Food quality and service are both very good. Parking is not a problem as there is a multi-story car park just a few steps away. Price are not cheap for the area but overall quality is very good. Reservation is always needed.

Yixin is a boutique Cantonese restaurant in Wan Chai. Renowned for traditional Cantonese flavor, it is one of the few places to enjoy the old taste. Yixin is pretty popular among the socialites and thus reservation is essential. Many of the dishes served are not...available elsewhere. Shrimp toast is crispy. Fried chicken wing, a longtime delicacy, is a must. The meat remains juicy. Fried milk is rich and creamy. Service is impeccable. Price is on the upper end but quite reasonable.More
Yixin is one of the oldest Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong. It is now a solid option in Wan Chai. The menu offers the typical dim sum and some old-fashioned flavors. Food in general is fine. The dim sum and barbecued meat are nice but...fried rice is not particularly remarkable. Price is on the upper end. Overall, an acceptable choice for business lunch.More
Service was great, very attentive, Nice settings for the restaurant. The traditional dishes were all well cooked and tasty. We had the fried milk, the lemon chicken, the pipa duck, satay beef, the prawn toast, a tofu dish and some dessert. All excellent.
The restaurant is good for traditional Cantonese dishes and dim sums. Food came sizzling hot and all were tasty. Prompt service and the teapots were refilled quickly.
My colleagues and I went to Yixin Restaurant at Hennessey Road for a business lunch for 6 people. We ordred the standard lunch menu and had excellent choice of 3 Dim Sums - prawn dumplings, siu mai and steamed dumplings. We had the roast duck...and lemon chicken as the 2 main meat dishes as well as garoupa in hot pot and bean curd with thousand years' eggs and an excellent Chinese soup. All came to around HK$200 per head. The service was excellent and the lunch was served within one hour. Very good for busy Hong Kongers who need to return to office on time for business meetings in the afternoon.More
The food here is consistently good. My favourite over three visits was the lemon chicken. The chicken is deboned for this one, deep fried and served with separate lemon sauce. The lemon sauce is fragrant and fruity, not cloying or over-sweet, which made this the...best lemon chicken I have ever had. The barbecue items were also very good - roast duck and barbecue pork were to a high standard although foreigners should note that poetry is general served with bones, even after it has been chopped, which is the classic Cantonese style. The fried rice dishes are well done and the prawn toast excellent. Vegetable dishes were also good. The crab with egg white was interesting and we couldn't agree on whether it was wow or not very nice. I liked it although it was a bit eggy. Had dim sum on third visit and this was solidly four out of five. I would recommend avoiding vegetarian dim sum and the baos but the fresh squid and dishes in soup were very good. Service is top notch and friendly. Atmosphere is good and looks mainly local. Will be back.More
4 of us were celebrating my birthday. Food was declining since last visit. We had the lemon chicken, steam eggplant, deep fried cow's milk and something else so ordinary that I couldn't remember. The chicken was overdone which was quite tough, steam eggplant was overly...salty the rest of the food was just ok. Paid nearly HK$1300 for 5 dishes which was quite expensive even to Hong kong standard. One thing good to command was the service, it's attentive yet unintrusive. If the food was better this could be a go to restaurant.More
One of the eatery for true honest Cantonese cuisine. If you have time try to order the "Home style rice fed duck". It has to be ordered one day in advance. The other favorite of mine is the lemon sauce chicken. Dim sum is above...average as well.More
You probably would be able to find quite a lot of traditional dishes that are no longer available in most restaurants. The food tastes good especially barbecue stuff. You better pre-order as they are easily sold out especially during lunch hour on weekdays.
5 of us from Singapore met for dinner on 29 Jan 2019 and one of our friend's chose this place as it was one of his favorite places when he was working in HK some years back. We had soup, fried rice, vegetable, a grilled...fish that was done like char-siew (or ala tandoori style) which was reddish. It was then de-boned and served. We had roast chicken and finally egg white with shredded crab meat (which was really good). The most interesting dishes were the grilled fish and egg white with crab meat. It was a week night and the restaurant was quite crowded and the service staff helped us get a table which is right inside at the corner which is quieter and more conducive to talk. Service was friendly and attentive, the usual HK style. Our friend shared with us that the restaurant is really a very "old established name" (with many decades of history) and there were many black and white photos framed and displayed near the wall where we sat that indicated the early days of old. Its also well known for its dim sum as well. I think I would like to come back with either my family or friends to try on my next visit to HK.More
The food surpassed our expectation, stand outs were Roast Duck and BBQ Pork, portions were decent. Service was good with personality. Definitely would go back next time in HK.
I have been to Yixin a few times over the years, always delivers on quality dim sum a must have is the char siu pork and there are plenty of dishes for the more adventurous. The restaurant is more than 60 years old but has...moved around a few times during that time. Conveniently located and can reached easily by tram. a little on the expensive side but that is Hong Kong for you, grats on the Michelin star for 2018More
A long history Cantonese restaurant used to be favorite by gourmets, but those days were long gone. Now food being served here is pretty average but expensive. Totally not worth the money.
We passed by all the time and finally decided to give it a go. Surprisingly all the dishes we ordered are pretty good and we will definitely go back again.
