There are a handful of good Indian restaurants in the buildings that line Prat Avenue in TST including Carat Fine Indian & Mediterranean Cuisine, which is located on the 4/F of the Winfield Commercial Building. Enter ground level lobby and use the lift to go...up to the restaurant. Opening hours are 12pm to 11pm daily. They have a large indoor seating area and balcony outdoor tables as well. Menu is a typical range of Indian favourites, prices are reasonable and service as timely as can be expected. We have had really good luck with Carat this year. Our recent take-away meal was outstanding. Lamb biryani was a delight, rice seasoned beautifully, generous portion of lamb that was succulent and flavourful. The dish was so aromatic as well, just a great biryani. The chicken tikka masala was also very good. Curry was richly flavoured but not overpowering spiciness, again a generous portion of bbq chicken. We were also impressed with the cocktail samosa, a serving of 4 medium sized pieces, nicely fried, not oily nor dry. The filling was a tasty blend of potato, cumin and other ingredients. Usually prefer to dine in but had to do take-away for this particular meal. Was pleasantly surprised how good everything tasted once we were able to eat at home later in the evening. Looking forward to our next Carat (TST) meal as a result. Note that they offer delivery in this area of TST as well.More

This is a lovely Indian restaurant tucked away in a very busy part of town. The menu is quite extensive and cocktails interesting. The food flavours were wonderful. There are a large selection of small and large plate meals but very little difference in price...between the two. We ordered lamb rogan josh and Goa fish curry, these were large plates, both were really delicious, but the portions could not be described as large. We would not have wanted anything smaller. It is on the pricey side but overall a good experience and I wound visit again and I would recommendMore

Arguably the best Indian restaurant in HK. Unpretentious, but the food is just amazing. Btw I’m Indian and a pretty decent cook of curries. We ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh and a Goa Fish Curry which was sublime. My wife and I shared this meal...with a buttered naan, probably the best naan I’ve ever had.More

Outstanding food. As a lover of curries I didn’t think I’d find such a gem in Hong Kong. My partner and I shared the Lamb and the Goa Fish curry. Both score an 11/10. The Butter Naan, the NAAN! Sublime. This is right up there...with my best ever meals.More

I had dinner with my teen ager son, and the atmosphere, service and quality of food and overall value deserve 5 stars. I had lunch in another fine-dining-Indian restaurant in HK earlier this week, and I payed more than double there, and the food wasn’t...any better there either. We had for starters at Carat; Cocktail Samosa and Mirch ke Pakode, and for the main course Rogan Josh and “Carat” Butter Chicken. All tasty. The house Pinoit Noir went well with the food.More

When we eventually found the restaurant (it’s not street level, it’s higher up and barely signed!) we were initially reserved… however skip forward 20minutes and with two of their signature cocktails in hand we were becoming more and more impressed. We opted for a table...outside as it was a balmy night… good choice! After spending some time trying to choose from the array of yummy sounding food we opted for the chefs choice platter to start with… our tastebuds were in a world of loveliness with a good background heat! Mains were murgh maratha (well spiced chicken curryj, goan fish curry, lasooni dal tadka (yellow lentils) and a specially ordered garlic an chilli naan ….. we were in Indian heaven! The naan was so good we ordered another, light crispy buttery garlicky and with the perfect amount of chillies! I cannot recommend this little hidden gem of a place enough! We loved so much we are going back on our last night in Hong Kong! Thank youMore

We booked a table for 3 for early dinner, but we arrived before the restaurant even opened for dinner. Nevertheless, the operator was very welcoming and seated us on the terrace with a heat lamp with the option of moving indoor when they finished setting...up. The decor was simple but beautiful. The little “hut” sofa was a favorite for our tween. So we dined alfresco. We ordered our Indian favorites: chicken tandoori, butter chicken, palak paneer, lamb rojanjosh, butter naan and garlic naan, plus the Mediterranean dip platter. The server brought us extra yogurt when she learned that the tandoori was too spicy for us. The service absolutely fabulous. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The only surprise was the price of the mango lassi which were about USD8-9 each. Other Indian restaurants in the area normally charge about USD4-5. But CARAT did have a full bar and played fun 80s music. If non-alcoholic drinks could be included in the happy hours special offer. that would be perfect. Overall, with the obvious over ordering on our part, the bill came to about USD120 including the usual 10% surcharge. We will certainly return and recommend to our friends. Thank you for a very lovely dinning experience.More

