As we read a lot of good recommendations about this place, me and my girlfriend decided to try it out. From the outside and when entering the building i seems kind of shady but then on the second floor there is the most buzzing and...busy restaurant I’ve ever been to. Which I guess is what they where a bit slow to give us a table. But after a while when one of few english speaking waiters seated us, there was no time to waste. The guy literally threw the plates on the cutlery on the table and run away. Two minutes later he came back and suggested we should have the Peking duck, which we did have. The food was good but nothing more. To be honest I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get the whole duck, the waiter just sliced up some pieces that mainly consisted of skin and fat. We paid somewhere around 40£ which I feel is a lot more than it was worth. To add we were to only tourists there among all the locals, which is the reason why i would consider coming back. For the atmosphere and the genuine feel it provides.More

We hadn't planned to go during our short time in HK but we were able to book a table at the last minute by going when they first opened. Now we have our video of the chef carving our duck and we have our memories...of superb Peking Duck. All of the positive reviews here are correct.More

We had a tasty meal here, but it's not as cheap as you might expect. Don't be put off by the downmarket entrance and stairway. Lots of lcoals eat there which is always a good sign. Service was prompt, not overly friendly, but efficient.

Traditional Chinese restaurant. Attentive and helpful staff. No fancy decor or dish display. I recommend Peking duck and wanton chicken soup. Dishes come in S/M/L size but even the small size dish is in large portion. Value for money but better come in large group...so you can order a number of dishes to taste.More

It is nice to see some things do not change. We came here many years for the Peking Duck. We were almost afraid to come back, but decided to see if it had changed. It had changed very little in both terms of atmosphere and...food - still one of the best ducks in town. Definitely go.More

We were recommended this restaurant as we wanted Duck and really enjoyed both the breast and skin as well as the stir fry with the remainder (though we had to ask for it). Unfortunately the pancakes were thick and dry, and not served in the...steam basket. Service was efficient.More

We've ordered 6 meals for the 3 of us. After 1 hour we didn't have any food, despite asking waiters several times. 1h20min after ordering we got 2 of the 6 dishes. Another 15min later and several excuses of the waiters and management we decided...to pay for what we had, and left as hungry as we came. Never again.More

The management team has changed and I also assume some of the old chefs. Came here for dinner and lunch and what a major disappointment. I have been visiting this restaurant for more than 30+ years and such a shame to see things have changed...for the worse. This is simply not a good restaurant anymore, the dishes got smaller, they are cutting corners, using frozen goods, not home made, the wrappers for Peking Duck was obviously purchased from the outside, unlike the thick ones you used to get. And most importantly, they have jacked their prices so simply a rip off. Don't bother with this place, such a shame.More

This restaurant is very unethical. We ordered a whole duck and were only given thin slivers of Duck. See my pic. The wrap was cold, dry and half cooked, still had flour remnants. We were charged for tea that we never asked for. Once you...sit down, they just place the tea down. The pickles I speak of are the things that are part of the Peking duck wrap, but yet we were charged extra for that. It’s pretty ridiculous how unethical this business runs. I can’t believe that they are considered one of the top choices for Peking duck in HK. We spent $63 USD on this disgusting meal. I asked the managers what each item on the bill was as it was in Chinese, and he told me what was what. I told him I never asked for the pickle and tea and he just ignored me. I’m so disgusted. Stay the F away, people!More
