Pricing is slightly more expensive than the bigger pizza chains; toppings are great but the base wasn’t. Maybe because I was expecting a normal thick-ish base, but it came in thin n soggy. Paid HKD $188 for a pepperoni pizza 13”.
Couldn’t dine in because of the Covid restaurant ban, so by the time we got home, the pizza was all cold. Service was great though!

Pizzas were amazing! Garlic bread was nicely made also, with lots of garlic flavours, and its portion was quite big. Pasta was kinda normal, but not bad.
For 5 of us, we ordered 1 13” pizza, 2 pasta and 1 garlic bread. We couldn’t even finish all dishes!

Mother of Pizzas has been around for probably 7 years now in the Causeway Bay district serving up really good pizza that is best described as a hybrid Neapolitan X NYC thin crust. They have quite a few other menu items but patrons mostly come here for the pizza which you can buy as 13 or 18 inch slices or by the slice. Opening hours are 11.30am to 9.30pm daily. They can get fairly busy during peak dining periods so consider reservation if you are wanting to bring a group or family here.
There are a fair selection of toppings and you can order half/half as well. They also have a few large size pizzas in the window from which you can order by the slice (take-away) I've done this a couple times this summer. Order directly with the host/hostess. The slices are HK$50, they are heated, paper plated, bagged and served to you in just a few minutes. The pepperoni slice is really, really good.
In all honestly, the pizza from Mothers isn't ideal for eating as take-away slice. Like NYC style pizza, the slices are large, good portion size. Unfortunately, like a proper Neapolitan style pizza, the centres are soft, wet and collapse easily at the end when you try to fold your slice to eat. You really need a knife and fork to eat the pizza centre portion of the slice properly. Otherwise, the crust end folds up just fine.
Now the good news is that the pepperoni slices are really good. the marinara sauce is savoury, great seasoning and flavour, cheese quality good, a bit of basil, minced garlic and plenty of pepperoni slices. Crust is chewy and airy on the outside, soft, wet in the centre. It is a good pizza slice taste wise, even if a bit challenging to eat while walking around the streets of Causeway Bay. Every time I pass by, i'm tempted to grab one. Really can't say that about many other places around the city that offer pizza by the slice.

We heard a lot of good comments about this Mother of Pizza so our family decided to try them out.
I have to say, the quality of the ingredients is really good. It is actually much better than anywhere I ordered from Hong Kong so far.
But why I gave them 2/5 is because the pizza was cold when it arrived and the rim of the Pizza was all burned. I am talking about black colour burned spots all over the pizza rim.
I called the restaurant right away to complain about the burned rim. A manager called Sam, he told me this is the way their pizza is baked. He even questioned my knowledge about pizza??!!??
I grew up in NorthAmerica and I travelled to Italy before, I can 100% sure, I have not come across any restaurant which their burned rim pizza is a style???!!!!!!!!!!
food items which are burned into charcoal black are totally "CANCEROGENIC"
I cross-checked different photos displayed on the Open rice and deliveroo website from Mother of Pizza and non of them showed burned to that degree of black.
The worst thing is, when I complained about the cold temperature of the pizza, Sam wrote back to me to say if I want hot pizza you should dine in!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, what an attitude !!
We are in Hong Kong, there is no such thing as "ONE" and only restaurant here. There is always competitors in any style of restaurant and there are always options.
As good as the ingredients of Mother's Pizza, Don't think I will order again.

Dismal staff. Stood at the door for 5 minutes while getting no eye contact, no greeting and no service. I was a party of four so not a small number to lose. it seems no one in here cares about customers.
Staff milling about seemingly doing nothing, Uninspiring dark and shabby decor, dirty and badly organised. I am so happy I chose to turn and leave. After reading reviews on the food I am double glad. I won't be back.
The only reason there are queues outside this place from time to time is that they give away slices of free pizza - must be a lot of dog lovers in the area then...

My partner and I recently came to try the pizza as she is from Vancouver and was curious about the owner's Vancouver connection, and the decor inside the restaurant. It made her feel close to home even before we sat down. We decided on the half / half option pizza with 'Summer of 1967' and 'Rocketeer' and both were Excellent with a capital E. The ingredients tasted primo, fresh, and full of flavour. "Summer of 1967' was truly out of this world and easily the best slice of pizza I have had in Hong Kong, and one of the best slices ever ... and I'm from New York City! Just loved the chilli-infused honey they use, so delicious. Special shout out to SAM on staff there who was super friendly and made our experience extra special ... thanks Sam! Will definitely be revisiting this place in the near future.

