Not for the faint hearted. It’s not our first time and most dishes are spicy. If you are not fond of the numbing chillies used in Sichuan cooking this is probably not your kind of restaurant. The set menu is very and very well priced. Portions are generous so it’s good to share. Service is efficient and friendly.

Qi - House of Sichuan is simply the best Sichuan restaurant in Hong Kong. Food is consistently of a high standard and you cannot go wrong by simply ordering the signatures dishes. Special mention and a must order dishes include the cumin lamb, chilli wontons and mapo tofu. Prices are reasonable and portions are just right. The only reason for not giving a 5-star rating is the service. Staff are not attentive and too often need to be called to provide basic services like refilling drinks. Dining on the balcony is highly recommended and creates a nice al fresco vibe. If you are after great spicy Sichuan cuisine, look no further than Qi House of Sichuan.

Poor experience. This felt like a tourist trap. This claims to be a Chinese restaurant but the food tasted like American Chinese, not authentic Chinese at all. Portions were small. The space is tight and tables are spaced very close together. Ambience is terrible. There is loud western music like a night club. Service is so so. I would never come back

Very nasty experience at Qi, Wan Chai. The website listed closing hour as 3.00pm. Certain other websites mentioned 2.30 pm. So I called at 1 pm and a nasty man yelled saying "1.45 pm last order". I asked him to reserve a table . He hung up twice. At 1.45pm I was 5 mins away- called them to order on phone . A nice man said it’s totally fine to come as they were open. At the restaurant the nasty man entered yelling no no - last order done. The other man tried to convince him but it was useless. Information on website and on phone calls were misleading but what left a bad taste was the appalling behavior of this man who clearly is in the wrong industry. We were yelled at despite doing due diligence to check. We were 3 with 2 senior citizens and to be yelled at, as if we were there for free food was unacceptable. No fine food & no restaurant rating justifies the way we were treated! QI, Wan Chai - please do update the timings on your websites and other platforms and train your staff in basic manners! Such a shame for a place that offers delicious food!

we were there for dinner and the good came cold and the tables are set in a way that its very difficult for them to serve good at the end of the table. the quality of food was disappointing and the service was poor. this used to be one of my favourite restaurant but recently their food quality has deteriorated and service getting from average to worst. I hope they do something about it or they will keep losing their old customers. not that they were busy or full / they had only 5 tables with guest and totally disappointed with the service and food quality..

I was in Hong Kong for a week and this place was so good that we got it twice! We got delivery on our first night as we had heard that it was good and we did the same on our last night, was so tasty couldn’t leave without having it again. The ginger beef was amazing and I can’t wait to have it again

I have been dining with Qi for quite awhile, at least 6-7 times in the past 6 months; been supporting the business during quarantine, when they only have maximum two three tables of guests at peak hours. I was here tonight with my family, the food is still good but honestly very very disappointed with the quality of service - my family and I have decided to visit Qi very last minute today, we totally understand if they are busy so we called ahead and see if they have a table. As they have no table indoor so they asked if we are ok with outdoor seating, assured us there is a fan, afterall, it was 30 degree celsius. With the reassurance, we arrived at the restaurant only to find out they only have one fan for one table which the diners seem very close to the staffs, and our table was left at a burning hot corner. We waited around 10 minutes until finally someone was here to take the order, and we asked very politely if they could move us indoor if there is any indoor seat became available later, because we were all soaking in our sweats. The waiter, was soooo rude, and just said there is no table indoor. I mean, obviously, we see that, thus we were asking if the arrangement would be possible later instead of demanding something impossible. More importantly, we were promised with a fan outdoor to begin with- we would not come here, with our right mind, if we knew there would not be a fan at outdoor seating, to have spicy food, under a 30 degree Celsius temperature. The waiter was like, ya we have fan, just that one. Thank you very much - I guess I understand now why they have lost that one Michelin star - I do not expect amazing service, but basic manner, which is obviously not available.

Mind-blowing good food! The best Szechuan food I’ve ever had! You should try the double cooked pork! The house cocktail (Red Dragon) is awesome

This Sichuan restaurant is located in Wanchai J Senses, with Michelin 1-star status for the last four years but in the recent 2020 list was taken out. The restaurant offers authentic Sichuan dishes so if you cannot take spicy food you might need to rethink coming here for the explosive flavors. Coming here on Christmas Eve, we opted to sit inside but in fact there are a nice terrace where diners can enjoy the view from the street on the balcony. The decor is modern with the dark tone mixed with red, quite comfortable if you are sitting on the sofa, but for those on the other side you might need to be excused when other diners or staff walk behind you, with the distance between the chairs and the glass wall quite narrow. The appetizers provided are really spicy and got us a taste of what to come. We ordered Smashed Cucumber ($60) to start as cold appetizer. The cucumber was crunchy and seasoned nicely, refreshing and I found it a nice balance to neutralize some of the spicy dishes I had afterwards. Then we had Hot and Sour Soup ($60). This is a signature dish and I totally agree, with the soup having the great balance of hot and sour. For the local flavors it would be on the spicy side, and while I enjoyed every single drop of the soup I also kept on sweating profusely. There are also plenty of ingredients, with the pig's blood, shredded pork, mushroom, tofu and others all contributing to the soup. One of the best hot and sour soup in town, but you might want to dial down the spiciness if you are not used to Sichuan cuisine. Next comes Impossible Mapo Tofu ($130). Instead of the normal beef, this dish is using the impossible meat, a plant-based protein which got similar texture and flavors to the beef, and I found it a good match in this dish. The tofu is smooth and the sauce spicy but not overly so, full of flavors and a great dish with rice. Having something non-spicy, we also got Sweet and Sour Iberico Pork Collar ($180). Very colourful in presentation, the pork collar has been deep-fried first to maintain a crunchy surface while a soft and moist interior. The sweet and sour sauce is very nicely done, highlighting both the elements perfectly without masking each other, and the bell pepper and pineapple are a great complement too. Next we had another signature dish, the Crispy Diced Chongqing Style Chicken with Cashew Nut ($235). Great in aromas even before eating, the diced chicken is very nicely deep-fried to make it crispy but not overly dry, and I also like the fact the flavors of the different spices and chili are fully absorbed into the chicken, unlike in many other restaurant the chicken are simply deep-fried then mixed with the chili without the flavors. There also also plenty of chicken pieces too. A must-try in this restaurant in my opinion. We also ordered a Steamed Bun ($55) which is nice, with the condensed milk provided to dip for those who like the pairing. For dessert we had Red Bean Pancake ($75). The red bean paste is nice, appropriately sweetened but not overly so, with the pancake deep-fried but not showing much oiliness. A great conclusion to the meal. The service is overall decent, but like most Chinese restaurants there is no sufficient interactions from the staff to diners, explaining the dishes or checking in the food. The bill was $1,237 and for 3 person I think the price is very reasonable and if you like spicy food, this one is a good recommendation.

Great Sichuan food, must visit if you want to eat some good spicy Chinese food. The food quality is top notch and very consistent, can vouch for this since I have visited frequently during my several visits to HK.
