Met up with a friend last Sunday. Brought him to a yakitori place in TST coz I know he likes sake and the restaurant is doing a free flow sake lunch. So some skewers and sake seems like a perfect lunch! Chokaisan Junmai Daiginjo (鳥海山...純米大吟釀) This was the free flow sake that we had. It was made with Miyaminishiki brewing rice and flower yeast.Very easy to drink, soft and smooth with a mild sweetness.Perfect for a beginner like me who doesn’t drink sake often. I ended up drinking more than I usually would hv. The skewers were all pretty great too. There were a few outstanding ones like pork belly with long onion, beef tongue and Japanese oyster. We ordered two pork belly w/ long onion becoz it was gooood! Ultra tender and juicy! Scrumptious! I loved the slightly chewy texture of the beef tongue, and it wasn’t tough at all! I don’t like the ones that taste very soft and kinda mushy in a way. So the beef tongue I had that day was really up to my standard! The Japanese oyster looked plump and mouth watering! A bite into it you can feel the whole ocean burst in your mouth!   Overall, I enjoyed the lunch, there were good food and sake, and nice conversation with my friend!   (Below are the food we ordered that day) SAKEH WEEKEND LUNCH $388 + 120MIN FREE FLOW SAKE $188 Starter: Monkfish Liver Japanese Fluorescent squid w/ cheese Skewer: Asparagus wrapped w/ pork Pork belly w/ long onion x2 Chicken w/ long onion Minced chicken w/ joint soft bone Japanese Hamachi Kama +$38 Japanese Oyster +$38 Japanese eel Beef tongue +$18 Beef ribs Main Course: Hot Udon Chicken Broth Chazuke Dessert: Chocolate lemon cake Red bean mochiMore

A very stylish and hip izakaya serving a vast array of yakitori with some items not commonly served in many izakayas in Hong Kong such as chicken comb and bird lantern (which must be ordered in advance) for the more adventurous to prawn wrapped with...chicken skin and perilla. Price per stick is around $30-50hkd. They do have some requirements where you must order two per stick. Be sure to note that when ordering. They also have an extensive sake selection with staff that is very informed to provide you with an excellent suggestion. Food was seasoned perfectly and complimented the item instead of like many others who just toss a whole lot of salt and shichimi and call it seasoning. We tried a number of items but the one that stood out was the marinated jellyfish as it was crisp and refreshing and the ox tongue was soft and tender. We ended the night as we always do when in Japan with a grilled onigiri. Crisp on the outside, the rice was mixed with salmon. There was a crisp nori to wrap it in. Seating is spacious so you don't feel cramped with a couple of private rooms for group gatherings. English menu available with staff that speak English quite well. Location is a bit of a find. My tip is to go down the street from Mira Mall until you reach the corner that goes up a hill. Walk up and you will find the place in a dead end street with other izakayas. The restaurant is located up a flight of stairs but they do have an elevator available for those that need it. It's located inside the hotel next door. Another tip is to book through Openrice (a local food directory much like Yelp) where there is a coupon. Valid from Monday to Thursday, get a free Japanese oyster per person along with 12% discount.More

It was a T3 weekday, my boyfriend brought me there to try that one. It’s a new restaurant and seems to have good review. It specialises in to yakitori. We get to mix and match and order something we both like. I like this shop...as everything arent very seasoned, yakitori are usually very salty, Sakeh did it just right. Each yakitoricl cost around $30-$50, it’s very valued in terms if it’s nice classy renovations and prime location at TST. I’d recommend to try beef tongue, chicken wings, grilled cod fish and cold udon!! The lychee pork wrap was a highlight, the pork was grilled like bacon, with a juicy finishing with the lychee. The sweetness of the lychee helped to bring up the whole thing, it just goes really well. ps: there’s a complimentary japanese oyster, heard it’s for only for weekday!More

It is the fattiest part of the fish, making it naturally juicy. It is grilled until the skin is crisp and the inside is just cooked through.More

Enjoyed gathering with a friend in a traditional decorated Japanese restaurant, which is also a classic yakitori bar, with excellent grilled food and various Japanese alcohol drinks at night. We tried grilled meat and vegetables and recommended the following four best dishes. Minced chicken with...joint soft bone ($48 each), a popular skewer, my friend and I liked chicken cartilage and ordered two. The chicken cartilage was well grilled and served with fresh raw eggs. The texture of the egg and the chicken cartilage complemented each other well. Chicken broth udon ($68), a must-try item, was recommended by a friendly staff who was keen on providing constructive food recommendations. She told us the chicken soup was made with 16 chickens without MSG. The soup was so fascinating that we ended up eating all the udon and drinking all the chicken broth. Highly recommend the homemade chicken broth! The superb Japanese dessert, Mizu Shingen mochi ($68), ended our food journey to Japan. It was a transparent Japanese cake with a flower marinated by the chef, which was like a work of art. There were soybean flour and brown sugar surrounding the cake. Having the dessert with soy flour and brown sugar, we could taste the unique taste and texture of soy flour, and the brown sugar added a layer of sweetness. This dessert was worth a try in terms of its texture, taste, and appearance! Free oysters for bookings for Sundays to Thursdays through Openrice. The complimentary food was also of high quality. The oysters were so creamy and fresh, and the topping of sour and sweet mini jelly demonstrated the freshness of the oysters.More

