I went there with a few friends for some drinks, the location and view is nice. Would not advice the pizza which is mainly a crepe with toppings, but the snacks are nice and especially the fries (thick and crispy). It is a good place...to stop by and change from sohoMore
Saw a poster within the actual pier for the cafe, but it was hard to find. Eventually we found it to the left and up the stairs. The bar was very pleasant, with unlimited free bar snacks and a good range of affordable drinks and...light meals. The waiting staff are very pleasant, and out on the rear balcony there is a good view of the skyscrapers on the main island. However, there was a smell of diesel coming from the constantly arriving and departing ferries meaning that often the food was ruined due to a horrible smell. A brilliant place let down due to something that is through no fault of its own. It is a shame about the smell, but it is still a place worth visiting if you are around Central.More
We had time to kill before taking the ferry and were craving some 'American' food - Pier 7 Cafe and Bar was just perfect. Stuffed potato skins and margarita pizza were just the tickets for a group starved for food we recognized and could pronounce!...Service was excellent, comfortable surroundings. Not putting down the food we had while visiting countries in Asia - but the break was perfect.More
Absolutely wonderful place with a great view to the skyline even though only in one direction. But strange service. No tables were setup outside and I had to prepare it myself. I ordered a pizza which was the only real food after 7 or 8...pm. It was NOT a pizza but a tortilla with ketchup, cheese and 5 slices of pepperoni. But the view made up for the loss of real food I have to say.More
It was a Saturday night about 9pm when we visited he bar so you would expect it to be busy, however the bar was completely empty, cold and dark. The outside area had the tables and chairs folded away but were put out upon request....There are no toilets in the bar so had to go down 3 flights of stairs to use toilets in a different restaurant. The drinks were nice and reasonably priced.More
Awesome view of Kowloon and Hong Kong island, friendly staff, good food menu. Its a public area so you can't smoke here.
Went there for happy hour and this place has no service at all. We had to find ourselves a table on the terrace and buying drinks are also self service. The few Filipino staff there have poor attitude and very indifferent. The indoor restaurant looks...more like a canteen and has no ambience whatsoever, even Starbucks looks better! There was a large group of Filipino patrons around 20 pax sitting outside with music (thank God it wasn't too loud). We saw a waiter bringing food from downstairs, probably from the Watermark Restaurants which belongs to the same group (Cafe Deco) I guess. A bottle of (decent) New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc costs $420 with so service charge (quite rightly as there was no service). The terrace does not have any harbour view except overlooking the tall buildings behind but it is still very nice. This is the only selling point for this place and I would not dine here even if it's free. Better to go across the road to the outdoor terrace in IFC for drinks in the future. A pity that Cafe Deco group manages so poorly for this place which has so much potential. When we left at 7:00pm there was not one single soul dining in the restaurant which says it all for a Sunday evening in HK.More
The location is good and the decoration is not too bad either. It's got a nice open space from which to watch the views. Unfortunately, not only are the drinks expensive and tasteless, but the waiter also tried to cheat us!! He purposely kept 50HK$...to himself from the change in the hope that we wouldn't notice. From the way he behaved it seemed as if he didn't want the other waiters/boss to notice the situation, but it is just disgraceful. I would've expected more from the place, but with staff like that there's no way I'm coming back!More
Ok, I admit I was at the wrong place, but in the end we agreed it was a good spot as easier to get to Pier 6 than the other place. Enjoyed a few cold beers and glasses of win while waiting for later ferry...and catching up with friends. Quiet and comfortable, nice breeze through the doors. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Good spot for a quiet one if you want to get a later ferry or chill a bit.More
The cafe is situated above the ferry departure point but caters for locals and tourists alike. Certainly not over-priced, clean toilets.
When walking around Hong Kong Island we had to go for a wander past the piers that service the many jetties. We decided to give Pier 7 a try as it mentioned the viewing deck but it was behind a large structure so you could...only look back along the piers or towards the shopping center and buildings on the island. I would have liked to be able to look over towards the mainland, especially at night when all the lights were on. The food here was pretty good, but not cheap, nor were the drinks. A huge plus though is they are very honest here! I left my jumper behind accidentally and when I remembered the next day i thought there was no way it would still be there. I had to ask a few of the staff on at the time as not everyone understood what I was asking but they had it and I couldn't have been happier - so they get bonus points for this!More
We went here for a lunchtime snack once we had got off the ferry at pier 7. The attraction to us was that it had a terrace which had some sunshine and we couldn't find anywhere else that had one. There was only one person...doing everything at the bar. She was serving drinks, taking orders and standing at the till to take payment for people going to the buffet. She was nice enough but could clearly have done with some support. The buffet looked quite good and was reasonably priced but as the only meat served on a Tuesday was lamb (which we don't eat) we thought we would get something else. The snacks menu isn't available until 3pm so the only option left for us was a pizza. What a terrible mistake. It was very expensive ($138 HK) and was basically a very very thin piece of bread with the toppings all thrown together and piled in the middle on the top. To make it worse it was cold. An expensive mistake for us. There are lots of much nicer places around so don't go here thinking it's the only outdoor spot like we did.More
This was a nice restaurant at the top of Pier 7, where the Star Ferry docks. It served some yummy pizza and they had some decent beer on tap. Prices were also reasonable given the high profile location.
This modern, uncluttered cafe and bar on the top level of the Star Ferry Pier is surprisingly quiet and relaxing in the midst of the hustles and bustles of Central. Came with friends for Happy Hours on a Friday. The drinks were good and fairly...priced. The free spread of chips, cheeses etc delicious. We lingered through the long Happy Hours enjoying conversation which could be heard at normal decibels. The weekend brunch and regular lunch menus look good. The dinner menu is a bit limited. Although this is at the pier, the view from the deck is back towards the downtown buildings and not out to the harbor. If you need a rest or a drink while taking the Star Ferry, this is a good placeMore