We celebrated our brother’s wedding party on the terrace. There were 45 around us and we fit comfortably and very cozy outside. The food was excellent. Everything loved the live counter for pani puri and pav baji. The drinks were great especially mango lassi and...virgin mojito and for alcohol we did byob. The servers were very helpful. I like the atmosphere on the terrace with those beautiful festive lights and canopy with led lights. I would highly recommend to anyone planning the party or get-together with family or friends. Finally my mum and I recovered from Covid 19. It’s time to eat out to celebrate after a week of isolation. My mum wanted to go to an Indian restaurant but she didn’t feel like visiting Chung King Mansion, where many Indian restaurants are located....In the end I found this decent and cozy restaurant located at Hart Avenue in another side of Tsim Sha Tsui. The restaurant was truly a hidden gem which is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant is different from the Indian restaurants I’ve been in Hong Kong. Carat is elegantly decorated with a very pleasant ambiance and soothing vibe. The interior design oozes class and style. I’m particularly impressed by the very beautiful outdoor area which is like a secret garden, a cool place where you can chillax after a day of hard work. The food was simply delicious. Old Delhi chaat platter was a real delight. We could try three different signature and classic Indian snacks in one go. The chaat was topped with sev (crunchy noodles) which created more texture. We liked the exotic and appetising flavour of tamarind and mint chutney and yogurt. The platter was authentic and presented well. Goan fish curry tasted great too. It is a delicacy from Goa, a state along the coastline in Western India. Cooked with coconut milk, the curry was creamy and the sole fillets had a sweet and delicate flavour. The curry wouldn’t have been perfect without naan. We ordered sunhari lachha naan which was topped with saffron, poppy seeds and almonds. The chewy texture was lovely. Lassi is a yogurt-based drink one must try in an Indian restaurant. The mango lassi here was scrumptious, sweet and sour at the same time. The mango flavour was very rich and I especially loved the creamy and smooth texture. Last but not least the service was impeccable. Once we entered the restaurant the host welcomed us enthusiastically with a big smile. The waiter was prompt and attentive. He checked on us frequently, asking whether we enjoyed our meals or if we needed anything. They took great care of customers’ needs and helped create an exceptional dining experience for every diner. We had a wonderful evening in Carat.More

Tsim Sha Tsui has witnessed a blossoming of Indian restaurants. With an emerging South Asian community, the area has surprisingly few quality dining venues. Carat, hidden in a commercial building, is a satisfying option for all. Interior is cozy and spacious. Food is the authentic...fare with heart. Paneer tikka is a rich starter. Seekh kebab is juicy and aromatic. Lamb biryani is a hearty choice. Lucknow mutton curry is creamy and flavorful. Portion is more generous than many other Indian places. Service is polite. Price is quite reasonable.More

Carat Indian Fine food 09/06 There is times when my taste buds got bored with asian foods, and I like to search for some spicier and rich in taste food like Indian dishes. I 've found this Indian food restaurant, it does not only have...Indian dishes but also Mediterranean dishes, more options for those that don't want to eat only spicy dishes. Palak Patta Chaat - a crunching Indian tortillas, filled with an abundant of fresh spinach leaves, gram flour and white peas, mint and tamarind sauce at the top. It is a bit spicy but the taste is good, the sauce rich in taste with mint and some pomegranate juice that match very well. Mezze Hot Platter: Stuffed grape leaves with rice - it is abit sour and sweet, the rice is a bit chewy. Lebanese Kebbeh - it is a spiced meat with grain and onion merged together. Soft and spicy, softer than a meat ball. Yoghurt dip on mushrooms - a simple mushroom with yoghurt. Classic stuffed eggplant - soft and juicy eggplant Crispy filo sheet with mixed vegetables - is like a curry puff but instead of curry it is filled with mixed vegetables In the centre of the platter, there is a red spicy sauce, can dip with it. Overall is not bad. "Carat" Butter chicken - is a roasted boneless chicken in a tomato butter gravy, the gravy was a bit thick, and not too spicy. The chicken is juicy, and soft. It was just a perfect match with the numerous option of different naans that can select from the menu. Garlic Naan - a really really crispy and strong garlic taste naan, i really like this one. Sunhari lachha naan - its have small crunched saffron, poppy seeds and almonds on the top, this one is a soft and chewy naan. This is a nice place to hangout, its comfortable and spacious, and able to get some to traditional Indian food.More

looking forward to next time!

🍴乳酪番紅花薄荷羊肉香飯 $158 「Gosht Biryani @mughlai dish made with New...Zealand mutton, basmati rice, yogurt and onions, flavoured with mint and saffron, served with mirchi ka salan」以上呢一個菜式我見每一台都有點,好似係呢一間舖頭嘅招牌咁。 More
