Yum Cha is a hip Cantonese restaurant with a nice street view of the city. It is also one of the very few cozy and spacious gathering places in Sheung Wan. As its name hints, Cantonese dim sum and delicacies are the major features on...menu. Food, however, is underwhelming. Everything is very greasy and some dishes are served lukewarm. Service is poor. Price is not cheap. Perhaps there are better options in the area.More

Took the dim sum class with friends and we learned how to make custard buns and siomay. It was pretty organised and group is small which is great. Highlight was the afternoon tea included in your class and tasting your creations.

We went here for lunch. The restaurant is busy and service is good. The price is reasonable and the dim sum tastes good. The dessert is a bit sweet, however, the presentation looks brilliant and the savoury dim sum is yum.

Looking for something different? Have kids in your party? This is the place to go. The kitchen masquerading as a truck, big stuffed heads with google eyes will keep the kids distracted. Then you find the dim sum is also decorated in the same way:...BBQ pork buns looking like little piggies, everyone in the group will be enchanted. Food doesn't taste half bad either. Worth a visit.More

Yum ca is one of those go to restaurants. Food is consistent and service is efficient. Menu is varied and best of all food is fresh, delicious, quite creative and msg free. They are very popular so booking is advised.

Wow. This large restaurant on the 2nd floor in an office complex is the place to go for dumpling/dim sum. It is family friendly without being overly kid-centric. Our party of 7 Westerners ordered hardy because this variety and quality is not readily available to...us in the US. All of us picked a few dishs and our guide filled in a few more non dumpling dishes ... amazing. We loved the pace of the service. Every few minutes the server would bring our a few more dishes to share on the large Lazy Susan. Even the dessert dumplings were good .... they make whimsical faces on many of the dumplings. The price was a bargain compared to what we would have paid for some much food and drink at home.More

We love dim sum but our youngest daughter is not convinced. Yum Cha was a great compromise. It serves good Dim Sum but is also child-friendly with some Dim Sum made to look like animals and more child-friendly dishes available if needed. The decor is...fun for kids and you can see the chefs making the food. You don’t have to compromise as an adult as the food is very good quality.More

We had "discovered" yum cha on line months before we visited Hong Kong and had to visit to try out the cuteness that is their Dim Sum. From pineapple puff birds, to Red Bean buns, these were picture perfect and tasted good too We easily...found the restaurant located on the 2nd floor and opted for dim sum off the standard menu plus one addition off the Halloween menu, all served with Jasmine Tea. The service was good and the buns were great. Definitely an experience not to be missed.More

This place offers very tasty and fun looking dim sum. You will find the traditional ones, and also ones with a modern twist. The food experience is enjoyable. However, it is a bit crowded and noisy, and hard to carry a conversation when you have...friends who are soft spoken. I still enjoyed the food, but left quickly for a coffee shop after.More

The yum cha is delicious, it’s a super busy restaurant, after 1.5 hr they will give you your bill. It’s not a place to have a leisurely lunch. They want you in and out. Food was served quickly and service was very efficient although few...of the servers do not speak English.More

Fun ambiance. Go there if you love cute things (and who doesn’t), worth making the trip and waiting! Food is adorable, but also tastes really good! Great place to bring out of Townes visiting Hong Kong. Conveniently located in central.
