Wrong dates on the wines on the wine list to what was in stock Steak Frites - dry, tough, sinewy piece of hanger steak Worst part - dirty glasses are washed with water from a kettle at the bar and then returned to the shelves...for future customer use - unbelievably unhygienic The staff on duty, however, were tremendous Management of S&S needs to pull it’s finger out. Most certainly did not warrant a fine dining experience or anything near itMore

Good restaurant, good atmosphere and good quality. It is a pity that the menu doesn’t have a Chinese version, as Cantonese is the first language of Hong Kong.

What a pleasant surprise to finally get some good classic French food in a cozy bistro that can fill you with memories of dining in France. I like the casual decor, beautiful chic music, good service and delicious food. The bistro is quite easy to...find. Take the outdoor escalator in Central and get off as it reaches Elgin Street. We visited on a Sunday and they were serving brunch sets of either 2 or 3 courses. We ordered escargots, mussels, a steak & creme brûlée. All the food is excellent. The only thing to be aware is that the bistro is small and tables can be pretty close to each other. Also, they don’t serve French coffee.More

Yet another lovely meal at this classic French restaurant in the Soho area. Normally we have a few favourites which we stick to but we decided to try new dishes this time. Instead of starting with our usual charcuterie board, we tried the Camembert de...Campagne, small rounds of camembert cheese baked on slice of toasted baguette lightly dressed salad of rocket and tomatoes ($148HKD). Absolutely delicious. The tenderloin is hard to go past but this time we ordered the Bouillabaisse Provençale and Boeuf Bourguignon for mains. The bouillabaisse fish stew had tiger prawns, mussels, fish and crab ($278). This makes it sound like a large dish, swimming in seafood but it is much smaller than it sounds. There were only 2 mussels and I think just one prawn (although it could have been two). This was a surprise because all the other dishes are very generous serves. I probably wouldn’t order this again. However the Boeuf Bourguignon was beautiful ($278). Tender Black Angus beef, red wine and small chunks of salty bacon - so good. As in previous visits, the service was welcoming and attentive and the small, cosy space makes it a nice place for couples. Will be back.More

I booked lunch at Bouchon Bistro Français on a Saturday mainly because it’s very close to the gym where I’d go for my workout. I took 3 courses. Onion soup was quite good but there’s nothing special about it. Pan seared sea bass tasted rather...bland although the skin was crispy. Pecan pie was just ok. The price was low and the service friendly. Since the food was only average on the whole, I won’t hurry to visit this restaurant again.More

Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect but Bouchon turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The food was good and the French bread definitely passed the test. The price was affordable and the staffs were friendly especially given the limited space that they had....Nonetheless, the restaurant was just way too crowded even knowing that it is a Bistro. Given that they have to agree upon to certain Covid-19 rules now, I can't imagine what it likes before Covid. Since we had a decent party, we tried out various starters and main courses. I love my Bouillabaisse Provençale, which is a classic seafood stew. The fact that they remembered the side toast with bearnaise sauce shows me that this restaurant is sticking with classic. The Escargots were good and I like the Beef tartare, which the table shared. In conclusion, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants some classic French dish. However, please note that it is not for a large party and you need to make reservation. A small party will result in a better dining experience. They have an outdoor section but the weather is just too hot for now. In winter, it will certainly be nice.More

Bouchon Bistro Français is a rather popular French bouchon in the very busy Soho area. The small restaurant is clean, but the lighting is a bit dark. Servers are friendly and efficient. Guests are only allowed a 90-minute dining time. Food is reasonably priced and...of good quality. Highly recommend the flavorful Escargots de Bourgogne (HK$ 98/half dozen; HK$ 178/dozen) and the Tartare de Filet de Boeuf (HK$ 268 for 230g). Just stay away from the unimpressive Crème Brûlée (HK$ 78).More

We were very pleased to be able to return to Bouchon for dinner now that covid-19 restrictions have been eased and restaurants are able to open until 10pm. The menu is classic French and the food is excellent. We started with the generous charcuterie board...which was big enough for the two of us to share easily. I had the rack of lamb which was served with spinach and potato. The lamb was absolutely delicious – tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The spinach and potato, whilst lovely, were small servings and it would have been nice to have had a little more veg. Overall, this is a charming restaurant. The service is welcoming and attentive. The space is quite small but feels cosy and intimate, making it a particularly nice spot for couples or a ‘special’ meal. It's located in the heart of the Soho area and is easy to get to using the Mid-Levels escalator. NOTE: On Monday nights they offer a special deal of 2-for-1 main meals.More

Was our first visit to Bouchon. When the restaurant confirmed the booking we were advised that we would have the table for 1.5 hrs. Since there were just 2 of us it wasn't a problem. However, if we were dining with another couple we would...find this problematic. Corkage is $250./bottle which I found to be a bit excessive and therefore we opted to sample from their wines instead. Found the bench seat to be quite uncomfortable (a bit too low for the table and was also rather cramped with table placement). Starters were very tasty - French onion soup and tasting of foie gras (pan seared and terrine). We ordered mains of Beef bourguignon and 500 gr. blue mussels. The beef was wonderfully tender and flavorful. The mussels were good but a bit underseasoned and could have done with some more butter to finish the broth. Disappointed that 2 of the 16 were closed. We had plenty of food so really not an issue but would expect that the closed mussels would not have been served. The skinny fries served on the side with the mussels were delicious. Actually enjoyed the ability to try various wines (French of course) by the glass. All in all, a great meal. A few easy modifications would have made it exceptional.More

My colleague brought me to this French cuisine in SOHO a few weeks ago for lunch. It's a small shop and not very eye catching but it is totally a hidden gem! They have great set lunch deals that is under $150 and the quality...of food is well worth the price. Bread - it was hot and fresh off the oven, so good that I finished it before snapping a photo of it. Steak frites - the steak was super tender and juicy and way better than those from famous steakhouses. Crab cake - size was just right and not very greasy, good that it came with some fresh veggies Last but not least, the staff were friendly and made the whole dining experience enjoyable.More

Super Mondays brings two-for-one on main meals which makes this a great value place for dinner. Their steaks are tender and beautifully cooked, fries are perhaps the best I’ve had - ever. Cleanly fried in fresh oil - this is obvious. And at HKD$70 for...a reasonable quality glass of wine to wash it all down, you will struggle to find a better steak frites deal in Hong Kong. Service attentive and fast. Salad, complementary baguette and butter, two servings steak frites, a glass of wine, on a Monday for less than HKD$520. Incl service charge. Excellent.More
