Went twice, wonderful atmosphere and very attentive staff. The first time we went it was quiet and we had our own personal waiter MG who went to great lengths to make sure we had a nice break from our sightseeing. On our second visit it...was very busy and we had to wait a while for our snacks, it was however a wonderful space to relax in. Everybody worked well as a team, each member helped other ones out. A very special place and well worth a visit or two .......More

A hidden cafe next to the pier with a stunning view and friendly staff. Food may not be the best but supporting this social enterprise for a good cause.

Normally this place is quiet but the day I went they had a function there. The decor was quite dreamy and relaxing. A nice selection of lemon tarts, carrot cakes and quiches. ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ Vanilla cupcake: Unfortunately, the cupcake was not as good as it looked...but I appreciated the fact that I was given a fork to eat it. The cake was too dense and sweet for my liking. I wished I ordered the quiche instead.More

Situated above the Maritime museum, this collective cafe serves very good light foods and is staffed by youngsters who might struggle to find a job elsewhere. Recommended.

This cafe is absolutely lovely. The food and drink is great, the view from outside is amazing and the staff are just wonderful. This cafe offers people who are ‘different’ a chance to have a job and experience new skills. We really enjoyed an afternoon...here we would definitely come back.More

This wonderful café is at the top of the Maritime Museum on Pier 8 Central. The coffee is great, the food delicious and the staff fantastic. I can recommend the carrot cake with a pot of tea! This café is a social enterprise where folks...who are "differently abled" are employed and given the opportunity to learn many skills. The staff are friendly and helpful. You will be greeted with smiles as soon as you walk through the door. During my month in Hong Kong I made several visits to Café 8 and I was always impressed. It was hard saying goodbye when my time was up. This is a not- to-be-missed cafe and it is a win-win experience.More

This Nesbitt Centre-run cafe provides people with learning difficulties with employment opportunities and that’s a great thing in and of itself BUT the fact that it stands to be judged by its own merits and does very well objectively is even more impressive. Some of...the previous reviewers have left what look to be pretty mean comments about service and, considering the needs/difficulties of the staff, that might seem unfair...and it probably is. However, it’s also actually pretty great that the staff are doing such a good job that they are held up to the same standards as everyone else: lots of customers might not even realise. Anyway, our drinks and dessert were lovely, in a pretty setting with a great view. Cafe 8 is a wonderful place in every way.More

Popped in on a Sunday in Hong Kong to get away from the big complexes, heat, humidity and crowds. Mostly white tourists/expat customers and staff to be seen inside this cafe today. Great music and air conditioning. Served an American breakfast (including a good espresso...coffee). No view of the water that we could find but the window seats let us look over the cloud covered peak and city skyline. Loved the way the business supports staffing with people with an intellectual disability. Our waiter had Down Syndrome and provided a great service.More

We stopped here for an afternoon snack of desserts and beverages before continuing our sightseeing. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. Our desserts were very good and portions were large. Service was brusque. It was too cool and...windy to eat outside. The cafe is clean and has a simple decor and quiet atmosphere. Rest rooms are on the ground floor and were a little tricky to find. If you're looking for something light close to the Star Ferry Terminal, this is a good choice.More

Had a well priced panini and a soda water here - HK$124 which is well priced for the city. Also, the shop is staffed by young people who have learning and other challenges and this in itself is something worth while to support The views...outside are great, the food good and the staff and project need support and encouragementMore

Perfect for laid back casual brunch with view , while you keep your budget intact. Family-Kid friendly place, both for food and ambience. Have high respect for employing physically challenged people here. Must try their tiramisu, better than other restaurants we have had in hk....Thou not a fan of their washroom that is down below (2floor down) with a code from the shop to get in. But it’s place itself is highly recommendable. Will be back.More

If you are after a reasonably priced place to eat, right near the Star Ferry terminal, not too busy, has seating in and outside and supports a real withy cause then please do come to Cafe 8. Look for the Hong Kong Maritime Museum and...go up a level. It’s clean and has nice cakes and cafe type mains with alcohol too. The cafes ethos is to provide training opportunities for students of NGO’s in HK. It’s fantastic. Top tip. Ask for the code to the toilet on the ground floor.More
