Beef and fish ball noodles are very common Chaozhou food, and there are probably a couple dozen such restaurants in Taiwo alone. The menu consists of noodles or rice served with fish skin dumplings, fried fish balls, various organs and - the specialty - stewed...beef brisket sliced against the grain. I have tried probably about 20 of these places, and this one stands out. There's no avoiding that brisket is very fatty meat (and this dish is supposed to have layers of fat included), but result here is rich, not greasy. It's just a little bit better - I just can't find another place that does these basic dishes as well. The owners are friendly. The most expensive dish (a huge serving of brisket with rice) is 38 HKD. Taiwo itself is far off the beaten path for most HKers, but the shop itself is just across the street from the Taiwo MTR.More
