This is a small Michelin-recommended Vietnamese eatery at a quiet corner of Wanchai. Brass Spoon only serves beef pho and some snacks. It is not open for dinner and almost impossible to get a table by noon. Seat is cramped and service minimal. The signature beef pho is quite underwhelming. Meat is tender and juicy. Rice noodle is unremarkable and the broth is mild. Price is steep. With some many sound options for pho nearby, this place can be skipped.

Understood HK ppl love queuing for everything, but Brass Spoon is just not worth it. Came here for lunch and spent >30 minutes for a seat, which is acceptable for me and the restaurant only has limited capacity (~15ppl max?).
Ordered the signature premium raw beef noodle, it tastes average to me, which I expect more with 125hkd per bowl and from Michelin-starred restaurants.

Decided to try out the original Brass Spoon for a decent bowl of pho.
It doesn’t surpass Bahn Mi which remains my top choice for Pho, but it does do a better than creditable bowl of Pho.
You get a deep tasting satisfying broth and the ingredients are fresh. To my mind you don’t get enough hor fun though. I generally try and finish the broth but after much slurping I still had a third of a bowl of broth left - so deep taste wise as well as in the bowl.
It is, however, a pricey bowl of pho. Almost double the price. That said you are paying for the Wan Chai location and you don’t have to march up Aberdeen St and that hill to get it.
Service is brisk and efficient in an eatery which seats 21. Be on time to avoid the queue!

terrible attitude of staffs. unclear notice of payment method, food is too salty
we are notified by the staff that only cash is accepted when paying, we asked if other other payment method is accepted, the staff (probably the manager) pointed at a Chinese notice and said “we have written down only cash”. I went out to look for places for cash withdrawal and my friend stayed in the restaurant, got blamed by the staff that he is standing there and limited the space available inside…
totally not friendly for foreigners, especially in Central/ HK

A little pricey as the bowl was small with just a few piece of meat. during rush hours, the restaurant is noisy so you kinda feel you are in a cha chan tan

I didn't come here for the food - I came earlier this week already - so much as the staff. I tried three other restaurants and in all of them the staff weren't wearing masks. It wouldn't usually bother me but right now, in the current COVID-19 outbreak, I want to see restaurant staff talking my health as seriously as I am asked to take theirs. Brass Spoon's staff all had masks on. The food (cold noodle salad with spring rolls - take out) was great as usual.

Loved the broth and the excellent slices of prime beef. The spring rolls was very good too. Professionally run restaurant with good services. Will definitely return when I come back to visit in the future.

Brass Spoon is a Vietnamese pho specialist with a few branches around the city including this popular joint on Moon Street in the Star Street Precinct in Wanchai. Opening hours are 12 to 7pm daily (closed on Sundays).
Simply put - this is an 18-seater noodle bar dishing out pho, vermicelli noodle bowls, spring rolls and a small selection of drinks. Service is quick, food is as good as advertised at this Bib Gourmand recognised restaurant.
No reservations accepted and there is often a queue at Brass Spoon. Seats are turned over fairly rapidly so waits shouldn't be too long. There is a simple order card and pencil at all seats. Select you main ingredient for the pho and vermicelli and (+, - or hold) on additional ingredients. Hand your card to wait staff and your orders will be served in a few minutes.
Recently tried the pho with cooked beef (HK$82). This is a large and tasty pho. Broth is a good flavour, beef, noodles, greens and other ingredients just fine. Overall, a filling bowl of really good pho. Tried the friend spring rolls (HK$55) as well. These were nicely-fried, crispy and compact. Nice flavour as well, a good complement to the pho.
Overall, Brass Spoon is a straightforward concept with really good pho. It is as simple as that. Will gladly return.

Big bowls of pho, crispy spring rolls, delicious grilled meats. This is the kind of Pho you crave every day! Be prepared to wait in line however as this is one popular place. My personal favourite is the crispy spring rolls - the perfect mid pho snack.

A very well balanced pho with a a light, savoury broth and fresh ingredients. Regular raw beef is of good quality, no need to opt for the premium. Grab a side dish instead. Beware of the long lines at lunch, come a little before or after the rush.

Situated in a very up and coming yet quiet neighborhood, Brass Spoon has been one of my most favorite Vietnamese pho and I visit here regularly and religiously for its quick no non-sense service, vibrate staff attitudes, unique location and mostly the pho and fried spring roll.
For me a perfect meal at Brass Spoon is an order of its premium raw beef pho, one order of spring roll (4 small pieces) and a cup of cold Vietnamese style coffee / bill would come to HK$218 and would be a wonderful meal for the day.
Brass Spoon accepts cash only and charges no service fee.
Sometimes the line is long so I prefer to visit solo to jump ahead of the cue.

I heard so many positive feedback on this Vietnamese Pho restaurant that's why I decided to try it myself. You are given an order sheet which you can choose the type of pho and what goes into the pho i.e. shallots, onions, corriander and beef oil. I ordered the raw beef pho with reduced amount of shallots and onions. They give you a bowl of raw bean sprouts, lime, basil and mint leaves. The noodles were the smoothest I ever had. They simply slide into your month. The soup was also very tasty. Since I was there right before it opens, so I didn't have to wait long. I noticed a long queue while I was leaving. Even though the pho here is a bit on the expensive, it was worth it.

We went there having tried a couple of other “long queued” pho shops. Overall it was good but the chef needed more support. As a solo chef, we expected some waiting time but did not expect that the pho finally came after over 20 minutes ! That probably explained why there was always a long queue in front of the shops during lunch time. Besides, the noodles tasted as smooth as silk and if you don’t know these noodles well, they were made with lots of oil. Noodles with lesser oils would seem to be a healthier choice.

Recommended by some colleagues to try this place out for their pho and so we tried out the mixed beef pho (cooked + raw) and an order of fried spring rolls.
Flavor was good and overall the beef quality was there with nice softness and beefy flavor which are usually hard and chewy in other Vietnamese establishments in Hong Kong. The spring rolls were average, nothing memorable.
Price-wise it was expensive for a bowl of Pho. 2 Pho and the spring roll amounted to ~250HKD which was on the higher side on the Vietnamese food pricing spectrum.
This place also closes early with the last order at 6:45PM so practically caters to the lunch crowd.
They also have another shop in Central - Pottinger Street
