Admittedly we went on a Sunday without booking, but the look of condescension on the maitre d's face was a real turn off! However, this was all forgotten by the time the food arrived. The cute factor overload was almost overwhelming at times - witness the piggy faced buns, the smiley face custard buns, the birds in a cage et... More

Headed over to Yum Cha in January when a few friends were visiting me in Hong Kong. Definitely worth a stop over if you are looking for a fun contemporary Dim Sum concept instead of a trip to a fancy chinese restaurant. Things that I liked: 1. Fun contemporary cafe setting with two outlets - one in TST near all... More

Set in a "food truck" motif third floor mall in the newly renovated Nam Fung Center, the Hong Kong branch of the small Yum Cha franchise has all of the fun/cute food of the TST original, plus the contemporary/edgy decor. All of the usual dim sum suspects are there, but the presentations and flavors are updated---mostly towards a spicier/deep fried... More

Saw those cute dim sum so I decided to visit the restaurant with my friends. We are a group of four, but they offered us a table for 2. Altogether we ordered 12 dishes, after we finished the cute custard bun, the other 11 dishes arrived almost at the same time. I do not expect to rush my dinner, arrange... More

We went to the Yum Cha that recently opened on Des Vouex Road Central. Fun, good food to share with friends or your family. A huge selection of dim sum and other Chinese dishes. It was crowded and lively. The decor is pleasant too. Hopefully, because it just opened, the service will improve.

We were recommended this new eatery and we were glad we followed it up. The restaurant is in a hotel which is yet to open so the entrance was not obvious. When we arrived it was very full and the management did not have a record of our booking which we had made on line (an excellent web site) but... More

- Family of eight (aged 3-74) - Local Hong Kong and European mixed demographics - Fairly easy to book (The Kowloon (TST) restaurant was full, so we booked to go to the one in Central) - Overall review: Food was so good, we didn't even take pictures! I am a local, majority of the dim sum restaurants in HK are... More
