nice tasting sets of whites, reds, sparkling and eg Ocean to Mountain. Friendly, English speaking staff.

Came here for a late lunch. We almost didn’t, because although the venue is very close to the hotel we stayed in, google maps sends you to the back street that runs parallel with Jose Victorino. Helpful locals guided us to this small but well known place. We were met by Antonia who hosted us through a spectacular afternoon of fine food and wine. All of which was recommended by her. Initially, we were placed on a high table for 4 which we thought was a bit small for all the plates and wine we were sharing, so we asked if we could add another table and within no time the staff had rearranged the tables to accommodate us. First class service from a very friendly team. Our favourite dishes: salmon with avocado, mushroom tortellini, mixed blue cheese salad, black pudding with beetroot.
Great experience of Chilean food, wine and hospitality.

This is a wine bar/restaurant in the Bellas Artes district of Santiago. We had heard good things about it and we were not disappointed. They have a huge selection of Chilean wine served by the glass, bottle or in predetermined flights. Our party started with a rose wine to quench our thirst while having a cheese and jamon starter. With dinner we all tried flight of wine. They were very unique and well thought out. Everyone found at least one favorite while tasting through the 3 wines served. Dinner was truly excellent. the quality level of the food was top shelf. Favorites of our group were the mushroom tortilini, mushroom carpaccio (sounds strange but was amazing), ceviche and fresh fish. The neighborhood is a little gritty but totally safe (the few neighborhoods we visited were gritty by US standards but we never felt unsafe). If in Santiago I would make this a must try.

We stopped here on a whim while walking around one afternoon and we are happy we did! The sommelier guided my partner and I to wine flights; I chose the "iconic", which brought out three wonderfully delicious wines. We shared a plate of olives which were nicely brined and not too overpowering. I wish we stayed for dinner! Several people were turned away for not having a reservation- I would recommend making one for dinner!

We ate at this restaurant on our first night in Santiago. It did not disappoint. We combined a tasting of some Chilean wines with a very nice dinner -- my octopus was especially delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines but also a lot of fun, not stuffy at all. This was a good find.

Arriving, as one does, in the middle of a riot (tear gas et al!) we took refuse in our hotel. On venturing out an hour or so later we walked around the corner into this amazing place. We were very lucky in that a table was available straight away and in choosing the tasting menu we sampled some fabulous food along with a range of delightful Chilian wines. Expert guidance was provided by the very knowledgeable staff.
One of my all time food and drink experiences I'd say! We'll be back!

3.5, so I rounded down. Billed as pairing wines with food, so we tried the paired tasting menu. Food was very good and designed to go with the wines they chose. Unfortunately, the 3 wines for the appetizers were not good. The main course was accompanied by a full pour of an excellent and well matched wine. We appreciated the vegetarian options. Sommelier was initially helpful, then vanished for most of the rest of the evening.

I was treated here for lunch by colleagues after giving a seminar at the university. It has one of the best and widest selections of local wines; they give wine flight samplings and pairings with food. We had the menu de dia, meal of the day. Quite good and elaborate for about 11900 pesos. Starter was a strudel with blood sausage and mango chutney. I am not a big blood sausage fan, but when in Rome...and it was good. Main was the salmon in the photo, layered potatoes with a creme sauce. Very good plus enjoy fresh salmon while in Chile. Dessert was a tiramisu with lots of berries and creme sauces. Very good, but it was layered on something that had the texture of cardboard. My only complaint. Wine was included. Excellent glass of Cabernet sauvignon. Coffee, a macchiato, was perfectly prepared..so many places do it wrong. So another high mark. Ambience and service were excellent. Highly recommended for tourist looking for an excellent place prized by locals

We were excited to try Bocanariz after reading so many positive reviews. Seating, ordering, beverage service and appetizer service were acceptably timed, and the sparkling wine recommendation was spot on. And all the food was delicious and interesting, if a bit rich for my palette.
However, after our original server faded from the outdoor scene, no one was paying any attention to us nor seemed responsible for serving us. When we asked anyone for something, they were responsive. But we waited at least 45 minutes for our entrees, and only received them after complaining. The worst part was that not a single server was the least big apologetic. Even when I declined to pay the gratuity, and calmly explained why, my disappointment was repeatedly dismissed with "this isn't a fast food restaurant."
