One of the larger sea food restaurants in Sai Kung. Lot of choices, and the food is reasonably good if you know what to order. Cheap set meals available in the midst of a depressed market, but quality of seafood will not be the best of course. Selecting fresh seafood offers much better fare but it can get expensive. Need to know what you are doing as sometimes they pressure you to take the more expensive stuff. During the pandemic, I am happy to say that bathroom hygiene has improved significantly. We went early in the evening and was able to get a table on a small balcony overseeing the sea (on the 2nd floor), which was nice since we got an unobstructed view of the harbor. We ordered Australian lobster (okay), geoduck (more expensive but excellent) and some clams. Total came to $1800 but we were stuffed. Overall a pretty good experience

Lunch for 2 at Chuen Kee Sai Kung. I invited a Malaysia friend from Kuching to seafood lunch. The total set lunch at HKD536. The meal was excellent and service was efficient in a relaxing atmosphere. The set meal includes - big steam Pompret, baked abalone, steam scallops with vermicelli, baked cheese lobsters (1/2 for each), vegetables and dessert. The quality of seafood were fresh, good portion make this meal a value for money and worth revisiting.

Its one of those waterfront seafood restaurants with tanks of seafood in front of the plae. Food is pricey and pretty average. Steamed fish was over cooked. Salt and pepper pissing shrimp might have been the highlight of the meal. The shrimps had plenty of meat. Service was great. It was a midweek night and at most 90% of the restaurant was empty.

The choice is vast, the seafood is lovely, the service is perfect and friendly, the cook is excellent. Chuen Kee Seafood Restaurant is far away from too many pretentious Hong Kong Island restaurants. Do not come here to show off but to enjoy succulent clams or another giant mantis shrimps in a good mood atmosphere.

Supposedly a Michelin guide restaurant so we went in to try their sets and ordered additional dishes with fresh seafood picked from tanks. First two dishes, the lobster and abalone came quickly but after that, it took an hour for each dish to come up. With one dish served to next table then the server took it back and just moved it to our table. Given it’s covid period, we objected and she begrudgingly took it away but I am sure they just did a simple tossed and brought it back. It was a terrible experience and similar experience for several of the other tables. I would never visit this place again and not recommend this place to anyone.

We came here with friends to enjoy the sea shore a good food. Both goals were achieved. We got fair and friendly treatment by service staff - even good recommendations when selecting the fish by making sure that size and price are suitable our group. Service was swift and attentive. Payment by credit card (except Amex) is possible.

Possibly the worst restaurant experience I have EVER had. Doesn’t matter if the food is supposedly Michelin star when the staff are so rude. Came here for dinner and ordered the chicken and fish fried rice, chicken wings, roasted meat combination and drinks. Was VERY clear about what we wanted, after having a full conversation with the waiter about what size roasted combination was best for 2. After an hour only the rice and wings had turned up, but us being British we politely waited for an hour, asked about the drinks and the meat selection. Only got brought the drinks, and after giving it another 25 minutes we then just asked for the bill saying the combination hadn’t turned up. The waiter could not have been ruder, proclaiming that we had never ordered the combination, when I clearly had pointed it out multiple times, had a whole conversation with him about it, AND asked where it was. He did not apologise once, and in my opinion was incredibly rude mostly because we were English, no way we would’ve been treated that rudely if we spoke Cantonese/Mandarin. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I understand that orders can get messed up, but to not even apologise for essentially ruining our evening is absolutely disgusting.

Went for the dim sum. Best in sai Kung for dim sum. The food was fresh and tasty. It’s a typical no frills dim sum place, quick in and out and with the customary rude hk service. We asked the lady for chilli sauce and she just said ‘no’ and walked off. Don’t know what hk people have against giving you sauce when you ask lol. The menu was not in English but after a while trying to order in canto they brought a picture one. It gets very busy be prepared to get a ticket and wait but the restaurant is absolutely massive so you won’t have to wait for long. Good food, good price - will go again next time we’re in sai Kung

One of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Waited 2 hours for our food, asking twice in the meantime where it was, only to be told it was not coming because they had never told the kitchen. No apology after this. Staff were rude and unhelpful.

As usual the quality of the food and the cooking was absoluteley excellent! There was however less choices, both in seafood and cooking of them, compared to, many, previous experience. BUT the huge problem was the service!! Rude is not strong enough to describe it. Ordering started badly...almost preventing to order more seafood (to pack it to eat later if needed) Instead of having the 5-6 dishes (to share) coming almost together, they were coming ~one by one (less people in the kitchen...while a week day?). In decades coming to Hong Kong restaurants, it was the first time we were brought ... (totally unecessary) forks!! Shocking. The waiters were extremely rude pressing us to eat faster (removing some serving plates while they were still some seafood or (delicious) sauce). Our plates and side plates were regularly replaced as if we were not eating fast enough. Our friends, that came before to that place, were absolutely shocked too. The prices seemed much higher, but I do not remember the previous times as it was BEFORE clearly very good value for money. My decoding: The pressure from management on staff (to trim costs) seems a logical explanation to the behavior of the staff (3 of them competiting for rudeness). My question is the following: As the client turnover is obviously dropping, then that might affect the freshness of the seafood supply and trigger some corner cutting! In a seafood restaurant, the result can be serious. Conclusion: Between the extreme rudeness of the staff and the potential risk on seafood supply, we have decided to never eat at that place again.

The seafood was overcooked and the staff was rude when we told them. Wouldn’t recommend to come here for early dinner!

We visited on a weekday for lunch and the restaurant was 90% full. We have ordered dim sum and also fried dishes. Some of them was pretty salty but overall are good. Prices are not cheap.
