Supposedly a Michelin guide restaurant so we went in to try their sets and ordered additional dishes with fresh seafood picked from tanks. First two dishes, the lobster and abalone came quickly but after that, it took an hour for each dish to come up....With one dish served to next table then the server took it back and just moved it to our table. Given it’s covid period, we objected and she begrudgingly took it away but I am sure they just did a simple tossed and brought it back. It was a terrible experience and similar experience for several of the other tables. I would never visit this place again and not recommend this place to anyone.More

Went for the dim sum. Best in sai Kung for dim sum. The food was fresh and tasty. It’s a typical no frills dim sum place, quick in and out and with the customary rude hk service. We asked the lady for chilli sauce and...she just said ‘no’ and walked off. Don’t know what hk people have against giving you sauce when you ask lol. The menu was not in English but after a while trying to order in canto they brought a picture one. It gets very busy be prepared to get a ticket and wait but the restaurant is absolutely massive so you won’t have to wait for long. Good food, good price - will go again next time we’re in sai KungMore

One of the larger sea food restaurants in Sai Kung. Lot of choices, and the food is reasonably good if you know what to order. Cheap set meals available in the midst of a depressed market, but quality of seafood will not be the best...of course. Selecting fresh seafood offers much better fare but it can get expensive. Need to know what you are doing as sometimes they pressure you to take the more expensive stuff. During the pandemic, I am happy to say that bathroom hygiene has improved significantly. We went early in the evening and was able to get a table on a small balcony overseeing the sea (on the 2nd floor), which was nice since we got an unobstructed view of the harbor. We ordered Australian lobster (okay), geoduck (more expensive but excellent) and some clams. Total came to $1800 but we were stuffed. Overall a pretty good experienceMore

The choice is vast, the seafood is lovely, the service is perfect and friendly, the cook is excellent. Chuen Kee Seafood Restaurant is far away from too many pretentious Hong Kong Island restaurants. Do not come here to show off but to enjoy succulent clams...or another giant mantis shrimps in a good mood atmosphere.More

Its one of those waterfront seafood restaurants with tanks of seafood in front of the plae. Food is pricey and pretty average. Steamed fish was over cooked. Salt and pepper pissing shrimp might have been the highlight of the meal. The shrimps had plenty of...meat. Service was great. It was a midweek night and at most 90% of the restaurant was empty.More

We visited on a weekday for lunch and the restaurant was 90% full. We have ordered dim sum and also fried dishes. Some of them was pretty salty but overall are good. Prices are not cheap.

Lunch for 2 at Chuen Kee Sai Kung. I invited a Malaysia friend from Kuching to seafood lunch. The total set lunch at HKD536. The meal was excellent and service was efficient in a relaxing atmosphere. The set meal includes - big steam Pompret, baked...abalone, steam scallops with vermicelli, baked cheese lobsters (1/2 for each), vegetables and dessert. The quality of seafood were fresh, good portion make this meal a value for money and worth revisiting.More

Very pricy and very slow. Waited more than 40 minutes for only 2 dishes and the taste was just normal. And paid almost 600 for small clams and 6 razor clams. Will never be back again. It’s a tourist trap.

Churn Kee is a seafood restaurant situated on the waterfront of Sai Kung. The sea creatures are on display in large aquariums outside which sets the scene and ensures that they are fresh. The sea creatures are apparently flown in from all over, and thus...not local. At least we were told this by a local guest. We had an excellent meal with lobster, soft shell crab, mantis shrimp and calamari. Also a very good sweet and sour pork dish. Vegetables are steamed with garlic and as fresh as the seafood. It is prepared fine cuisine and not just served served. A crisp New Zealand white wine to come along. What more to ask? Please notice that some of the seafood dishes can be a little difficult to eat since they are served in the original wrapping. The ambience outside is great with a view to the harbor and a large professional service team with English speaking staff. Mostly Chinese guests. All in all highly recommended. The VFM factor is high compared to Hong Kong city center, and on an international scale.More

Something beautiful happens when you paid the freshest seafood with great cooks. That’s what you can expect to get at Chuen Kee. While there are many seafood restaurants in Sai Kung, this is one that I’ve frequented again and again. For those who prefer meat,...the roast goose here is as good as those at Chinese BBQ restaurants. The restaurant also comes with ample seats al fresco or indoors. Perfect for any occasion.More

I met up with a frined for the first time in 19 years and he chose this restaurant to visit with us and his family. It was brialliant to experience a real piece of local life with the food coming out in random order with...our hosts oredering and us not sure what to expect. I particualrly enjoyed the abalone with breadcrumbs served in the shell, and also the scallops in Soy Sauce. It was also great to see the fish in the tanks our front before we went in.More

We ate here as a party of about 20 so we didn’t make individual choices. Food came quickly and was very nicely cooked and presented. I note other reviews’ concerns about charges but nothing like that interfered with our enjoyment of the meal (although our...group leader paid so I don’t know anything about the charges).More
