I’d dinner at Crystal Jade Jiang Nan about half a year ago and had problems with some dishes.
I’d dinner there again tonight and to my delight the food had improved.
While the siu long bao were great as usual, all other dishes were good too. I particularly liked my dessert of sweet walnut cream with lotus seeds. It wasn’t too sweet and had a strong taste of fresh walnut and the lotus seeds were crunchy.
The service was attentive and fast.

We had a good dinner at the restaurant. Food and service is good.
Crystal Jade is owned by a Singaporean. Crystal Jade is easy/ fast food place. Crystal Jade Jiang Nan is a fine dining, Shanghaiese cuisine.
The food is different from Cantonese cuisine. Typical Shanghainese food is oily to keep the people in that area warm since it's much colder than in Hong Kong. My friends are Shanghainese living in Hong Kong so they informed the kitchen to make the food less oily eg. fried noodle.
Pig's feet tendon and spareribs are good. Shanghai tofu with pea and fish are good.
Sichuan noodle is interesting, take the noodle out from the water then mix with the sauce. It's VERY spicy but yummy.

I love spicy noodles and wanted tohave some for lunch today. We have gone to Crystal Jade for a number of years and always walked away wondering how Management manages to turn a decent food experience into something disappointing.
Previously, the service was always trying to take your dishes away even when not finished. Sometimes i had to snap at them to not stick their hands in front of my face when I am eating. And previously, the starters had very rigid rules to stay customers that was nothing but mystifying. This time they now have an ordering app that makes it much more difficult and time consuming to order what you want. Why can't we just tell the server what we want?
There was no greeter at the front and with the reduced service, the restaurant still had the audacity to charge a 10% service charge. So, we have to pay urge same amount for services that are no longer offered.
Additionally, the spicy noodles lacked an adequate amount of meat.
Obviously, restaurants are struggling due to the silly rules imposed by the ridiculous government here in the past few years, but Crystal Jade isn't really doing a good job these days.

We went to Crystal Jade tonight and we found the staff very impatient and rude and we will never go back there again. We have been going to Crystal Jade for at least five years and normally we find it very good but tonight was the worst service we've ever had in our life

This was the first restaurant I ate when I landed in Hong Kong. I was hesitant at first because the restaurant is located in a mall. Overall, I went to this restaurant twice when I was in Hong Kong so I obviously enjoyed it. You can order a variety of Chinese food ranging from XLBs to Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp. I highly recommend their dumplings and pork buns. This restaurant is very affordable and very similar to Din Tai Fung but more of a Cantonese style.

While we were touring this area, we were referred to this restaurant hidden inside a shopping plaza. It is very busy during lunch time. We were surrounded by office workforce in proper dress code.
This restaurant specializes food from northern part of China. We decided to try some cold appetizers that are not readily available in Toronto. We always love spicy sour soup and we are not disappointed.
The food was great and service was excellent. We spent over 2 hours there but still was being treated nicely. Prices are reasonable too.

During my stay in Hong Kong, I was looking for a nice and good restaurant with Chinese food. Found the Crystal Jade Jiang Nan on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. Very good choice.
The food was delicious and freshly prepared. It did not take too long and then I had everything I had ordered on my table. I had chosen some starters and a main dish. Everything was very good!
The service was quick, also when the restaurant got a bit crowdy later on the team was always checking with me, if everything is fine.
Although the restaurant is located in a mall, where you usually would not expect a good place to eat, I can recommend this one for sure.

I'd an early and quick dinner with my brother at Crystal Jade Jiang Nan this evening (a public holiday). When we arrived at the restaurant just around 18:10, there're already some customers inside.
We weren't hungry so we only ordered:
1. Mock goose
2. Yunnan ham in honey sauce with bread
3. Siu long bao
4. Turnip pastries
5. Sesame dumplings in ginger soup
All food generally tasted good. However, the Yunnan ham and the ginger soup wasn't hot enough. I don't like and try to avoid eating spring onions. Contrary to what the waitress told me when I asked her, the turnip pastries did in fact contain some little bits of spring onions.

Crystal Jade Jiang Man is a more upscale version of the numerous outlets throughout the city. This outlet has a more extensive menu with higher price point dishes like crab and rice cakes.
I've eaten at Crystal Jade a number of times and decided to order a mixture of the classics and a few new items. The Xiao long bao here is consistently good as well as the potstickers and other dumplings.
They do a cute play on the turnip pastry by making the pastry look like a carrot. They do this by dying the outside orange and using parsley for the leaf. The taste of the dish was also nice and executed well.
The best dish that I had here was the deep fried yellow croaker. This fish usually has a lot of small bones. I didn't have any issue with that this time. The fish was fried perfectly. It had a nice crisp exterior and the fish had a nice juicy texture on the inside. The crispy fried bits of garlic and onion accentuates the dish and the aromatics really shines through.
Price point isn't too high and is a little bit more expensive than an average Cantonese restaurant.