Finally had the chance to visit this pizza joint and it has become one of my favorites in town (one of, the top spot goes to another joint and you know which one 😏).
My wife and I didn’t order a whole pizza instead we’ve ordered a slice of the meat de cavemen and summer of love 1967; both have the crispy crust and it was soft and hot inside plus a generous portion of toppings. The pizza definitely live up to its hype and I can understand why people love this place so much. In contrast, the meatballs bolognese was a bit dry and bland but I’d come back for their pizza.

Very decent place for a quick meal at reasonable quality. I had spaghetti carbonara (HK$ 168) which came within 10 minutes after ordering. Spaghetti were al dente, the whole dish tasted very well. Pizzas at neighbouring tables looked very nice and range between HK$ 198 (Margeritha) and HK$ 300+. Service was, quick, friendly. Kitchen is open ans looks clean. Credit cards except Amex are accepted.

Mother of pizzas was the mother of bad attitude. At 6pm, half empty, we were made to wait while the other room with 10 tables had 5 staff sleeping, taking up 5 tables. Front girl raised her voice when asked. “Can you just wait?!! They’re tired from the lunch service!!” she yelled. Then they put us right next to the door, instead of giving a table nest to that or in the half empty restaurant in the back. When asked, the attitude and yelling came again. The place looked dirty, and the pizzas looked plain and unappetizing. Adding the attitude makes the pizzas inedible. The problem? They think it’s ok to keep customers waiting while staff occupy half the restaurant sleeping in the open, and when asked they think it’s ok to yell at the customers. Why would anyone reward that by eating there?

This is a rather popular restaurant at the moment, with queues outside, no reservations, and a 75 minute "table limit" rule.
Six of us decided to order two large half and half pizzas: "half Holland Spicy / half Queen Margharita" and "half Rocketeer / half Beautiful Chick". (This was too much food for 6)
The pizzas came after about 25 minutes, leaving us 50 minutes to eat them (I really hate time-limited tables and wouldn't have gone if I had known in advance). They are served on platters with holes in them sitting on a raised rack. I assume the reason for this is to try to make, or keep, the base crispy, but in this they fail completely. As noted in an earlier review the edge of the bases are beyond "crispy" and well into burnt territory. But primarily because the pizzas are so ludicrously overloaded with toppings the central part of the base is far from crispy and the whole thing rapidly degenerates into a soggy mess. These are not pizzas where you can pick up a slice with one hand - even with two it's hard because of the topping overload and the collapsing base.
The most successful of the pizzas was the simplest - the margharita - but even this was soggy. The Rocketeer had an absurd amount of rocket and cherry tomatoes on top. The Beautiful Chick has a sickly sweet pseudo-mayonnaise topping (presumably catering to local HK palates which go for that sort of thing). And the Holland Spicy was a moderately spicy pizza which might have been OK except that it had a whole jar of sliced pickled jalapeno peppers piled on top of it (really - probably a dozen pieces on each of the 12 slices). This demonstrated totally lack of understanding on the part of the chef as to how to make balanced spicy food.
About the only thing going for this restaurant is that calories per dollar is quite high if that's important, but don't come here expecting pizzas as the term is understood in either Naples or New York (the two places from which the resaurant claims to draw inspiration).

I ordered through an app, when I get there 15 minutes later, they told me they cancelled it. As it turns out, they don't want to honor the 20% off the app promotes... So they scam you by getting there, where you'll probably order again and pay the original price.
While I was awaiting my order, I mentioned to the store that this is not a good practice they're running, the staff said nothing but within a minute, he walked into the kitchen (it was on open kitchen), talked to the pizza maker (who turned and looked at me) and headed back out.
I was waiting next to the open glass area where the pizza maker continued to check me out every few minutes (it was a bit weird), then he just came out, randomly grab some previously ordered pizza and said my order is ready.
It was weird because he didn't look at any receipt and he didn't ask what I ordered...
When I got home, my 74 year old mom took one bite, couldn't spit it out fast enough, almost in tears... teared it apart and took a picture.... and suddenly the whole scenery made sense.
perhaps the owner of the store was there (a white dude sitting on the first table with a plate and red wine), who totally ignored me when I was pointing out my dissatisfactory after I had to place an order again and waiting...

We dined in on Friday night (before the restaurant ban started in Hong Kong) - the music in the queue keeps you on your toes - excellent pizza and very friendly staff - we got a takeout on Wednesday (after the dine-in ban) and we were given free drinks- thanks! It is very tough for restaurants and hotels - please support Mother of Pizzas!

Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
