Fabulous birthday dinner! My first time here and the food were absolutely great! Rebecca who looked after our table is one of the reason that I’m writing this review because of her professional and passionate service. She definitely made this birthday a special one!

A warm greeting at the front door was a good indicator of how the rest of the evening went. Welcomed by the open kitchen and wall of lucky gold cats, it’s a fun take on what to expect from a traditional Cantonese restaurant. The service...was personable and friendly but not overly so. Small attention to detail throughout our meal made it clear they were looking after our every need. The food was incredible!! Certainly not Uber traditional but that’s not what we wanted - the prawn toast, mapo tofu and cheong fun noodles were the highlights 😍 We noticed the Chef come downstairs and mingle with a few tables which left everyone smiling and was great to see how much she cared for the guests! We were given some shots at the end of the meal to ‘help digestion’ 😆 can’t wait to go back!!More

I recently had dinner here for the first time and have to say we'll most definitely be back. The service from the minute we stepped in was impeccable. Quality and innovative Chinese like you rarely see. We were satisfied with the number of dishes we had...ordered. Extensive & interesting wine list topped off with a groovy ambient atmosphere. I will definitely be back!More

Nice relaxed ambience. Very attentive and friendly wait staff. Service too was engaging, fun and not too pompous. All this and quiet enough to have a conversation when we took at break from eating and drinking. Did I also say the eclectic wine list is...great and the advice extremely helpful.More

First time back to Lee Ho Fook in a few years. It’s now much more high end dining. I every good way! High quality product with a blend of seafood courses, vege course and meat courses and desserts. Every dish was beautifully plated and were...just sensational in flavours and taste. The wines were some of the best we've ever had. The sommelier relayed a wealth of knowledge about each and every wine. A little hard to get up the stairs but all good. Our family went to this restaurant as a special occasion and it delivered.  The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive. We loved the food and the atmosphere. Jules truly looked after us; service was impeccable.More

3 stars is generous Extremely overrated. Absolutely freezing cold like a morgue, strange table layout meaning that you couldn’t hear what anyone was saying and other tables for two were on top of each other, like a bus queue. 98hkd per person for “free flow...water” Jeezzzz. No toilet roll in toilets. Great music and decor which saved it. Food pretty good but no better than a hundred other hk places at a tenth of the price. Over-rated I’m sad to say and was really looking forward to it.More

Excellent food in a beautiful location. Have been coming here for a few years every once in a while but recently visited for the first time after the renovation. The dining room has greatly benefited from the revamp, and is a lot brighter and more...vibrant. We started off with the dumplings, and they were simple yet perfect with a little touch of spice. For mains, we ordered a steamed barramundi that was melting in our mouths with juiciness, and of course we also had the great char siu that is a highlight and a must-order for anybody who comes here. Everything meshed well with the egg fried rice, and we were delighted that our server Jules remembered our preference for trying a variety of spicy sauces from a previous visit. The restaurant has a wide variety of available sauces, from a fermented ‘GOCHUJANG’ type sauce to a habanero puree, and each of them adds a new dimension to flavour to the dishes. The only slight disappointment was the Margarita ordered — it was passable but seemed lacking in any special flavour that would make it stand out from the crowd or that would add to the food. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the other dishes another time. Well worth the slightly higher prices for Chinese food here in HK.More

After waiting so long to actually eat here, my expectations were sky high but were easily met. I came here with a friend and the food blew me away and filled me right up too. The dumplings to start were excellent, as were the plate...of char siu (maybe the best I’ve had) and cabbage side. However, as mentioned in the title, it is the short rib which will be bringing me back. It’s probably the single best meat dish I have ever had, anywhere. Yes it’s pricey but my word it’s worth it. A perfect dish basically. I can see why this place is so highly regarded and wish I had been before!More

I have never not had a great night at Ho Lee Fook. Apart from the food, which is consistently good, the other thing that deserves a mention is the service. The staff are warm and welcoming. Someone is there to greet you at the door...as soon as you arrive and they seem more like wonderful hosts, than waiters. SETTING: There are a lot of fun elements to the décor, starting with the name. The wall of mah-jong tiles caught my eye and you can’t miss the feature wall of waving lucky cats (which made me look up what a group of cats is called – it’s a clowder). Head downstairs, beneath the giant peacock, to the dining area. The lighting is dim, almost dark, which gives it an underground/basement nightclub feel.
 FOOD:
The menu is modern Chinese. Last night, we had a few favourites and tried a few new dishes. The “Mom’s” pork dumplings and prawn toast are always favourites. As always, the highlight is the Wagyu ribs, a large platter with a big rib bone with wonderfully charred chunks of meat on one side and tender slices of meat laid out on the other side and a green shallot kimchi. Last night we also tried the clams, XO cheung fun noodles and the steamed barramundi. Of these new dishes, the barramundi was the best. It was tender and soft, with a light soy, ginger, shallot flavour. We finished by sharing a couple of desserts. One was a quirky, unusual blend of Horlicks ice cream, honey cornflakes and fresh raspberries which was sort of interesting but odd. The other one was a very fresh and lovely apple granita/sorbet mix which was a very nice palate-cleansing finish to the meal. Complimentary sake was an unexpected treat. Overall, another fabulous night at Ho Lee Fook. NOTES: They used to have a no-bookings policy for groups of less than 5 which was always a bit tricky but they now take bookings (at least during this covid-19 period).More