Tucked away in the road of Observatory Court in TST, this restaurant is a stylish and modern Izakaya serving mid-high-end Japanese skewers with fresh ingredients. Passing through the entrance with the Japanese style of wooden doors and bamboo decoration, we are escorted by a warm...welcome server to the bar table. Without further ado, the server quickly displays a series of Japanese style cups for our selection as we order a small bottle of chilled sake, which is quite light and fruity in taste. Not a bad choice for pairing with skewers and saucy stuff. Starters: - The marinated jellyfish is silky smooth, totally going well with the lemon sauce, having a slightly sweet, sour and salty taste. - Japan fluorescent squid is so fresh and soft, without any overly fishy-taste and it comes with a small piece of milky and acidic cheese. Nice work and truly appetizing! Skewers: - Pork belly with Japanese welsh onion is perfectly grilled in golden brown, pork dripping oozing from the welsh onion and smoky taste that comes together. - Pork intestine looks superb and totally nailed it, as its soft grilled tissue is so easy to chew and the pork dripping glides your tongue smoothly. Oddly satisfied! - Chicken skill is well served and crispy in taste. Hardly see the chicken fat is still reserved in the skill without being overly seared. Yummy! - Grilled abalone remains tender and juicy, which perfectly greet your mouth with brisk freshness. Minced Chicken with Joined Soft Bones ( serving with Japanese egg yolk) : you can never go wrong with the finger food like this shower, which is so crunchy and strong with chicken taste, especially the sweet and salty soy sauce dip with the egg yolk really does a great work! Grilling snow crab cream mixed with sea urchin and miso on shell: Nothing can be satisfied without fulfilling the appetite of the camera, with the fantastic look of the grilled snow crab shell with the crab miso, mixed with sea urchin and snow crab, this delicacy really takes it to another level! The gooey mixture of the innards and urchin are slathered over the crunchy biscuits amazingly served. Truly exquisite and succulent!More

Enjoy a unique skewers lunch set with sake free flow!😍😍 My friend recommends me to go to this hidden gem in Tsim Sha Tsui. He said this Japanese restaurant offers a great weekend lunch with sake free flow. Arriving at the restaurant, the relaxing environment,...with soft lighting on the Japanese-style decorations and well-designed seating area, greatly impresses me a lot! The sake is served at ice 🧊and it is not just well-presented, but can keep the temperature well. The sake is indeed an excellent pairing with the skewers!🍶 🌈Starter (Two for each set)🥗 We have chosen marinated jellyfish, monkfish liver, Japan fluorescent squid with cheese as well as gome ae salad with crab meat. All look appetizing and I can’t wait to try it! I like the salad most as it is flavourful and with fresh crab meat. 🍢Skewers (Eight for each set)🍡 There are a full array of skewers in the lunch set and we are so delighted that we two people can choose a total of sixteen skewers!🥰 The lamb chop 🐑is tender, soft and juicy. It is always difficult to cook the lamb chop well but undoubtedly the chef here manages to master a fantastic skills in making the lamb chop scrumptious without too strong gamey flavour. It is good that the pork skewers 🐷come with asparagus and lychee as this makes the pork less oily and with a special fresh and juicy flavour. The beef skewers🐮 are properly cooked and seasoned, leaving a pleasant aftertaste in my mouth. Chicken gizzard is grilled well with tender texture. The chicken and eel are also not a miss! 🍘Main dish (One for each set)🍜 Grilled rice ball, with crisy outer layer but soft and sticky rice, is tasty. Hot udon, with chicken soup, is also surprisingly delicious 🍰Desserts (One for each set)🍰 Orange cake red bean mochi are not too sweety and really suitable for us. More

After a day of work, it’s time to chill and relax. Despite being in the busy Tsim Sha Tsui area, Sakeh is located at the Observatory Court, a preferred choice if you enjoy somewhere quieter so you can chit chat with your besties. The Japanese...bar has a modern deco and serves Sake with a variety of skewers to pair the wine with. It is so kind for the restaurant sent us a bottle of complimentary sake, perfectly chilled, that goes so well with the food. The beef tongue centre cut is so tender and juicy with a bit of charred flavour. The prawn wrapped with chicken skin & perilla (shizo) is also amazing, with a crispy texture from the grilled chicken skin and mild fragrance coming from the perilla (shizo). The minced chicken with soft bones is a signature homemade dish where you can dip it in the egg yolk for enhanced flavour. The pork intestine may sound a bit exotic but it is certainly tasty. You can also order some vegetables to balance out your meal, sweetcorn and sweet potatoes are perfect choice for skewers. There are also chazuke or udon if you would like some rice or noodles to complete your meal. Overall the environment is comfortable and spacious, it doesn’t matter whether you come in pairs or as a group of friends. The staff are nice and helpful and are able to address your requests as soon as they can.More

Had a chance to enjoy a Japanese skewers night. First of all, we ordered two cold beer made in Hong Kong named "Moonzen Brewery", it's so refreshing eating skewers with nice cool beer. Seldom have seafood in a skewer shop , we ordered a razor...clam and japanese miso crab meat with uni paste. The razor was fresh and sweet with the ocean breeze smell, the meat is soft, I like they cooked it with garlic. First time for me to eat the crab paste with uni  it's quite special as both of them are strong in taste but I prefer eating them separately. For meat, we ordered lychee wrapped with pork and the lamb chop. Very strong taste of lychee from the pork skewer which is good, the lychee juice mixes with the pork juice, very juicy and it makes a good balance. For the lamb, cooked just right, pink colour inside with crispy texture, soft but gamey. Lastly, after all the heavy feeling from the meat, we ordered a chicken broth chazuke, which give us a rich yet clear and gentle taste to wrap up the night.More
