About
Clipper Lounge is a long-established favourite with Hong Kong locals and hotel guests alike and a wonderful place to meet at any time in the day. Clipper Lounge has a timelessly elegant feel with mink, taupe and mandarin furnishings enhanced with subtle Oriental accents. While popular for breakfast and dinner buffets, as well as our Sunday champagne brunch Hong Kong locals love, Clipper Lounge is best known for afternoon tea. Elegantly presented, the spread includes delicacies such as finger sandwiches, sweets, scones and our signature homemade rose-petal jam. We also offer extremely popular seasonal themed teas.

It's the first time I enjoyed a dinner buffet at here with my MUM. I booked it quite rush. Thank You Charles, the Manager arranged a table for me even though it's almost full bookings! The food variety were quite a lot! Food quality were...fine. The most important thing here in MO must be the staffs. All of them are gentle and friendly. Thank you for your services 👍 Alvin, Paul, AdamMore

Visited with my family for an early Mother’s Day celebration after their first ever stay with MO Kuala Lumpur hotel earlier this month. We have been here a couple of times and the service level remains very high - MO standard. Our package included free...flow of wines and juices. The wine tastes alright and some juices are freshly squeezed. Food was ok and fresh. Credits to Ms Choi and her team who assisted in my last minute booking; Jeremy and his colleagues who took good care of our table on the night. Slight improvement - variety of food. Overall - 5/5 :)More

The environment of the restaurant is very comfortable, not too crowded and noisy. The food has lots of variety. Seafood and Sashimi is quite fresh. Especially the dessert is unexpectedly excellent, with so many choices. They are all instagrammable and tasty. The service is also...very nice. Very good experience in general!More

HK used to be THE place for the best champagne free flow sunday brunches..legendary but oh how the mighty have fallen since 2020. First time heading back since and we booked the Sunday brunch for 3 persons. First off, the crowd definitely changed. Before it...was common for everyone drinking champagne at every table, the buffer is not only bustling but the variety would be diverse etc etc but it wasn't the case. The champagne, wine, juice and bottled water needs to be paid extra on top, which the booking system didn't specify on the hotel site and also we were the only ones drinking champagne for Sunday brunch. The waiter also was surprised I asked for it and said ok to it. In fact he didn't even offer, I had to ask. It was odd since there were bottles being chilled around but no one else was drinking. The food spread...oh my. It was one of those, it 'looks' good on photos but the quality just wasn't there any more. The spread looks photogenic but most of it didnt taste good. Some of the chilled king crab was so salty, probably kept it for top long, it was inedible. The sashimi looked unappealing.. didnt look fresh and honestly I didnt see a lot of people taking them. The sushi was gross....you'd get a better one at a cheaper revolving belt sushi restaurant like genki sushi. The prime rib beef was so chewy....I couldn't eat most of it. The selection also didn't look that great. The most delicious thing I remember were the lamb chops, which if you wait longer to get them they become well done grey meat. This just isn't what it used to be. Mandarin Oriental typically used to boast quality over quantity but honestly this was really disappointing....service was still quite professional and friendly but the food just isn't what it used to be for the price....go elsewhere for brunch....if there are still good ones left.More

We thought that this was going to be a mediocre experience. There was so much negativity expressed by those around that I hesitated to book. However, to our pleasant surprise, we found out that Charles, the present manager of Clipper, was transferred to Clipper from...the Mandarin Grill just a few months ago. With that knowledge in mind, we thought we might just give this restaurant a chance. We arrived early to a lunch reservation, but staff members were warm and welcoming. And we had thought that service attitude would be lukewarm at best. The food was so much better than expected. We had ordered "safely". A Greek Salad to share, the Barramundi fillet and a Chinese Bento Lunch Box. Everything came on time, tasted just fine and even the bread roll was the right warm temperature. It was a good experience and we were glad that we gave Charles the benefit of the doubt. He certainly did not disappoint.More

Dined at Clipper Lounge on Friday to celebrate my daughter's birthday but ended up with a very disappointing experience. Mandarin NO More! Service no good, food no good, salty sauces and visualized the tiniest ever birthday cake in the world and first ever time I...celebrate her birthday without a candle as this was disallowed. Interesting and weird to have celebrated this way. The Manager brought the tiny little 'cake' to her and tried very hard already to wish her a happy birthday, hardly able to squeeze a smile. This is not the Mandarin I used to know, and it's time to end the legacy after it's fantastic 60th.More

Clipper Lounge is the coffee shop of Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. CENTRAL+ members can enjoy a 10% discount on food and beverage. Everything about this restaurant feels old, including the décor, furniture, silverware, etc. While inexperienced trainees are still learning the basics, we are fortunate...to have Victor, who is attentive and sensitive to details, handling our table. As soon as he realized that his colleague mistook “nut allergy” as “peanut allergy”, he went to the kitchen immediately to check on the ingredients of the tea set items. He was so thorough that he personally prepared fruits and cheesecakes to replace the items containing nuts. However, the quality of the tea set is simply disappointing! Honestly, it does not match the hotel’s 5-star brand name at all! For starter, tea does not come with a strainer. The scones are cold and hard! The “Cassis Entremet, Vanilla Shortbread” is sour and sticky. It is obviously time for Mandarin Oriental to upgrade the coffee shop, in ALL aspects!More
