This one is in Tseung Kwan O believed to be an expansion by the next generation. Surprisingly they make very good “Iced Lemon Tea” and “Iced Milk Tea” which cannot even found in “Chai Tsan Tenk” any more. The beef organs are great! The Chew...Chow fish balls and fish dumplings are also same old great!! Deep Frued Fushskin are lovely. A Must Go.More

As I was tasting in the area, I decided to try this famous eatery. [Thanks for Mjqueen7e for sending me the address.] This place serves simple macaroni, noodles and toasts. One of the items was quite interesting! FRIED NOODLES, I wonder if it is noodles...literally deep fried! The chili sauce was quite funny, the lid was a sauce dish. Anyway, ordered the famous beef and egg toast from the ex-TV actor. The toasts were prepared in the tiny kitchen. ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ beef and egg toast: It was the usual wonky shaped toast without the edges because no one eats the edges in Hong Kong. Inside the sandwich, it was filled with moist minced beef in gravy in the form of a messy omelette. The moist beef in gravy filling in the toast is unique which makes it famous. The taste of egg and minced beef with a hint of sweetness was really nice but the beef has bits and pieces that could not be chewed which was the only thing that ruined it. It was also hard to eat because the filling kept falling out which reminded me of Sloppy joe which also has minced beef. ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★More

I had been here for the beef and egg toast many times, this is the best in Hong Kong! Their red bean drink is also good. Pls come to try if you want to taste local food at cheap price!

Well, that was worth the effort. Tried one, bought a another. It didn't look like much at first but after eating it, yeah! Tried a bit of chilli on it too. Glad I did it. They're open 24hrs so a great place to tick off...a check list if you arrive on a late flight. And they're near the train station. A good place to try HK milk tea.More

During our Hong Kong visit, we visited a different cha chaan tang every morning for breakfast, and this was our favourite. The food was excellent, and the staff was really lovely. This place is famous for its beef and scrambled egg sandwiches and Hong Kong-style...french toast. The sandwiches were so good, my husband immediately ordered a second after finishing his first one. NOTE: There are actually two locations for Sun Hang Yuen and both are in the area of Sham Shui Po, just around the corner from each other. The Yu Chau Street location is more modern and air-conditioned. The original Kweilin Street shop, open since 1968, is a little rougher around the edges (but that makes for a more authentic experience, right?) - a pokey little hole in the wall restaurant which is open 24 hours!More

I must admit, I wasn’t convinced that this beef toast was going to be worth the valuable stomach space it was going to occupy. I was so wrong. It was delicious! Who would have thought that toasted bread, egg & spicy meat stuff would be...so tasty. The flavour was quite unique. Would definitely go back for more.More

We bought the house special beef and egg sandwich on toasted bread and a milk tea as takeaway because we did not want to wait for seats. We ate on the street outside of the restaurants. The sandwich was perfect. The bread was nicely toasted,...the sandwich filling was juicy with plenty of beef. The milk tea was well balanced with strong tea and milk. A great anytime snack and worth making a stop. .More

First visit to this cha chaan tang. Followed recommendation in booklet on Shamshuipo. Tried their corn beef with egg on toast. Very good indeed. Together with a cup of honey lemon tea, the cost was only HK$39. Shared a table with a couple having French...toast which looked and smelled really appetizing. Their order sounded very long. When I asked them what exactly did they order, they said they asked to add fresh milk and to toast the bread a bit longer. The food other customers were having all looked very appealing. Must come again to try other items on the menu.More

So back here for quick bite as I like to browse around Apliu Street, the Golden Computer Center (best place for techies in the whole entire HK). Price of sandwich with an ice cold Yin Yueng (half and half coffee and milk tea) now fetched...HK $39 price tag. Kind of the norm in HK, prices keep creeping up even in peasant neighborhood like SSP.More

The environment is not good, and it's not clean enough. As a local fast food restaurant, it has its own history since 1968. Open for 24 hours, so that you can visit anytime. You have to share a table with other people. Choose another place,...if you mind.More

I get it... I'm in a "ghetto" part of HK. Honestly, I ain't even surprised. I'm more worried about the fact that I told the manager and he looked long and hard. He realized he had no excuse for it and just said "sorry about...that". For 21$ I could have got something from starbucks or a nice bbt. He didn't give me a discount and went on to charge me FULL PRICE... i mean maybe in his eyes I got a bonus? Shouldn't his reaction be to apologize more genuinely and ask his staff to throw that batch of coffee out? Anyways, the egg sandwich was average... nothing as spectacular as advertised.More

Although most people come here for the great breakfast, I like the noodle soups here, the braised pork knuckle noodle is to die for! The portions are a tad small, and you can easily have two, but that’s ok when it’s so cheap!

Their beef sandwich and French toast was great. Sandwich was toasted with beef fried with egg. The iced red bean and iced pineapple cannot be missed too. Not too sweet and good combination with the toast and sandwich.

In the gritty neighborhood of SSP (Sham Shui Po), you are not going to find much fine dining. This place is open 24/7, been around long time, known for cheap, very good food and quite fast turnover. Do not bring you date unless he/she is...a foodie and care for nothing else. This place is downright unclean looking, cramp because most likely you have to share table, and I am not sure English speaking tourists are that welcome here (they are not lacking in customers and probably don't want to become a tourist joint with non-Chinese speaking customers, thus delaying their fast turnover). I have many times ordered their signature dishes: basically beef omelet sandwich (make sure order toasted $1 extra but worth it). It is flavorful, cheap. The other dish is their pig feet noodles, tender and marinated well with just the right chewiness. Everything else are good too. This visit I have their congee (pig liver with sliced beef), quite good too. So, cheap peasant food in a no nonsense joint. Forgo all the decor, cleanliness, pretentious wait staff. If you are foreigner and adventurous, bring a local Chinese speaking friend to interpret/order.More
